    You mention that the Commandant is about a 4k grit compound. Do you know of any other rubbing compounds similar to the commandant that is more readily avail. in the US?

    hello..what can i do if i have orange peels on the color coat? i haven't done any clear coat yet and i'm using spray cans.

    • @TheScalemodelingChannel
      @TheScalemodelingChannel  9 лет назад

      When its done its done, the clear will fix most of it. maybe in the future you need to put the spray can in some hot water and shake it some more.

    Would 2000 be enough if I am using tamiya compounds and then carnauba WAX?

    • @TheScalemodelingChannel
      @TheScalemodelingChannel  6 лет назад

      Not really, its still very rough in this scale

    What happened if you got the decal on whant to polhis

    • @TheScalemodelingChannel
      @TheScalemodelingChannel  6 лет назад

      Ben Gillmore if the decal is underneath the clear, nothing.
      If it is on top of the clear, you will remove it

      +Abdullah Khan yes

      Is the 3 stage compounding necessary . Cant just a normal automotive compound and a local wax do after sanding? what grit paper is better and easier to bring back to shine? and im just starting model kit building what grit papers should i get ?

    • @TheScalemodelingChannel
      @TheScalemodelingChannel  8 лет назад

      The 3 stage works best.
      2000/2500 is best. higher will also work but does not make a big diference.
      Every one you can find

    LOT OF WORK BUT WITH THE EFFORT ITS A JOB THAT REWARDS ! For my own liking on my builds i go 1000 2000 2500 4000 6000 12000 on my grits when needed . I use all real bc/cc colors "base coat/clear coat" and my clear is high soild so 3 coats its almost buried so i know i have enough clear to not worry about buring the paint . Your video here is GREAT and should help alot of builders Thank you !

      I'm using the same method but i start with micromesh grit 3200 'cause you can go through more easily with grits under 3200. As already a great video! - Sorry for my english
