the module plugs in-between that module and the harness. You CAN reach that connector from underneath, without removing it, that is true. But the connector is pretty small and it's a lot easier to see it (and not break it) if you have the module popped out (as shown in the next part).

Not in 2016-2018 model years, previous ones had the option. 2017 definitely does not (at least not in the North American markets)

This is misleading, you don’t need to take the suspension switches out of the console
the module plugs in-between that module and the harness. You CAN reach that connector from underneath, without removing it, that is true. But the connector is pretty small and it's a lot easier to see it (and not break it) if you have the module popped out (as shown in the next part).
