- Rick has agreed to present a You've Been Framed style DVD, but neither he nor his writing partner Marty can come up with any decent links. Rick is also suffering from insomnia, caused by the paperboy, Wayne, who is very punctual, very noisy and of relatively little intelligence.
Rick Spleen is a disillusioned stand-up comedian writer whose career has not gone to plan.

This might be my favourite episode because it revolves around something so banal as teaspoons and a toaster. Plus it has two great cameos from Ewen and Vikki.
I say this about every episode....can't now decide which is my favorite. the whole show is just amazing...wonderful writing

I love this show. That expression of pure disgust and disdain on Rick's face when he's confronted with cringey people is hilarious.

The first season was the best, the stories were simpler and less contrived and the characters fresher

I wondered why Jack Dee hadnt been on TV for years. Because his tired, grumpy man routine is just .. tired and boring.
Rick Spleen is not just grumpy; he’s a sociopath.
He's awesome. If you find it boring then you don't notice the subtleties.

this really is a rip-off of Curb your Enthusiasm...I'm only enjoying it because I feel its a season I've never seen
I dunno. It clearly owes something to Curb but the Rick character is very different from the Larry David character. Also, if you're going to pick on this show you should also pick on other shows like Extras that "stole" from Curb.
@@DadgeCity could always be argued they are all a copy of Hancock's Half Hour, but any Lead Baloon script could be immediatley performed by the curb cast and you'd think it was original. Being a fan of Jewish comedy I note that jestures and musicinn lead baloon mirror those of curb too

Well if it makes me laugh so hard I fart out loud then bring on the rip-offs. Actually better than curb with no strong language.
