THE PROTESTANT WHO WOULD PRAY THE HAIL MARY (A true story)
A little six-year-old Protestant boy had often heard his Catholic companions reciting the prayer "Hail Mary." He liked it so much that he copied it, memorized it and would recite it every day. "Look, Mommy, what a beautiful prayer," he said to his mother one day.
"Never again say it," answered the mother. "It is a superstitious prayer of Catholics who adore idols and think Mary a goddess. After all, she is a woman like any other. Come on, take this Bible and read it. It contains everything that we are bound to do and have to do." From that day on the little boy discontinued his daily "Hail Mary" and gave himself more time to reading the Bible instead.
One day, while reading the Gospel, he came across the passage about the Annunciation of the Angel to Our Lady. Full of joy, the little boy ran to his mother and said: "Mommy, I have found the 'Hail Mary' in the Bible which says: 'Hail full of grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou amongst women.' Why do you call it a superstitious prayer?"
On another occasion he found that beautiful Salutation of St. Elizabeth to the Virgin Mary and the wonderful canticle MAGNIFICAT in which Mary foretold that "the generations would call her blessed."
He said no more about it to his mother but started to recite the "Hail Mary" every day as before. He felt pleasure in addressing those charming words to the Mother of Jesus, our Savior.
When he was fourteen, he one day heard a discussion on Our Lady among the members of his family. Every one said that Mary was a common woman like any other woman. The boy, after listening to their erroneous reasoning could not bear it any longer, and full of indignation, he interrupted them, saying:
"Mary is not like any other children of Adam, stained with sin. No! The Angel called her FULL OF GRACE AND BLESSED AMONGST WOMEN. Mary is the Mother of Jesus Christ and consequently Mother of God. There is no higher dignity to which a creature can be raised. The Gospel says that the generations will proclaim her blessed and you are trying to despise her and look down on her. Your spirit is not the spirit of the Gospel or of the Bible which you proclaim to be the foundation of the Christian religion."
So deep was the impression which the boy's talk had made that his mother many times cried out sorrowfully: "Oh my God! I fear that this son of mine will one day join the Catholic religion, the religion of Popes!" And indeed, not very long afterwards, having made a serious study of both Protestantism and Catholicism, the boy found the latter to be the only true religion and embraced it and became one of its most ardent apostles.
Some time after his conversion, he met his married sister who rebuked him and said indignantly: "You little know how much I love my children. Should any one of them desire to become a Catholic, I would sooner pierce his heart with a dagger than allow him to embrace the religion of the Popes!"
Her anger and temper were as furious as those of St. Paul before his conversion. However, she would change her ways, just as St. Paul did on his way to Damascus. It so happened that one of her sons fell dangerously ill and the doctors gave up hope of recovery. Her brother then approached her and spoke to her affectionately, saying:
"My dear sister, you naturally wish to have your child cured. Very well, then, do what I ask you to do. Follow me, let us pray one 'Hail Mary' and promise God that, if your son recovers his health, you would seriously study the Catholic doctrine, and should you come to the conclusion that Catholicism is the only true religion, you would embrace it no matter what the sacrifices may be."
His sister was somewhat reluctant at the beginning, but as she wished for her son's recovery, she accepted her brother's proposal and recited the "Hail Mary" together with him. The next day her son was completely cured. The mother fulfilled her promise and she studied the Catholic doctrine. After long preparation she received Baptism together with her whole family, thanking her brother for being an apostle to her.
The story was related during a sermon given by the Rev. Fr. Tuckwell. "Brethren," he went on and said, "the boy who became a Catholic and converted his sister to Catholicism dedicated his whole life to the service of God. He is the priest who is speaking to you now! What I am I owe to Our Lady. You, too, my dear brethren, be entirely dedicated also to Our Lady and never let a day pass without saying the beautiful prayer, 'Hail Mary', and your Rosary. Ask her to enlighten the minds of Protestants who are separated from the true Church of Christ founded on the Rock (Peter) and 'against whom the gates of hell shall never prevail.'"
“Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us now and at the hour of our death.”
"Continue to pray the Rosary every day."
** Please Share this if you love Mother Mary.

