Dear Tara, I think real art is about communication between the artist and the ‘consumer’ of the art. The painting really spoke to Don McLean. And his art is a piece of music that speaks to us. In your song, I heard it all. Vincent’s vision and McLean’s understanding and message. It was so much more than a catchy tune and a theme. This song has always been a favourite of mine. I know I’ll be back again to hear your version.
Dear Tara, Such a beautiful rendition of Vincent. Thank you! I'm so glad someone requested this song. I agree, it is an absolutely lovely song. The song and the painting are both emotionally moving. I wonder if you know the song "Who knows where the time goes"? It is by Sandy Denny (who originally sang it) and Eva Cassidy does a beautiful version of it as well. Wonder if it is a "you song"? If so, I'm adding it to the request list! All my best, Kathy
Tara, what a beautiful story teller you are. With that angelic voice, and relaxing guitar playing you take us listeners to a special place. Thanks Jeff from Wisconsin.
Thank you for your beautiful version of Vincent. While you are discovering Don McLean I'd like to recommend to you ""Crossroads" from the same album. Written for piano it may not shift well to guitar. But it's beautiful, and prayerful. My late wife introduced me to it when we were dating in the early 80's. Since her death in 2020 I have sat and listened to it many times while I remember her. As a living room guitarist I enjoy your music so much. Please keep it going.
Thank you for listening, Don. I'm so sorry to hear that your wife has passed but I think it's beautiful that you're able to remember her with music. I will listen to that song today. Have a wonderful weekend.
I don't want to come off as stale, but this is another one, in my opinion, that you nailed. You do an excellent job. I know you like sad songs, I think you mentioned it before. Would you consider playing "He Stopped Loving her Today"?
It makes me marvel at how your voice is strong and gentle at the same time ...
Love you and thank you !!
Sublime vocals and playing - well done - you have inspired me to learn it 🙂
