I'm a loyal UA customer because it's the best platform that's cross-compatible between PC & Mac users. I work with both clients equally. Please make LUNA available for PC as soon as possible!
So far loving everything I am seeing about Luna. Love that spill feature! So rad to just have the busses in view for a really tight view and being able to spill out the source tracks when needed.
Cypher Music I know, but it’s should be in the next month or two and it would be nice if they had a large amount of comprehensive tutorials ready at launch because it’ll take third parties time to get caught up so UA needs to create these first.
I have been using Luna for a while and I can say I’m speechless when it comes to create music with Shape- Spitfire- Strings ensemble..... so beautiful. Luna in my inspirational DAW where I sketch new ideas for recording later on in the studio. There we use Logic.
They got it right!! It’s amazing!! Couple little things I miss from pro-tools....but the added features universal audio thought of makes it well worth the switch! I’m sure these couple things will get added in the next update! UAD are the best!
This is looking fantastic as it's been presented so far. I'm so fortunate & glad that months ago I went with the UA Arrow, and the OX; I cannot wait to migrate to the Luna. Even something as - sometimes - hectic as the sample rate change, wow! Great job UA!
Man, I've been wrestling with my computer/Pro Tools for the last 10 days with this very issue. I'm over it as well and figured the whole track at 96k, mix at 48k thing would just be the way to work for the time being. Maybe not any longer.
I'm in the exact same boat. So ready to ditch both of those programs and work in one eco-system. Pretty promising so far. Come on on Luna, you gotta deliver the goods now.
I’m very excited about this new DAW. I have recently switched to Reaper from Pro Tools and Digital Performer, which offered me an incredible flexibility, especially while scoring music for film. Being a diehard user of UAD products, I can’t wait for this new DAW.
Taking the dive and investing in the Apollo Twin X Quad. Luna looks how I wish Logic Pro did. I can see a lot of people making the switch if all this goodness continues. A truly modern DAW, very well thought out. I LOVE the spill feature!
hey there? Do you know how to put effects only on a highlighted part of a track, like putting a low pass filter on the very begging of the song only on the tracks you highlight? pro tools has this option but i cant figure it out in luna
I would love to see UA's take on a DAW control surface as well. The SSL Nucleus is about as close to "perfect" as it gets right now, but obviously the price is outlandish. Avid's controllers are cool, but I'm sure there's much more you could do than what the market currently offers. From what I've seen, it seems like Luna also handles a lot--if not all--of what Console is meant for. That's already a huge plus. That said, a controller that takes advantage of that and seamlessly interacts with both would absolutely be a game changer. There's so much potential there.
Luna is looking very intuitive and streamlined, very exciting. Are you planning on doing a comprehensive instructional video series to get users up to speed quickly? Thank you!
Been a huge fan and user of Luna since it came out but can’t belive I only heard the news about sample rates now - I record at 96k and am frequently maxing out, so being able to mix at 48 and then put it back to 96 to export without any loss of that 96k quality is HUGE!!!!
This will be great. But having 2 Apollo 8P interfaces and using a iPad with Protools Eucon/Controller/Artist mix as I track and print within the DAW would have to be included. Right now, the Console works perfect. I sit at my live room and track by myself with acoustic drums ..Love the option to bounce tracks out and into your choice of DAW. Great video...Looks exciting....
I have an x8p and a twin quad running PT - couldn't get their native remote software to work for some reason. But a 3rd party desktop controller works pretty well for a similar setup. I'm often tracking by myself in a better-sounding room.
So funny - I too have found myself becoming a bit of a "slacker" with my music production output lately, thinking, "I'll really get going when LUNA is up and running fully." But we shouldn't curb our artistry while we wait for a company to release something cool. Lesson learned.
10:50 Suggestion! If you have quite a few clip based pitch changes you might get lost pretty fast trying to find them. This could be made easier if the colour in the clip header changed just for the clips where changes are made.
Just bought an Apollo x4 and looking forward to getting started on this. Love these ideas. Current Ableton Live user, but I can see myself using LUNA a lot in different contexts. Could I ask what low-profile MIDI keyboard is being used here?
Auto save, sample rate conversion (so no chipmunk scenarios) and buffer. Flexible work flow with other workstations. Easier clip fades & lengths, pitch & gain changes made straight forward. Arrow key to plug in audition. Breadcrumb hints so things don’t get lost. Command G is great, as is spill. Midi Command D looks great taking my thoughts away from robot music fears. It’s beginning to look like a workstation built around your music & you, unlike a DAW built around a computer & programming. Can’t wait to Spring into action lol
The file management / database component of LUNA might be the single biggest leap over the competition. If the audio engine and editing features are on par with (or better than) the other mainstream DAWs out there and - as one would assume - the UA plugin integration is streamlined even further, this is going to make a pretty compelling case for existing UA users to make a major switch. In any case, it will be very exciting to have a serious new DAW to shake up the market a bit and keep the three big A's on their toes.
Really love how they’ve made key operations linked and accessed from the track selection. That fader control is sweet! You guys gonna have a rep at Gearfest showing LUNA unless it will be released before then..
DSP usage remains the same. help.uaudio.com/hc/en-us/articles/215262223-UAD-2-DSP-Chart. Nothing to announce at this time with regard to Windows. Yes, LUNA will work on original Apollos provided they have been upgraded with Thunderbolt cards. 👍
And one final thing lol...please get the delay comp correct off the sends so you can actually use parallel compression and sidechains on plugin heavy tracks without phase issues and delay. PT refuses to address this.
Is there any selection based processing in LUNA? I just want to do some restoration of a sound clip but I can't seem to find info about that anywhere. Thank you!
I'm interested in how well LUNA can be used for editing voiceover. Is there a way to edit clips using key commands instead of the smart-tool-esque mouse operation? I suppose since there aren't any individual tools in a toolbar it isn't likely, but I've tried porting my editing workflow from PT to StudioOne and it's just way too "mousy". Is there an ability for keyboard-focused editing?
Hi Greg, there are some key commands for moving your selection around and you have tab to transient for moving side to side, but it is more mouse oriented from there, sorry.
Looks really fast to use for straightforward stuff .. which is actually 95% of what I do in my studio where I do Jazz, Rock, Pop-Rock mostly live off the floor, no samples, no tuning. A great recording system with comps, file handling etc ... all looking great so far.
Hi! I've tested Luna. I think it's very promising. Is it possible to assign controller's knobs to "virtual knobs" of the plugins in Luna? Like the MIDI learn function in Ableton Live. I've searched on several forums but haven't found any information yet.
Sorry Zorro in Hell , as general policy, we can't comment on any future developments or releases. We appreciate your interest though and encourage you to stay tuned.