@@onemarktwoyou Some people claim the Catholic Church came into existence in the early part of the fourth century after the Roman emperor Constantine converted to Christianity. Reformed writer Lorraine Boettner presents one such scenario:
[I]n the fourth century the emperor Constantine, who was the ruler in the west, began to favor Christianity, and then in the year 324, after he had become ruler of all the Empire, made Christianity the official religion. The result was that thousands of people who were still pagans pressed into the church in order to gain the special advantages that went with such membership. . . . Gradually, through the neglect of the Bible and the ignorance of the people, more and more heathen ideas were introduced until the church became more heathen than Christian (Roman Catholicism[1962]) 11).
There are two glaring errors in Boettner’s view of Church history. First, the emperor Constantine did not make Christianity the official religion of the Roman Empire. Constantine did enact the Edict of Milan in A.D. 313, but that only granted legal toleration of the Faith. Christianity did not become the official religion of the empire until the reign of the Theodosius I in 380.
Second, Boettner ignores the fact that “heathen ideas” like the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist or the necessity of baptism can be seen in the writings of early Church Fathers such as Justin, Irenaeus, Cyprian, Tertullian, and others who lived long before Constantine’s reign. Even Protestant scholars admit that the doctrine of baptismal regeneration, or the teaching that baptism actually removes the stain of original sin, was promulgated long before the time of Emperor Constantine. According to Reformed apologist William Webster:
The doctrine of baptism is one of the few teachings within Roman Catholicism for which it can be said that there is a universal consent of the Fathers . . . From the early days of the Church, baptism was universally perceived as the means of receiving four basic gifts: the remission of sins, deliverance from death, regeneration, and the bestowal of the Holy Spirit (The Church of Rome at the Bar of History, 95-96).
Critics like Boettner also fail to understand that the Church, guided by the Holy Spirit, is capable of baptizing pagan rites and using them in service of the gospel. This is called inculturation, which is a process that Pope St. John Paul II describes in this way:
Through inculturation the Church makes the gospel incarnate in different cultures and at the same time introduces peoples, together with their cultures, into her own community. She transmits to them her own values, at the same time taking the good elements that already exist in them and renewing them from within.Through inculturation the Church, for her part, becomes a more intelligible sign of what she is, and a more effective instrument of mission (Redemptoris Missio 52).
In the eighteenth century Henry Cardinal Newman pointed out that many rituals in the Church have a non-Christian origin. The following quote that is attributed to him can be found on multiple Fundamentalist websites:
Temples, incense, oil lamps, votive offerings, holy water, holidays and season of devotions, processions, blessing of fields, sacerdotal vestments, the tonsure [of priests and monks and nuns], images . . . are all of pagan origin.[i]
Notice how this quote contains carefully placed ellipses that indicate a portion of it has been excised. The missing part contains the phrase, “the ring in marriage,” which was left out because Protestants routinely engage in this custom during their wedding services. The Bible knows nothing of wedding rings, but they were common in places like ancient Egypt, because they symbolized eternity and were worn on the finger that purportedly contained a nerve that extended all the way to the heart (Philippe Ariès and Georges Duby [eds.], A History of Private Life: From Pagan Rome to Byzantium, 467).
If the Catholic customs of using incense, candles, and chants contain an unforgivable infusion of “heathenism” into the Church, then Protestant churches that use fog machines, stage lights, and rock and roll music are just as heathen. Baptist harvest festivals celebrated on or just after Halloween would be another example of Protestant inculturation, since they celebrate morally good or morally neutral activities such as communal fall festivities or giving out candy without endorsing morally evil things like the occult.
John Paul II taught that using cultural elements in service of the gospel is not wrong as long such elements “in no way compromise the distinctiveness and integrity of the Christian faith” (Redemptoris Missio 52).

The problem is finding a Catholic Church. Vatican II churches with invalidly ordained priests saying the Novus Ordo Mass has 100% nothing to do with Catholicism. The people attending these services aren't practicing Catholicism. To practice Catholicism, you need a validly ordained priest of the true faith and a Tridentine mass.

