This Vid was released 1 year after the death of the last survivor of Bismarck. The memorabilia in the office and the compass were his. The fishing boat skipper is his son...
Sabaton got two Animated Story Videos for two Songs. Night Witches and No bullets fly, they are amazing but they make you cry. These are Song and Background Story of this Song together.
Floor’s husband is the drummer. This is my fav Sabaton song. 👍🏻👍🏻. "The price of a mile" is epic too. Since we know you’ll be back to Nightwish, we might as well introduce you to another female fronted band who’s vocals will just make your jaw drop… Within Temptation- Angels ruclips.net/video/4ifTjdKrTPw/видео.html
I found their song Night Witches really interesting too. A fact about the war I had never heard of before - you just have to appreciate it. Any History teacher should use these to spark discussion & interest. :) Also Yes, Floors' husband is the Drummer :)
Saboton almost exclusively sing songs about military history throughout the ages, and have an excellent history channel where they explain the stories behind them with experts. And they ROCK 🤘
You would love Sabatons 'No bullets fly'. An emotional WW11 story. Also 'En Livstid I Krig' live in Gothenenburg. That's about the 30 year war. Lyrics turned on for that one is a must!
My mann Sceptical Hillbilly, excellent pronunciation of Jansen❤. You're the first person I've com across, that actually can say the Name right. And I should know, I am dutch, like Floor. Love your reactionvideo's!
SABATON is a SWEDISH HEAVY METAL BAND, formed in 1999. Characteristic of the band are the lyrics that almost without exception are about historical wars, battles and characters. HANNES VAN DAHL (DRUMMER) from SABATON is FLOOR JANSEN's HUSBAND from NIGHTWISH and together they have a Metall CHILD FREJA..always nice to know.😇 What a Great Band. I am a fan of NIGHTWISH and SABATON. Beautiful music with a large audience, with a lot of Powerrrrrr💪💪💪 And they always tell You a story. Awesome!!!! Thank You so much. Love from The Netherlands ❤🤍💙🇳🇱😘
The video was made in collaboration with Wargaming, who makes World of Warships. They had earlier joined the World of Tanks with great success, so when they came back and asked if they had something for WOWS they remembered that the fans had asked for a song about the hunt after Bismarck.
"I didn't know they put thiese amazing sinematic shows together" - the video is a collab between Sabaton and wargaming, the producer of the game World of Warships. Sabaton's videos are normally not this high production values.
So Sabaton has a history channel with Indy Neidell that gives the background to a lot of the stories that there songs are about, I think you would enjoy it as well. Generally I prefer live performances but if you enjoyed this music video then I can not recommend enough their collaborations with Yarnhub: "Night Witches" & "No Bullets Fly".
I once had the honor of speaking to a WW2 vet who had, unfortunately, mistaken me for his son. His son had enlisted in the Navy in the 50s, where I was in the 00s. He told me of what he did during WW2, and I just had to play along. He told me about how I left him, and refused to see him, up until then. No financial support or even just visitation. Eventually, the nursing home staff allowed me to slip away but I can't forget his face or his sadness when he asked why I(his son) didn't visit him. I hope his actual son at least attended his funeral.
Hi Skeptical Hillbilly! I'm late to the party but just wanted to add my vote to everybody recommending Sabaton and their RUclips history channel. (Like many, I'm a fan of the song and video "The Night Witches".) As everybody already pointed out, the drummer for Sabaton, Hannes Van Dahl is married to Floor Jansen (who I believe met him on tour.) This forces me to mention their unbelievably cute living situation on a little farm in Sweden. The barn is converted into a recording studio for them both and is where Floor recorded all her covers during Covid isolation. Hannes is the camera guy (and has noticeably improved over the last year or so.) It's also where Hannes films Floor's Fan Friday one minute long videos. (Not every week, but most recently this last Friday.) Their household includes: An Irish wolfhound puppy named Fenris (already huge), A horse and a pony (Floor loves to ride,) two cats and their pre school aged daughter, Freja. Their RUclips presence is so wholesome it makes me (a 45 year old dude) happily ship them in a non creepy, non stalkerish way. Anyway, another great reaction! I'm confident that your journey into experiencing music that's new to you will inevitably wind up exposing you to other female fronted bands like Epica and Within Temptation. Have fun!
hi from northern ireland ...great reaction...check out Devil Dogs,,,its about the US Marines in WW1,,also their history channel give all the stories behind their songs
There are so many other Sabaton songs/history lessons ... I liked Night Witches, but it may be out of the normal sequence' that some might suggest. "When I was at college..." ... uh, don't give it away too soon, my friend. LOL
Heard you talking about you meeting survivors. I would def recommend you to react to Screaming Eagles that actually deals with the battle. Sabaton always make sure that the content in their videos are historical correct...even down to clothes and gears used at that period.
If you like your Sabaton then you should check out 82nd All the Way...........then check out the cover of it done by Amaranthe........same song, different slant, both equally as good as each other..........then you'll want to check out some of Amaranthe's own work.......can highly recommend "Digital World"
Love this song but you should definitely check out two of their others, Night Witches as well as No Bullets Fly. Check on the story versions as a military guy I just love those two
If you love historical rock ... sabaton is the weapon of your choice. The have their own history channel on youtube, to explain some Storys behind their Songs. Their songs are mostly about man's unfortunately favorite hobby. Warfare. It's about heroic deeds, no matter on which side of the warring parties and how war can bring out the worst, but also the best in people.
Sabaton has used Floor for some backing vocals too. ruclips.net/user/WorldWarTwo is a week by week News Show style recounting of WW2 (they did a minute by minute on Pearl Harbor) and the people doing that, also do Sabaton History channel with Indy (host of WW@ and either Per or Joachim hosting the history behind the songs. It all started when Indy and Sparty of Time Ghost were involved with The Great War channel doing a week by week 100 years after of WW1, and they did some stuff with Sabaton and their WW1 songs, and the idea hatched.
Look at that, a nice hillbilly who is listening to good music and knows the worth of history. Greetings from a german hillbilly and historian who even wrote a scientific work about the second world war years ago (sooooo...i may be an even bigger nerd for that part ). Keep up your journeys in ''devil music'', especially european metal bands often use historical events, sagas and legends in their songs, you may find a lot of gems there. I recommend checking out ''Warkings feat. The Queen of the Damned - Sparta'' as a very modern example other than Sabaton or back to the roots of historical metal music with something like ''Iron Maiden - Alexander the Great'' to feed the history nerd.
Fields of Verdun....it was a battle in WW1 where the French army had Paris behind them and said "They shall not pass" and the battle lasted 303 days Also Attack of the Dead Men. This was in WW1 when the Germans knew that the Russians in this bunker had no gas protection so they gassed the base. Then roughly 7000 germans advanced towards it when all of a sudden a couple hundred Russians charged them and the sight of these Russians coughing up thier lungs and on the brink of death it terrified the Germans and they retreated.
Hi . I like to Hell and Back and 82nd All the way. They were both turned into movies. To Hell is also a book. In the movie the main actor is also who the book is based on. Floor's husband is the drummer. He sits on a tank to play his drums. Hannes and Floor joined their band officially in 2013. His previous band was Evergrey and you should react to them. Jaoquim says he could sing higher but doesn't want to. I hope you noticed the watch at the beginning and at the end. The old guy was the grandson of the kid that came out of the water with the life jacket
Great reaction. Anyway, can i request your reaction to superb band from japan? The band is call "Lovebites" They all The Beautiful Queens heavy metal band right now in the earth. They are really really World class musicians. Phenomenal. And they have a lot diehard fans like me😁. The fans called Wolfpack. The song is "Set the world on fire" Hope you check out, and can enjoy it too. Big thanks🙏

