We've always known the unicorns are magical creatures, so they adapted, becoming the narwhals. So like you, I've always believed they were never really gone, it's just nice to know they are still with us. May it always be so.
What a gorgeously creative way to portray God's care for his beloved creatures that he transformed the mischievous unicorns into narwhales. A great foreshadowing of his purpose to transform his freshly people into his heavenly spiritual bride.
For my 5th birthday my parents took me to see you guys in concert. I got my record signed and everything. Then, on my 21st birthday, my parents got me tickets to see you again. I was raised on your music, so was my son, and my granddaughter will as well.
@@TheIrishRovers American here..i play the Unicorn song every morning in the car when i take my Shih Tzu for a walk down by a lake. Every morning he looks at me like oh no..not this song! I was born in the late fall of 1978. I was given The Unicorn Record Album by the Handsome, Charming, Entertaining, Funny, Legendary and Extremely Talented Singers and Musicians, The Irish Rovers when I was four. I still have it! I later bought The Unicorn Record Album on CD! I sang The Unicorn when I was four at our First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ Church Variety Show and also for the PTA at my elementary school while in kindergarten the same year in Northern Kentucky! This is the first time I have ever heard this Amazing, Awesome Sequel Song and seen this Amazing, Awesome Video! I Love It! The Irish Rovers should have been Knighted in the 1980's and should be Now! God Bless The Irish Rovers Forever!
We go back with the Rovers 49 years with their appearance in Cleveland, Ohio. My son turned 13 on that trip and they sang Happy Birthday in the middle of their show. He never forgot it, nor did I. Saw them in Newberry, SC a few years ago and told the story!!
I had "The Unicorn" on a 45 (or maybe a 78) when I was a little kid. This song was on the charts in the US the year I was born. I'm thankful for the "Continuing Story of The Unicorn"
Grew up listening to the original song with my mother and now I get to share it and this fun sequel with my daughters 😊 Thank you! P. S. My 13 year old and I listened to this for the first time a d she yelled me "see I told you unicorns were real!"
I listened to the Rovers when I was a little girl in Newfoundland, Canada. Just loved them and the Unicorn Song. So great to hear a continuation of the story! It's great!
I think The Irish Rovers is the main reason I love the music of Ireland so much. I hope the neighbours can't hear me belting out "whisky in the jar" or "Wild Mountain Thyme". The Unicorn has always been my favourite though. Well that and Puff the Magic Dragon!
We told you how the unicorns were stranded on the shore As the ark sailed away forevermore But have you heard the tale how they changed and swam away And they're splishing and a-splashing to this day? This makes me unreasonably happy to know the unicorns of my childhood got a happy ending after all. Used to sing the original song with my dad on long car trips, it holds a special place in my heart. I wish I could call him up now to share this with him 🥲❤️
Did not expect to cry from this, lol Thank you. My dad raised me listening to this band and many other Scottish and irish folk bands. I've known the unicorn song my whole life. This sequel just touches me deep and I love it so much
There is always an Irish Rover somewhere, especially on You Tube. Any Irish music is great for cooking and dancing around the kitchen. ;) This Swimming Free is lovely also.
Just forwarded both songs to my daughter. She’s in charge of VBS. It would make a Great idea for VBS. Disobedience, God's mercy, Transformation to a new being in Christ. I remember the Unicorn song from childhood. Just found the part 2. ❤️🦄❤️
I love how they did this is fantastic then there's the Irish Rovers they would come up with a great idea fantastic now the kids in the world won't be so sad
This is good. My theory is if this would have been released before the end of 45s and top 40 radio, this would have been a hit. These days, you have to either accidently come across a song like this or someone has to tell you about it. I just happened to be listening songs from the 60s. I remembered the Unicorn and listened to it and I saw a comment from the Irish rovvers that there's a sequel coming out.
Yeah sadly true I just heard the unicorn song for the first time on the radio and fell in love with it and I came onto the RUclips and of course it recommended the sequel so not too bad eh.
I love a happy ending. Who doesn't? I have loved the original song since I was a small child, when it first came out; so glad you lads gave the story this sequel. Thank you for all the years of music! Happy St. Patrick's Day!
I feel like the greatest burden of grief has finally been lifted from my soul. I loved the original song as a kid but it broke my heart. Now, I can finally know peace ❤🤣
I can remember as a child back in the early 70s watching these guys television show! I was fascinated by their music! It's hard to believe that 50 years later I'm still fascinated with them.
So, the narwhal is to the unicorn as what the komodo is to the dragon. Maybe someday we will earn God's favor again and our beloved mythological beasties will return. There is much they could teach us about life and co-existing. Thanks for the song and the ray of hope, Rovers.
I love the rest of the story! Bless you boys! Been a fan since I was a kid and your show was on in the Detroit area. I have seen you 3 times - more than any other band and I have some of your music.
I hope my mom heard this song before covid took her. The original song about the unicorn was one of her favorites. She used to play it for us on a 45 record.
@@TheIrishRovers I honestly started crying and couldn't finish the song. I had to come back later once I composed myself. I will be sharing it with my children who grew up listening to me sing about the sad unicorns who were left behind. Wow THANKS FOR THE UPDATE. BEEN SAD ABOUT THOSE POOR UNICORNS MY WHOLE LIFE. ALWAYS A DEBATE IN THE PUB ABOUT THE CRUELTY OF THE ORIGINAL.... so this is exactly what was needed! BLESS YOU.

As a child you all made me laugh during the stint on prime time, as a teenager/young adult parting to all those hits the bridged both generations and cultures, now a middle aged grandfather again a fine piece. You guys stills impress and inspire me. Keep on, keeping on.
A wonderful song that is both a joy to listen to, and easy to sing along with. Another example of why the Irish Rovers are one of my favorite groups. Thanks for sharing the chord progressions as well as I love to play these songs when it's just me and the dogs in the house.
I wanted to hear a song called the Irish Rover (an old song from the 50s maybe, not the 1 by the Pogues Some of the lyrics "He whistled and sang till the Greenwood rang and he won the heart of the lady". Has anyone else ever heard it? Google hasn't