    In Biblical way "Graven Image's"
If God simply forbids the making of graven images, then there are problems elsewhere in the Bible.
    Exodus 25: 18-21
25:18 And thou shalt make two cherubims of gold, of beaten work shalt thou make them, in the two ends of the mercy seat.25:19 And make one cherub on the one end, and the other cherub on the other end: even of the mercy seat shall ye make the cherubims on the two ends thereof.
25:20 And the cherubims shall stretch forth their wings on high, covering the mercy seat with their wings, and their faces shall look one to another; toward the mercy seat shall the faces of the cherubims be.
25:21 And thou shalt put the mercy seat above upon the ark; and in the ark thou shalt put the testimony that I shall give thee.
    Numbers 21: 8-9
21:8 And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live.
21:9 And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when
beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.
In the Gospel of John, Jesus compared Himself to the bronze serpent.
    John 3:14
3:14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up.
Now it is true that centuries later King Hezekiah destroyed it; however, this action was done because the people worshipped it as a God.
    2 King 18:4
18:4 He removed the high places, and brake the images, and cut down the groves, brake in pieces the brasen serpent that Moses had made: for unto those days the children of Israel did burn incense to it: and he called it Nehushtan.
Continuing in the Old Testament, the inner sanctuary of the Temple contained two large statues of angels according to
    1 Kings 6:23-29
[23]And he made in the oracle two cherubim from wood of the olive tree, of ten cubits in height.
[24]One wing of a cherub was five cubits, and the other wing of a cherub was five cubits, that is, having ten cubits from the summit of one wing even to the summit of the other wing.
[25]Likewise, the second cherub was ten cubits. And the measure was equal and the work was one, in the two cherubim,
[26]that is, one cherub had a height of ten cubits, and similarly the second cherub.
[27]And he stationed the cherubim in the middle of the inner temple. And the cherubim extended their wings, and the wing of the one was touching the wall, and the wing of the second cherub was touching the other wall. But the other wings, in the middle of the temple, were touching each another.
[28]He also overlaid the cherubim with gold.
[29]And all the walls of the temple all around he engraved with diverse carvings and turnings. And he made in them cherubim, and palm trees, and various images, as if these were projecting out, and going forth from, the wall.
In the following verses, Solomon also had the walls of the Temple decorated with carved images of angels, palm trees and flowers.
    Ezekiel 41: 17-25
41:17 To that above the door, even unto the inner house, and without, and by all the wall round about within and without, by measure.
41:18 And it was made with cherubims and palm trees, so that a palm tree
    between a cherub and a cherub; and every cherub had two faces;
41:19 So that the face of a man was toward the palm tree on the one side, and the face of a young lion toward the palm tree on the other side: it was made through all the house round about.
41:20 From the ground unto above the door were cherubims and palm trees made, and on the wall of the temple.
41:21 The posts of the temple were squared, and the face of the sanctuary; the appearance of the one as the appearance of the other.
41:23 And the temple and the sanctuary had two doors.
41:24 And the doors had two leaves apiece, two turning leaves; two leaves for the one door, and two leaves for the other door.
41:22 The altar of wood was three cubits high, and the length thereof two cubits; andthe corners thereof, and the length thereof, and the walls thereof, were of wood: and said unto me, This is the table that is before the LORD.
41:25 And there were made on them, on the doors of the temple, cherubims and palm trees, like as were made upon the walls; and there were thick planks upon the face of the porch without.
    1 Kings 9:6
9:6 But if ye shall at all turn from following me, ye or your children, and will not keep my commandments and my statutes which I have set before you, but go and serve other gods, and worship them:
    2 Chronicles 7:19-20
"But if you turn away and forsake My statutes and My commandments which I have set before you, and go and serve other gods and worship them,
Lot bowed and Protrate his face to the ground unto the two Angels. Respect lord not Lord.
    Genesis 19:1-2
[1]And the two Angels arrived at Sodom in the evening, and Lot was sitting at the gate of the city. And when he had seen them, he rose up and went to meet them. And he reverenced prone on the ground.
[2]And he said: "I beg you, my lords, turn aside to the house of your servant, and lodge there. Wash your feet, and in the morning you will advance on your way." And they said, "Not at all. But we will lodge in the street."
Joshua of the covenant of the Lord God.
    Joshua 7: 6
[6] And Joshua rent his clothes, and fell upon the ground before the ark of the LORD until even, he and the elders of Israel; and they poured dust upon their heads.
The people of God bowed down before king David to show him honor
    2 Samuel 24:20-21
[20]And looking out, Araunah turned his attention to the king and his servants, passing toward him.
[21]And going out, he adored the king, lying prone with his face to the ground, and he said, "What is the reason that my lord the king has come to his servant?" And David said to him, "So as to purchase the threshing floor from you, and to build an altar to the Lord, and to quiet the plague that rages among the people."
    1 Chronicles 29:20
[20]Then David instructed the entire assembly: "Bless the Lord our God." And the entire assembly blessed the Lord, the God of their fathers. And they bowed themselves, and they adored God, and next they reverenced the king.
    1 Chronicles 21:21
[21]Then, as David was approaching Ornan, Ornan saw him, and he went out from the threshing floor to meet him. And he reverenced him prone on the ground.
Obadiah fell prostrate before Elijah showing him reverence for being a prophet of God
    1 Kings 18:7
[7]And while Obadiah was on the way, Elijah met him. And when he had recognized him, he fell on his face, and he said, "Are you not my lord Elijah?"

