Singing different lyrics is unhelpful to any comparison :O
give me the 40 and waves bundles ... and we good bro lol
You are entirely correct. $400 is preferable. You must make a significant investment in your carrier. $40 will undoubtedly equal $400. As soon as you have enough money - I believe $4000 is too high of an order. I enjoy music in general, and my ears are suited to all of these sounds, and hey! You have a better vocal than the rough-raw in this video. Kudos!
its hilareous how many times over the decades I have seen a young kid do a comparison like this. I have compared all those microphones.. best way to do it is to guarantee you have done no post processing and similar optimal gain for each, tell the audience which pre-amp was used. a cheap preamp certainly won't distinguish a high end mic as well as a good one. but then you'd want to record a full drum set with each microphone, a guitar with each mic, but a vocal like this where the audience doesn't even know the original voice tells them nothing.. for all we know the voice frequencies are well within the limitations of each microphone, not enough dynamic diversity in the content. Not enough frequency variation either.
Can’t really make a fair comparison when you process your voice anyway
Bruh tell em
Kind of proves a huge point eh? Who cares how the mic sounds. "Can you track and mix properly" is a far important question than "which mic sounds better"
@@kyronnewbury best comment
Came here to say this
Its over-processed too
-says different lines for each mic
-puts background music
-edits his voice
-different distances for each mic
-video gets compressed by youtube
-me listening with 2$ headphones
And end compressed by YT

I have to admit I feel alot of compression on the 4$ one. Starting from the 40$ one its lesser.
Let's be real. The $4 mic should never be compared. Simply because it's running off an unbalanced 1/4 (attached to it) while the rest are balanced XLR.

I noticed other than the highs and lows range improvements, the static sound went down as you upgrade to the higher priced ones. 400 was pretty good for the price and the 4000 was the best but still had some static but I guess you can remove that using a software.

400$ personally sounds the best in my opinion for some reason
When you listen to the 400 dollar mic it sound more tiney (as in tin can sounding) compared to the $4000 mic. This isn't a bad thing tho and it complements some voices well
it just fits his particular voice best)
I have the 4000 dollar mic and I can tell you it’s worth way more than 4000. With the right settings(since you can blend tube and fet as well as a bunch of other stuff) you can can get almost any kind of sound you’d like. True advice to yall. This isnt going to make any comparison considering he has put an effect to enhance his singing voice plus he isnt even testing it. He is just singing different lines for each of the microphones along with keeping them in different distances so overall this isnt a comparison rather than him saying "Hey guys give me some views while I put a pointless title and sing with my crappy voice with autotune set on the highest level."

First of all. Very much disagree with the people saying, there is no noticable difference.
I know I will find a lot of disagreement on this (if anyone actually finds the time to read it XD) ... but like... the first microfon has so much in your face editing on it, which already proves that it is ... well.... a 4$ microfon doing what you would exect it to do.... To have any chance of saving that you would need a izotope RX which sets you back around 200-600 bucks as you can just hear the noise come in as the gate opens. It also just ... does not sound good... like... it sounds amazing for 4 dollars with the edit... but... that is that... you can straight up hear audio artifacts.
(Overall questionable to mix a vocal for a comparision but this has been talked about in a comment by shoking already so I will not)
40$ honestly could work with that.. noise floor is still a bit high and the sound still is not very refined.
400$ is just a freaking nice mic... Love it. In my personal opinion from between 500-800 bucks you kinda reach that point where price to sound improvement does not really match up anymore HOWEVER
when we get to those really high numbers, you are less so paying for sound but for versitility... Multiple polar paterns included low cut and attinuation and a sound that has been refined so much that it will at least fit any voice, which you can not say about most mics around 600 bucks. They might work well with some voices but not so much with others.
In this case, the lewitt can switch to a lot of kinds of polar paters has multiple stages of attinuation multple different tube sounds and a dry wet mix for that tube to clean signal all of those being remote controlled, allowing you to get really really close to the signal you have in mind for the mix saving you a lot of time in the editing later on and therefor saving your client a lot of money (in a studio situation, which those kinds of mics are made for.. professional working enviroments)
So yeah. If you look at it from a time saved point of view. That extra money will pay of with time.
From a client perspektive, a cleaner input sound will also just make them more confortable with their singing.
Sorry for the essay
The difference is the amount of chips inside the unit to help it reduce and organize different noises such as white noise cancellation. If you listen the White noise gets lower and lower and lower.

As a producer for over 20 years I've been telling people there isn't much of a difference once you process your vocals the fans don't really don't care as long as they can hear the vocals and it sounds good and this is a really good song
Yes, but haveing a high quality recording with a good S/N ratio makes it a lot easier when you have to do mixing and mastering. I think of a microphone as more of a tool for the engineer/producer than for the singer because the singer is going to perform the same regardless of the microphone but the people doing production and post production are gonna have a hard time especially if the vocals arent as heavily processed.
@@simplegaming8075 not really if you know what you're doing recorded on so many different mics both liver performances and I the studio the equipment doesn't matter even if it is singing you just have to have an ear I've even recorded songs with a cheap computer mic and no one knew so yeah it's all about how good and skillful a producer is
