That is not the way to use it "properly". No one started bridging the channels until the late '70s. Clapton, Kossoff, Hendrix, and everyone else who originally played Super Lead plexis when they were new did not bridge the channels at all. Most plugged into the High treble channel and ran all knobs on 10. In Clapton's case, he plugged into the Normal channel to achieve a darker tone. Even Van Halen did not jumper his channels. Bridging the channels is not a way to achieve the authentic sounds of the bands that popularized this amp.