    Exodus 19:5
[5]If, therefore, you will hear my voice, and you will keep my covenant, you will be to me a particular possession out of all people. For all the earth is mine.
    Revelation 22:13
22:13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
If God truly condemned the making of graven images in the "Second Commandment", then He must have changed His mind later in the Old Testament.
    "Catechism faith"
Sacred art is used to evangelize, catechize and inspire. It is also used to show reverence and honor for God and His Saint. When a Catholic kneels or bows in prayer before a statue, they are not worshipping it in any way whatsoever. They are using it as a person might use a picture of his family - to recall them, even pray for them, when he is not with them. He obviously does not consider a picture of his children as being his actual children, but simply a reminder of them. And so it is with sacred art in any form. It is used ultimately to raise our hearts and minds to God - to aid us in prayer [honoring/venerating the Saints and asking for their intercessory prayers will be a future topic].
The making and use of religious statues is a thoroughly biblical practice. Anyone who says otherwise doesn’t know his Bible.

Long Live His One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. God bless You! also the reason for paintings, pictures, and statues was to teach and explain the message of Jesus to the illiterate world. Jesus sent his Disciples to Preach and make other disciples to Preach, He didn't tell them to write anything down and for the first hundred years there was no New Testament or Bible. even after the Catholic Church, Bishops, and Councils selected the books out of hundreds, organized it, and named it the Bible it would be over 1000 years before it was translated into different tongues for others to try and read and interpret 2 Peter 3:16. setting aside the fact most of the world was illiterate and had no access to scrolls!

The Christian Church used the Greek language book of Jewish scriptures called the Septuagint, which was translated by seventy scholars at Alexandria. It included seven books that were written in Greek rather than Hebrew. The Greek version was necessary because most Jews in the first century understood Greek rather than Aramaic or Hebrew. It was estimated that the Roman Empire was 10% Jewish (roughly 5 million people) at the time of Christ, most of them converts or the descendants of converts. Luther removed those seven books in part because the Book of Maccabees taught that it was a good thing to pray for the dead.

It's people with your kind of attitude that I don't care for. I say this because you're criticizing the Catholic faith without ever really going to any Mass (or did you go to any actual Mass before?). What you really need to first do go online to Google and type in something like "Biblical references to a Catholic Mass" and by going through some websites you'll start to realize just how much of the Bible is being recited. You then need to read books like "The Incredible Catholic Mass An Explanation of the Mass" by Fr. Martin von Cochem because things are explained and Biblically backed up. You should try listening to people like Dr. Scott Hahn because he can really explain with great detail the truth about the Catholic Church with great detail because he wasn't always a Catholic but converted to the Catholic faith after doing his own research.

+Tim Spangler I'll agree that the history of Catholicism hasn't been perfect but please show me another Christian religion that is 100% perfect. Also please show me any other religion that Jesus himself started and I'll be happy to check it out. Consider Jesus did say to directly to Peter "And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it." which is obviously Matthew 16:18. What other Christians don't stop and think about is this verse was said to Peter by Jesus himself even though the Catholic Church was founded in 33A.D it was founded by Jesus Christ because of this very biblical passage. Martin Luther didn't even start his church until 1517, the church of England wasn't started until 1534 by King Henry VIII and so on. What I'm trying to get across is all of these other Christian churches weren't instituted by Jesus himself but by someone else. Even though the Catholic Church has "added doctrines in large quantities" they are flooded with biblical references just so that they are soundly backed up. What other Christian church has practically everything that is said throughout the church service (in this case it's what Catholics refer to as the Mass) come directly out of the Bible? That's right even the Mass is significantly backed up by the Bible. Have you ever been to an actual Mass? If not then why don't you go just so that you see for yourself and if you know your Bible verses very well then you should recognize a good part of the Mass. If you don't want to attend a Mass then that's your choice but don't be ignorant towards the Catholic faith until you have actually experienced being at an actual Mass. You may not like it or you may find it interesting just don't judge the Catholic religion until you've experienced it first. The errors of Catholicism were never done by Jesus the true founder, but by some of the other people after Him.

