Slight additional suggestion. Spread your minefields out a bit more and go for gaps between them, to avoid chain reactions. IRL, with how they're spaced, they probably shouldn't do that. But I think the drone explosions might simply be the widespread. So, yeah, going for smaller, detached sections might help avoid that.
Couple suggestions. First, you can use angles and site lines a bit better. When on the base defense, you could have had your Stryker and its humvees (or the Bradley on its own) sit back to the left. Down in that little pocket. Because the enemy has to come around an inward curving corner, you'd have your guns on target and be able to engage them with both a turret and the vehicles. Secondly, when doing withdrawals (as you learned a bit the hard way), don't pull back your entire force at once. Take the slowest guys and get them moving moving, then your light armor, and have your heavy vehicles reverse while firing (you did that pretty great!). And you don't need to retreat to your final destination in a single run, either. Have squads pull back to specific spots, then hold up so they can provide fire and engage any pursuers. Then, when the next unit is in position, pull your rearguard back. This is called leapfrogging or a phased retreat IRL. Finally, watch for sightlines and ranges a bit more with units like snipers. They don't "need" to be in buildings. Rather, you can have them post up behind the line of defense a good ways, so long as they have a clear shot, and still engage the enemy. So long as the enemy can't bypass your defenses to just attack your snipers, you can have both the sniper and his spotter firing at will and not have them take fire from outside their building. And that goes double for rangers. Have them smoke up your defensive positions, especially when withdrawing, to break the enemy's line of sight.
Brilliant second episode. Not perfect but still a commendable fighting retreat despite bad parking jobs, matter-phasing enemies, and other shenanigans (RIP those guys who went north). Your tactical use of bounding troops to provide overwatch as you fell back was pretty nice, too bad the mission didn't give you enough time at the end to let that decision really make a difference. Your commentary is always great, but it really shines when you're panicking!
@@ThreatXtraYeah. I can't stand strategy games that don't let you pause. Trying to micromanage multiple battles at once is hard AF, and without being able to stop, take a breath, and evaluate your situation/strategy, I literally just can't.
I appreciate you going ham at this. Rimmy disowned it cuz it's too hard, and it'll probably be too hard for me too. But, I knew I'd find someone deranged enough to try this shit
The reason your striker got wrecked twice in such fast succession is because each vehicle also has different defensive quadrants as seen in the unit portraits at the bottom. When the armor on one of these facing sides is compromised it becomes much easier to take section/component damage, and damage leaks through easier. It's also a big part of what allows cherry tapping enemy vehicles to get rid of their crews for stealing them.
You can just get in the Humvee at the end and take it with you. An advantage for the next mission. There are so many things we don't know and that's what makes the game so special.
You always drive me crazy playing max difficult....lol. Even though you tend to be pretty good at it most times. I just hate things being unnecessarily difficult.
i dont know in the game but in real life ...m1126 stryker have light weight composite armor made from aluminum and ceramic and kevlar which can be added with cage or slat armor for better heat protection and bradely IFV have also reinforced aluminum with ERA on top of it for better heat protection.
Propably you know this already but stryker has just slightly better armor than humvee. Then is APC, Bradley with is able to survive anti tank gun(sometimes) and finaly proper tanks.
@@riq6344 Oh this game lacks any kind of information at all, for half the time you have no idea what you are doing and rest of the time you think you have an idea but nope. I ended up using forced atack on abrams to test how vechicles actualy work. Hummve is made of cardboard and without cartell armor you are better off using vans with armor addon cause they are faster. Stryker and APC are mostly immune to rifle ammo but will still slowly die, very slowly. Bradley is only thing that is actualy immune to .50cal from front at least and sadly 90% of vechicles have .50cal. And tanks are only thing that shrug off autocanons, 30mm and less won't do shit from the front but get flanked and you are dead. In general do not even think about using vechicles for shootouts with anything more than random militia, terminators will shread anything weaker than bradley(and even bradley can be penetrated by plasma rifles from sides). Only thing you want to ever draw fire is abrams with APS and extra armor.
from what i've seen anyone who try's to hold those buildings near the cave entrances suffer, don't feel bad about that ranger squad who got gunned down and the tank

Well that was rough and a bit goofy with that Abrams wackiness, this game does pretty cool things with the resupply and utilities like mines & smokes. I don't know much about Terminator lore past the first movie, but the setting of "Haven" being hidden for clearly a long time must be purely due to Legion incompetence, considering how superior tech they are supposed to have. I already dislike the story too, Church really doomed the base. Still, eager to see how you manage to survive and the tactical map looks like it might be an epic journey.

You know the thing is everyone else is in correct. Your character in this game makes a series of really bad decisions that gets a bunch of people killed and lose the base. The captain at the beginning telling you to hold your position and the lt saying nah f that? That's a real good example of your character just blowing off your superiors AGAIN. It's not even an unreasonable order. You are literally supposed to be holding the front of the base. But this game gives you zero decisions. Like you can't save the squad in mission 1 no matter what you do. They just stand there and die. You can't save the major despite holding the entire base still. It's very frustrating.
Cool looking game, but way, WAY too hard. Absurdly hard. It's practically impossible to even understand what you're supposed to be doing, even in the tutorial missions (specifically this one).
