Never worn a suit in my life, but I’m gonna get one for my 8th grade graduation! I’m so hyped!!

As far as H&M goes, I (a woman with an interest in menswear) have had great success in the children's section so far. You really can get some bang for your buck if you're on the smaller side. Boy's stuff tends to fit better proportionally, because (as you said) the men's XS, whilst fitting your torso allright, tends to be too long still.

Katharina Kr agreed! I'm currently wearing some jean shorts from the kids section.

Took me this long to find your channel. Spot on suit, btw. Where'd you buy your shoes? They look amazing!

Thank you for sharing this video! I’ve had trouble finding more formal/ classic menswear tips for transmascs. I never thought about tailoring clothing, and I don’t know why I never did because it makes so much sense! I’ll definitely use these tips thanks for this.

try thrift stores of primark, thrift stores are a little iffy but primark has started carrying smaller sizes. makes sure it fits your sholders, sleeves will probably be a little long, you only have to be able to do up the top button. worth a shot though, just try the stuff on

And actually there's a difference between made to measure and bespoke, too! With a made to measure suit they measure you once and make the suit. With bespoke suits you have to go to certain places, not just any tailor, and you have multiple fittings over the course of several months to a year. Can cost upwards of $5000 unlike a made to measure suit which typically costs like $500-$1000. Coming from a guy who doesn't even own a suit haha

I am a trans man, 5’ 3’, and 115-120 lbs- AND I am going to a wedding. So this advice is spot on haha

Also I have found some great clothes for work (I work at a library, so business casual wear) second hand at thrift stores. Even if the size seems a bit large sometimes it's shrunk in the dryer. I should probably vlog my wardrobe...

I could probably tailor my thrift store suit jacket though. my suit pants are kids size so they fit.

I recommend ASOS super skinny suits, they go down to 32in size.

Any ideas on formal shoes? I have little feet too (size 6 womens) and boys shoes just don't have the same selection.

Hey Harrison! Awesome video, do you have any tips on how to deal with large hips in suit pants? I always get the jacket to fit by never the pants. Thanks:)

Lauren Austin-Spooner anyone else who has this same problem please chime in!
You can get pants "let out" at the hips at a tailor so that might be an option for you!

if you can't afford to go to a tailor or don't have the time, i've found that also just wearing pants lower on your hips helps a lot as far as masking the width goes

This is a question that has been tormenting me. My hips are wide and my waist is narrow. If I wear pants on my natural waistline, it shows curves, which is not attractive at all. I am planning to go to Indochino to have my first suit and pants made. But I don't know how to explain my situation to them, not because I am embarrassed, but because I don't know how the pants could/should be made, to eliminate/minimize the curves. I don't think the salespeople there will have any experience dealing with atypical body types. Any suggestions?
Magic Johnson says to wear the pants low. What does this mean in concrete terms when they take my measurements?
Also, would anyone know if there are tailors, etc in Canada (Vancouver preferably) who actually have experience making clothes for transmen's body shape?

Yess great video.. You look super handsome in the suit, I have to say ;)
I'm 5,2 (? I guess.. I'm from Europe :D) so I'm in a similar situation. I'm not ftm but I like menswear as I just feel more comfortable in it. Could you do a video on jeans, sizing and which fits work best (like does skinny /slim fit even work with broader hips?)? I already have to try on a million ones in the women's section, so I'm always too anxious to even go to the men's because I don't have a clue what I have to look for so I'd have to take 10 pairs or always run back. Talking of this, did /do you also experience this kind of anxiety and if so, how did / do you deal with it? Online shopping?
    Sorry for that long post.🙈
Ps: please don't take this like you now have to help cis women with their problems. If you know what I mean. This is supposed to help trans guys and not me, so please only make content that you feel could help them.🙂

bananafan I did do a video on my favourite type of jeans from the men's section! It's titled kollar jeans check it out. I enjoy a straight fit Jean not surfer skinny but not too loose I think that is a very masculine look and looks good on a smaller frame. Definitely at first I was apprehensive about shopping in the men's section but after I stopped caring about what other shoppers would think I became a lot more confident in just walking right to the men's section. Might do a more in depth jeans review soon!