    • @taramilne9465
      @taramilne9465 8 лет назад +3

+Alfred Abraham I'm Catholic. What I'm also trying to make you see is that what would of happened if the verse Matthew 16:18 was something that Jesus still said but to one of the other Apostles instead of Peter? If Matthew 16:18 was said to Thomas then wouldn't Thomas be the first Pope instead of Peter or if it was said to John then wouldn't John be the first Pope and so on? Jesus himself had His reason for picking Peter (who by the way is just as human as you and I along with all of the other Popes after him) and we'll never fully understand why Jesus picked him because we weren't living at that time. Because Peter is just as human as you and I along with all of the other Popes and because none of the Popes are perfect this is why there were horrible acts committed within the history of the Catholic church along time ago and even now. The one thing that so irritates me is the fact that the media will focus on priests that have done horrible things and how all that stuff was covered up especially when Benedict XVI was Pope, but at that very same time there could have been more good priests around the world that weren't recognized for all of their good deeds. The Catholic Church needs a lot of well educated good priests so that all of the other Catholic can witness the unbloody sacrifice that is made upon every around the world Altar each week so that all of the believing/faithful Catholics (especially devout Catholics) can receive the body and blood of Christ each week or even each day if they choose. Without priests none of the sacraments can be given to any Catholic at any given time. All of these sacraments have Biblical proof of why they are performed and why they exist.

Peter B. please read all the Bible and understand Catholicism before cherry picking scripture. I believe scripture is divinely inspired but to the unwise eye it seems to contradict. here's one for you scrutinize against the verses you posted: 1 Corinthians 7:32 I want you to be free from the concerns of this life. An unmarried man can spend his time doing the Lord's work and thinking how to please him.
      1 Corinthians 7:33
but one who is married is concerned about the things of the world, how he may please his wife
1 Timothy 12 Deacons must be husbands of only one wife, and good managers of their children and their own households
NOTE: The Church has Deacons and Priests, Deacons can do all priestly duties but cannot consecrate the host and yes they can be married. Oh and we have accepted Anglican (married) priests into our flock now too. I suggest doing a little more research.

I don't believe that because the church came before the Bible almost 400 years. Meaning there is a faith which I choose to follow. When this specific "subject" comes up one has to consider historical facts. One is free to believe in what ever they want but when folks attempt to discredit ones faith without using investigative method, it's mute. take if you're a boxer and you follow the rules in the rule book of boxing which were written by boxers and someone comes along and tells you well you can know use legs and elbows, well it stops being boxing and becomes MMA, not authentic boxing. Constantine spoke Latin, not Old English. The word Easter comes from the Old English word Eostre. As for the Latin form of the word, "Pascha," it comes from the Aramaic "Paskha" and the Hebrew "Pesah," which both refer to the Passover.

Honest truth is very very simple! If you want to follow Jesus you need NEED to submit to HIS will, for Jesus is Lord! To do less is to repeat the original SIN. that is basically to say "I know better then God!" Given the great number of confused interpretations of the Bible out there this means a need to look back to the very early Church! When you do you see a very defined picture of early Christianity:
I dose not practice Bible alone, because we see bishops being likened to Jesus in that they are to be listened to, that Christianity might be united.
A church that is confronting many heretical ideas! Hence the need for the bishops.
A church that has lasted century after century growing in it's understanding and theology.
A church that places great importance on the " medicine of immortality".
A church that believes in both the divinity of Christ and his full humanity.
A church that is very reverent of Blessed Mary!
    A church strongly against divorce.
A church that prays for it's dead, as the Jews did.
A church that does not allow females to be priests. Yet still sees them as divinely valuable!
Reading and knowing this early church for your self dose two things. It helps to understand the scripture, from those who were taught by the apostles! It also provides a clear picture of the early church, YOU must discover for YOUR-SELF as it's your soul on the line! I ask you now, are you recommitting oldest of SINS? Do you "know better then God"? I do not, and have found my own answer. I bear my cross of persecution, because I follow what after discovering the early church is undoubtedly the church Jesus founded!