Or why not keep the Nightwish theme... WITHIN TEMPTATION & TARJA TURUNEN - PARADISE
Since Tarja Turunen is Nightwishs original female singer...
@@JanOlofSvensson love that song too, but am not a Tarja fan, so… 🤷🏼♂️🤣
@@johnlanham9057 🤘
Hannes Van Dahl, the one pounding on the drums in this video, is Floor's husband.
Sabaton - en livstid i krig live in Gothenburg (with subs)
Hey, you should definitely check Ayreon The Day That The World Breaks Down official lyrical video, awesome thanks 😀request

Check out Sabaton history, for every song they release they do a history lesson episode that’s very well done
and not only for each song, sometimes even entire areas not covered by songs, really nicely made
Dude, from rural NC, you NEED to watch Sabaton live "Uprising" Live at Woodstock in Poland!

You pronounced Floor Jansen just about perfectly!
Wow, love that tapestry on your wall, wish I had something like that!

Sabaton Christmas Truce is a wonderful song.

When the Bismarck emerges from the fog…that was BAD ASS.
It's called power metal
hi from northern ireland ...great reaction...check out Devil Dogs,,,its about the US Marines in WW1,,also their history channel give all the stories behind their songs
Nice Johnny Horton reference. Listened to his 8-track a lot when I was little. Such an under-rated voice. Great reaction.

Sink the Bismark is a old black and white film 1950s / 60s you might get it on youtube ..

Then you would love their song Screaming Eagles about the 101st and the battle of the bulge.
Since you're into history, Slayer - Angel of Death is about Josef Mengele.

For an American I would suggest "82nd all the way" about Sgt. Alvin York or maybe "Screaming eagles" about 101 AB and the siege of Bastogne.
