You definitely had a great year Andy. I've been following all year long and you continue to inspire me to work hard and put in the work. Most of my time goals went out the window by March. Just a frustrating year. I didn't have a running injury but some health issues that derailed my running. I was still working hard given the new constraints and I started to see the light at the end of the tunnel for improvement as the year closed out. Hoping that 2025 is better. As always, love your training advice!
Thanks buddy, and thank you for your continued support. Really glad to hear there is light at the end of the tunnel for you as we close out the year... wishing you a happy and healthy 2025!
Don’t give up on the marathon just yet, personally I think you were one bad weather day away from a 2:35. Your training leading up to that race was insanely good & consistent.
Thank you buddy, I appreciate that! I wont be giving up, thats for sure, I just dont want to give it another go until I have nailed my fuelling... once thats under control, I will lock in
It's been awesome (and inspiring) following your journey and progress this year. Always love your genuine and enthusiastic approach. Have a great Christmas and looking forward to what the next year will bring!
Another good watch as always Andy I have really enjoyed your journey since getting to know your channel better this year got to do my race calendar vlog this week hopefully tonight
Can't wait to see the steady stream of content for 2025 if you are able to race every couple of weeks! I've done the double marathon (spring / fall) in 2023 and 2024, and for 2025 (assuming Boston goes well) I plan to only do the spring marathon and spend the rest of the year working on just getting faster. I've spent so much time just getting to be a better marathon runner that I feel I have neglected just getting mechanically faster. Which now seems to be my limiter. The fact that I can time qualify for multiple majors on a bad day means, it's time to change things up. Flirting with a sub 3:10hr marathon, yet struggling to go sub 21mins in the 5k makes no sense.
Thanks Tim, and thank you for your continued support throughout the year! I really hope Boston goes well for you so you can tackle those shorter distances for the rest of the year! Sounds like you're definitely an endurance kinda runner!
Hi Andy. I never usually comment on videos on youtube but just want to say i have loved watching your content over the past year. I am more of a hobby jogger but hopefully looking to enter a couple of races next year. Signed up for Parkrun aswell. Just to get me out of my comfort zone and get the self confidence going. Respecting illness is so important the older we get I think. Oh and I was a little late to the Mach 6 party but I have 100 miles on mines now and shoe of the year for me too! All the best.
Ah thats amazing it means alot that you've taken the time to drop a comment, thank you! Glad you are loving the mach 6 and I wish you all the best for 2025, hope you have a great year filled with awesome running!
Definitely with you on the race shorter, race more frequently thoughts. When I was around your standard I kept trying to chase that elusive sub 2.40 marathon to the neglect of other race distances, and I regret that. Never putting in a proper 10k training block for instance.
Thanks for that. A lot of reassurance from your approach that has served you well. My first year injury free. Highest mileage etc and managing illness/niggles. All the best for 2025 🎉
Try keeping your little lad out of the germ factory this year Andy 😁 Best of luck with 2025, I always find your training series videos very informative.
Great insight in the video, thanks for sharing. And Congratulations on your successes 👏 For me 2024 was frustrating as I struggled with illness throughout all my target races, but hey! I learned to adjust, and manage my expectations. I followed my weekly / monthly training plan, hitting all the goals I was able to. I was really ill, low in September, then stated chemotherapy in October- and WOW started to feel better, almost instantly. 5k times improved by 8 mins, hitting November just 5% down on my pre cancer PBs. So… started signing up for 2025 races. Starting with Bourton on the Water in Feb. Side note: started running in Under Armour Velociti Elite 2 (2mm drop) and loved them.
I have, once! It was fun but I cant say I was a huge fan... its something I keep meaning to give a go another year but I end up filling my winters up with hilly road races instead!
i find it rather difficult, all i try to do, run today in a way i also would run, if i knew i would be dead tomorrow, in other words, don`t leave anything on the table, enjoy the day as good as you can and have no regrets whatsoever. At the same time in the back of my head is the start of my section hike across Germany next September, where i want to be in good enough shape to enjoy the experience ........so i wiggle my toes eavery morning when i wake up, live like a running pro, enjoy every minute i got, and don`t do anything I don`t want to do ..closing in on..new pr in distance covered in one year
@@TheFODRunner yeah, just put one foot in front of the other and stay healthy, sounds like no big deal, but for me it is the biggest running related even of my life
Yeah, next year I’m gonna focus just on Health and kind of more local races. I’ve got a 50 K on a what we call a fat ass for you. Just bring all your stuff. Pretty rugged trail pretty good. It’s a lot of fun in January. I got another one in February and April I’ve got a brand new hundred mile course with about 21,000 feet gain which is like 6400 m And then after that I’m just gonna try to keep healthy and do a lot of smaller trail races some road races and maybe pull up another hundred training block towards the end of the year if I enter or not I’m not sure this is 2024. It was a rough year for me. I ripped the Doctor muscle working and it took a lot of my time away for money got healed and I just really wanna enjoy running so killed canceled some stuff towards the end of the year and looking for 25 to be a banger wish everybody merry Christmas and a happy new year and a prosperous new year and have a great year
Really hope you have a great start to next year with those races lined up! Sounds exciting! Getting involved in the local races after the big 100 sounds great... always good to support local! Thank you buddy!
Thanks mate for all the great content this year. Happy Christmas to you and yours!

So glad the end of the year has picked up for you Paul! Really sorry to hear about the cancer, how are you getting on with the treatment now?
Sounds like you're ready to grab 2025 by the horns Andy! Go on lad! 💪👏
Thanks mate, same back at you!
I've not seen you do any cross country races. Is this something you've tried before & don't enjoy? It's worth giving it a go if you haven't.