Richard Peterson Hallelujah! The Anglican convert John Henry Newman once intoned, "To be deep in history is to cease to be Protestant". The writings of that first generation of disciples who received the faith directly from the Apostles, who had themselves received it directly from Jesus Christ, are still extant. And when you go back and read them, you realize that the portrait that emerges doesn't look anything like ANY of the myriad of Protestant denominations, but is the very "image and likeness" of the one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church.
The Lord Himself said, "Thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build My Church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it". The seed our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ planted, the Apostles watered; and the shoot they left, grew and matured under the direction of the bishops and the apostolic Tradition left to that first generation of disciples; and that sapling grew and matured until it came down through the millenia to today.
The Lord Jesus Christ promised to send the Holy Spirit to His successors and on Pentecost the Holy Spirit animated the Church and became "flesh of my flesh and bone of my bones", His Bride, His Body,
"For no one hates his own flesh but rather nourishes and cherishes it, even as Christ does the church, because we are members of his body. 'For this reason a man shall leave [his] father and [his] mother and be joined to his wife,
and the two shall become one flesh.' This is a great mystery, but I speak in reference to Christ and the church."
      cf. Eph. 5: 29-32

I'm catholic and this guy is rude, "We must never offend the faith of others." -Pope Francis. He should do his research cause it really is simple. For one thing, we DO NOT worship statues and priests should devote their lives to God thats just one reason why they can't be married.

Alexandra Maria Does the truth offend you? How did Jesus speak to false teachers? Matthew 23:1-39, 15:1-20, 7:15-20, 21-23Was the apostle Peter married? Matthew 8:14

      @zandiethimm1573 9 лет назад +2

The passage does not mention Peters wife, only his mother-in-law and the gospels make no mention of Peters wife living or non living. His wife must have died before he was called to be an apostle. Clement of Alexandria said that St. Peter was married, and had children and witnessed his wife's martyrdom in Rome. That was recorded in St. Eusebuis’ The History of the Church. You can read the whole thing on catholicstraightanswers.com

Alexandra Maria The RCC often poo-poos biblical-in the bible teachings. Like Deut 5:7 (Mary and "saints"), 5:8 statues and pictures, Like the JW WT and Mormons the RCC claims to be God's representative on earth. Traditions that violate scripture are an offence to God. CCCC, BOM, WT literature etc. Should I stop teaching the JWs Jesus is God the Son? Or telling Mormons the BOM is a satanic book. (Satan, means slanderer, Lucifer means angel of light, - can disguise himself as an angel of light. 2Cor 11:14)

I'm a born again believer. I believe the Bible from cover to cover. I was Catholic till age 27. I studied deeply the Catholic teachings, prayed the rosery, delivered the Eucharist to shut ins and traveled to medjugorje, Yugoslavia to witness "Mary visions". I have have experienced much in Catholicism.
The gentleman in this video acts more like a comedian than a preacher. He is not presenting himself "in fear and trembling" and thus comes across as foolish. What he speaks about in part 1 is abstract and not worth a video. I did not watch the other videos as this one is terrible. I will say however, this is not "hate speech". An example of hate speech is the religion that cuts off heads if you don't convert. Let's not misuse a term due to a poor presentation.
For the rest I say this: Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
    James 4:8
Do not think because you did something first you have all the right answers. The Jewish leaders of Jesus' time thought the same and Jesus tore them to threads. Religion or pride in it doesn't save anyone. Seek the truth. "Thy Word is Truth".

    • @protiebuster
      @protiebuster 8 лет назад +1

+Tom Abts AND NOW YOUR A MORON being born AGIN IS BEING baptized ...
A Born Again Belongs to man made churches.
      A Christian belongs
to the Church founded by Jesus Christ, the Catholic Church. (Mt.16:17-19)
      A Born Again hates
the mother of Jesus Christ, accusing her of being worshiped, had other
      children, sinful and an idol.
      A Christian honors
her like how Jesus Christ honored and respected her. (Lk.1:28, 48)
      A Born Again sees
Mary as a competition against Christ
      A Christian sees Mary
as his loving mother and a sure guide to Jesus Christ. (John 2:1-12, John
      19:26-27)
      A Born Again Sunday
worship is aimed to be emotionally touching and entertaining.
      A Christian Sunday
worship is solemn and sacred. It is not entertaining because the center of the
Holy Eucharist is Jesus Christ not ourselves. (Matthew 26:26-28)
      A Born Again sees no
      importance in good works.
      A Christian puts his
faith into practice by living a life filled with good works (Mt. 25:31-45,
      Rom.2:7, James 2:24)
      A Born Again
arrogantly boast that they are already saved and they can no longer lose their
      salvation.
      A Christian before
God accepts his weakness and failures and by God's grace hopes to be saved like
that of St. Paul. (Titus 1:1-2, Titus 3:7, 2 Corinthians 4:16-18)
      A Born Again forgets
      about their dead
      A Christian believes
that baptized individual (living or dead) are members of the body of Christ
(unless by their own wrong doing severed their unity with Christ). (Heb.12:22,
      Rev.4:8)
      A Born Again Believes
that sufferings are punishment for sins
      A Christian believes
that suffering is a virtue wherein uniting our sufferings with that of Christ
makes us a better disciple. (Col.1:24)
      A Born Again
proclaims himself to be forgiven from all his sins
      A Christian confesses
his sins to the priest as mandated by Jesus Christ. For it is not the priest
per se who forgives us but it is Christ through the priest. (John 20:22-23)
      A Born Again believes
in the Bible alone and his personal interpretation of Scriptures.
      A Christian submits
himself to the authority of Jesus Christ through the Church. (Mt.16:17-19,
      Mt.18:18)
      A Born Again has no
      assurance of receiving God's grace