@universal audio are you going to make an ios and android app to remote control LUNA similar to avid control some of us control daw by distance like hitting the recording button
Hello UA, Thank you for this video. I am eager to know the audio editing capabilities within Luna, especially multi track drums or percussions. I would like to know if this has something similar to a beat detective feature which helps fix drum performances really well without stretching and mangling the audio like what happens within a Logic Pro X.

About 5 or 6 years ago, I asked UA to make a desk, I’m glade you decided to make it a software console ! Keep up the good work !
SPILL is AMAZING!!! What an amazing feature. So ready for this. :)
The comping playlist thing with key commands looks really cool, good job UA! Please make a video that goes into depth with Automation next!
So far loving everything I am seeing about Luna. Love that spill feature! So rad to just have the busses in view for a really tight view and being able to spill out the source tracks when needed.
Indeed!
Very cool, us UA windows peeps deserve it asap!
I wish that was 10x longer. Seriously. One of the great things about Logic is the number of tutorials on RUclips which helped me learn how to use it.
Cypher Music I know, but it’s should be in the next month or two and it would be nice if they had a large amount of comprehensive tutorials ready at launch because it’ll take third parties time to get caught up so UA needs to create these first.

stansteez - Yep, but as I say to 15 year old, most cars have 4 wheels and a steering wheel, let's see how it drives now.
I'm quickly falling in love with Luna. Cheers to UA for making another great product!
Thanks Dan!
real time wave form previews.... im in love

@@UniversalAudio You are most welcome - well deserved!
👍
More demo like this, please!! Can't wait for Luna launching...
3 minutes in and they just solved my biggest current issue with my DAW (recording at 96k then mixing at 48 to save CPU)
Sweet!
Universal Audio I just invested in a big UA system a few moths ago (x8/new twin/2 satellites) now all this just seems like a massive bonus ahaha
👍

I am so pumped for this. Can't wait for download day
If UAD gets this right I will finally ditch Pro Tools & Logic since I'm already heavily invested in the platform.
A mixing board with Apollo pre amps are my dream
We just need some UAD control surfaces with some nice faders and that's it
So...you give all your money to them instead.
Luiz Fernando agreed!

cool video. Excited to start diving into it.
love how hard they try to avoid saying "PRO TOOLS"
Incredible job as always guys
Thanks!
That Spill feature is Golden

Looks like a beast with some really advanced IT capabilities speeding up a workflow
hey there? Do you know how to put effects only on a highlighted part of a track, like putting a low pass filter on the very begging of the song only on the tracks you highlight? pro tools has this option but i cant figure it out in luna
Make it for Windows too, support VST and VSTi Integration and this will be my new main DAW.
yeah boiiii
Theres always Reaper 6 which does the same thing and more
I really doubt they'd make a Windows product. I know it's 2020 and all, but some companies if they had a choice, would stick to Apple.
@@tonylancer7367 At least one of their emails said Apple to start with, but Windows later.
at least make it work for bootcamp windows 10 on macbook pro. a lot of producer use Win10 because theres more VSTs
So pumped for this 🙌
Love the UI - nice and clean. Looks very similar to LPX.
Great vid, thanks!
You're welcome!
As a multiple Apollo owner I'm pretty stoked for this -- can't wait til it's available. Bye, bye Pro Tools monthly subscription.
Great! but only 5 inserts?
There are 8!
@@UniversalAudio Oh perfect ... thank you very much!

When will pc users see Luna?
Nothing to announce at this time, but we're listening to our users.

Don't hold your breath. UAD has a 2 year average follow up for Windows.

I can’t wait. Is external hardware support on the roadmap? Would love to be able to use my summing mixer to add some glue to the mix with Luna....
Hey Maulley G, summing mixers are good to go now. Delay compensated hardware inserts won't be in V1, but we know how important that is for some users.

@@UniversalAudio Thanks. Could I use Protools with an Apollo 4 and set up an LCR mix or are all outputs dedicated stereo outputs?

Yes, LUNA has excellent Warp and Pitch algos.
