Thanks for this Lewin. Probably unrelated but I’ve spent many hours working with Waves Tune (Big Sur) on a vocal and Saved As new version. Horrified that the tuning was all out! Even tho I’d frozen all the tracks. Luckily I could return to a previous version and quickly exported/merged them to desktop and relief all ok. You had probs with this?
if apple can't update without glitches then why mess with my computer. this is stupid. I should of stayed with protools

I am having a problem getting GarageBand to recognize my midi keyboard. It used to work fine. I have an old Clavinova, and I use a Fore brand midi to USB connector, then the USB to lighting adapter for my 2019 MacBook. I don't have the latest operating system on my MacBook. Not sure if there is another way to see if the computer is recognizing the keyboard. The Fore adapter seems to be lit in a way that shows a connection. Any suggestions?
My question to you, since it I cannot seem to find it, is can I record in a 48khz sample rate? I do voice over, and the industry standard is 48khz due to animation and such. All i can find is that GB records in 44.1khz, but that information is years old.

I tried this. My instruments still sustain with no sustain on them. The notes will just keep on and then stop playing new notes. Any ideas?
Every time I try to open up Garage Band, I get a pop-up from Reason asking me to log-In. Except I don't even do business with Reason so WTF. It WILL NOT GO AWAY! Can anybody help me? Thanks
Reinstall as first solution is bad advice. Especially if you are running an older operating system you might get in big trouble.
Just ditch those DAWs.
Lewin, I have followed you for many years and have found your knowledge and Garageband tips invaluable. I must say I am doubly disappointed with this video. In the past when endorsing audio plugins or sound equipment you have made a point of saying at the beginning that you were not paid for your endorsement of the product. I take it that, in the absence of such a disclaimer in this video, it is not the case with Clean My Mac. My second disappointment is that you are endorsing a product which many Mac experts say (to put it politely) is unnecessary. Or am I missing something here.
Oh man I'm sorry to hear that. I am MOST definitely not being paid by the Clean My Mac guys. I found the program through my dad and I like it a lot. I asked my Mac tech guy what he thought, he ran it through all his tests and said "Ya know, I think you found the one good program that does what it says and nothing else."
So I keep using it and it helps a lot. One of my favorite features is the "Free Up RAM" part. When I'm mixing a big project, but may have also been using my video editor that day or something, a lot of things continue to run in background and eat up RAM, by clicking one button, I can shut them down and Garageband works well again.
It's also useful for basic Mac Maintenance, finding and deleting large old files, Flushing DNS files when needed etc.... I like it, that's why I put it in the video. And again I PROMISE you, this was NOT a pair endorsement.
I actually made this video about 3 times, I seem to have forgotten the disclaimer. Sorry!