Peter B. Actually, you've got it exactly the wrong way around. When Martin Luther invented his "man made traditions" of "sola fide" / "by faith alone", and "sola Scriptura" / "the Bible alone", not only did he add words to the biblical text to justify his theological innovations, he removed seven books from Tanakh, and attempted to remove both James and Revelation because they also had things in them that didn't comport with his novel reworking of God's plan of salvation.

Peter B. That is according to your interpretation of scripture and faith tradition. I can make the same accusations about Protestant churches. Not a single non-Catholic church in my area refuses to marry a divorced person, something explicitly condemned by Christ. According to Catholic systematic theology and tradition there is nothing in scripture that contradicts Church teaching, only according to your personal interpretation.

The statement Sola Scriptura is misunderstood by Catholics and Protestants today. The statement simply means that the bible is the source of all spiritual truth. If you take the literal meaning of sola scriptura then that gives the false impression that no extra biblical sources are to be used. However, like the reformers I believe that all truth/doctrine must be tested by scripture. This is how we have any knowledge about our faith in the first place. It seems to me to be common sense.

I dunno mate. I'm just basing it on what I've read on news websites such as Lifesitenews and the several other 'Catholics' I have encountered in my now 17 years of life. I don't mean that everyone is a bad Catholic, and I'm not saying that I'm a good one or that I "do good and sin not." But without a doubt, and this is not only my opinion but of several Catholic apologists and clergymen as well, the church is in a serious crisis today because of poor catechesis of both lay and some clergy.

Excluding that denominations formed in the late 1800's, some denominations were formed because they revealed a new truth that was not comprehended earlier but maintained a common truth that Jesus is our only intercessor. For example, the truth the Lutherans uncovered was salvation by grace. The truth that the baptist uncovered was baptism by immersion. Unfortunately today all the churches had fallen because of Satan and because of the Jesuit counter reformation theology.

Al Hilford you would be better off coming to Jesus as he commanded you and Jesus is knocking at the door of your heart and he wants to come in and abide with you forever. Revelation 3:20. Saint Peter gave us the steps that we need to take to become members of Jesus body the church. Acts 2:38 onwards. Repentance from serving the world and sin and turning to Jesus alone and being baptized into Jesus and being filled with god’s Holy Spirit. Baptism always followed immediately after believing and is always full immersion in water as it is a burial Romans 6:2-6. By renewing our minds by god’s word we become disciples of Jesus Christ while making other disciples of Jesus Christ. The early believers who were all Jews who believed in their messiah Jesus broke bread daily from house to house, healing the sick and preaching the gospel of Jesus

There was a process involving men, whom God chose to choose -- through the inspiration of The Holy Spirit -- as to which books and letters would be included in The Holy Bible: Do you know the name of the Church that those men said that they belonged to? It would be the same Church God chose to work through, right? Thanks for your answers in advance. Peace.

Doesn't it seem odd that Jesus would (1) change Peter's name to rock ("Kepha") and then (2) immediately talk about another rock ("Kepha") on which He'll build His Church...but that ISN'T the person He's just renamed to "Rock"? Seems like rather bizarre behaviour.
I think the passage also makes much more sense if Jesus is the builder ("I will build...") and Peter is the rock ("You are rock...."). Otherwise the metaphor is a little unintuitive, Jesus being both the Rock and the Builder.
