I finished the book last night, and as you explained here the ending is devastating. At first, the book was funny and luminous, full of love and beauty, but when Martin achieves wealth and success is terrifying how empty all those things he dreamed, manifest in reality, even love turns into a vulgar lie. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, I really needed to hear something about this work.
so is there like some way... to find this version of the book with this specific cover art illustration for example, if its a print in a specific country like in the usa or canada somewhere? because am living in uk, just cannot find it over here thanks for the book review btw ! it was very appreciated
I just finished reading Martin Eden and happened to stumble across your review. I could not agree more with you about what a masterpiece of literature this is. I bought a paperback copy of it in Amsterdam a few weeks ago, but did not realize until I got back home that the font is so small that I almost need a magnifying glass to read it.😆I absolutely love the cover of the copy that you have there, but have not been able to find it online. Can you tell me what the ISBN is so that I can more accurately look for it, maybe I'll get lucky. Thanks 👍
@@the05pimp Aha, I did see the Romanian language edition with that cover, but assumed that the edition you had was in English. This cover so visually depicts the ending of the book. Thanks for the info👍
Hello, I never read this book. Before approaching it I read that most critics consider it compelling but simplistic at the same time. Do you agree on the lack of complexity?
Perhaps, but there is elegance in simplicity. The lack of complexity does not change the fact that what is written is true, compelling and that the last 1oo pages or so will indeed crush your heart.

Thanks for the comment. I've read this book almost ten years ago and the shock of the ending still hovers in my mind to this day.
I like how the front artwork has a hand submerged in water and the back artwork just has the empty water.

I think if someone in Romania buys it and ships it or brings it to you.
I really like this one.

I bought it recently. I can't wait to read it!

My copy is a 1984 Romanian edition, so it doesn't have an ISBN. Any edition will do as long as you can read it without problems.

Great review thanks 🙏🏼
Love your review. Thanks! Now I really want to read this book by myself
Thanks *a lot* for the review
Thank you very much :) Good job
How did Martin get in Ruths house ?Who invited? Please tell me !
I don't know. It's been about 10 years since I've read it, so the fine details escape me.
Martin saved the Artur's life from bandits. Thus, Ruths brother invited him
Read it and find out. Hopefully nobody was dumb enough to tell you 😂
Absolutely accurate review 👍
