  • We visit Toronto. We begin our day by Nathan Phillip Square and the City Hall, then briefly explore the Eaton Centre. We ride south on the bus and enjoy the Toronto Islands. Later in the day we have lunch at Mill Street Brewery in the Distillery District. We finish our day by watching the sunset from the top of the CN Tower. On the next day we pass by Casa Loma on our way to Niagara Falls.

    I live in Toronto, and honestly, I'm so happy you saw such beautiful scenery here, especially from the Island. Your videos are inspiring even to a native. Very nicely done. :) Your comment about us being nice but many times useless for directions, made me LAUGH, it's so true. Lastly, I hate to say this, but I feel like you missed a lot of the architecture of the old UofT buildings, and many other downtown treasures: Princes Gate, Much Music building, the ROM, Grange House, OCAD, Fairmont Royal York, Union station, Roy Thompson Hall & the Theatre district, and a lot of the culturally significant newer buildings we have in the Financial district. Other than that, you did well. :)

    And a big LOL about the Cheese Turds!!!! I absolutely love Cheese Curds and love French Fries but, and I'm sorry here, I think Poutine is a disservice to both. The Acadian version of Poutine is a bit of meat or cheese wrapped in a ball of potato dough. Then it is boiled and before serving it is fried. I have never eaten it but my Acadian S-I-L says it is a wonderful old ethnic dish.

      Can't wait to try the Acadian version.. sorry about the mispronunciation... but I do love poutine.

      I look forward to seeing it from your perspective. I must say that your New York City video was terrific. I learned a lot about the city from your research and have a lot of things to look for now on my next visit there.

      Jethromcsheepherder Je ne parle pas... Hey, I know a few words but not enough to carry a conversation. Thanks you for your comment. Are you from Toronto? I loved that city and can't wait to go back with more time. We also went to Niagara Falls, Ottawa, Montreal and Quebec City. Ha! We Canadians FEEL like winter is most of the year but it really is only from December to about the end of March. Mind you, November is usually a MISERABLE month in Canada too and April CAN be heinous. But we try to ignore those fringe months. I live in Ontario and the east coast and the prairie often get blasted with more winter than we do although we have had Snowmageddon winters too. Ha! But let's face it, if we had nice warm winters you wouldn't get all those lovely Canadian snowbirds in Florida. I blame it on our Canadian ancestors. They needed to claim some warm lands. Britain has the BVIs, US has so many warm lands it's ridiculous 😉, and LOVELY as it is we have south western BC 🤔😐😕🌂⛈💦☔️☂️🌧🌦😑😐😬. Ha! There was talk of the Turks and Caicos becoming part of Canada 😃😄😁but that seems to have become a dead issue. Oh well, winter aside, I am a patriotic Canuck and wouldn't want to call any other country my homeland 🇨🇦.

    • @TravelingRobert
      @TravelingRobert  7 лет назад +3

      The "most of the year" comment was meant for humor, but I know it get's pretty darn cold. I think what you call "patio weather" is what we consider winter in Florida. By the way, we love Canadian snowbirds down here. The nicest people ever, eh?

      In Toronto the winter is over six months long. I have suffered freezing temperatures in late April and early October. So in my mind from Texas, winter runs from October to April visiting relatives in Toronto, 7 months.
