I like Shelby but there are times when she really irritates me. It's bad enough that she had a affair with her ex boyfriend's father (who's also married) , she had to go after Caleb's brother. But just when I got over that and began to like her character again, she had to marry Ryan. Marrying her best friend's ex fiance is too weird. They don't suit. Like most people, I ship Ryan with Alex. Plus Caleb and Shelby belong together.
On the second thought the scene doesn't seem as clever. I don't know all the circumstances of the scene, but it looks like the writing pad is available to both of them. What's the point to send morse code if she could write on the pad? In a slightly different setup sending morse code this way would make sense, but not in this scene.
Are you guys actually looking for accuracy on this show. As someone who has been through the FBI I can assure you that nothing in this show comes close to reality.
I think she copied wrong from Shelby's finger taps. It's much easier to copy from a sidetone than clicks or visual cues. She copied what she had written and interpolated what Shelby was saying. I do that when on the air sometime.
