    • @synyster_nate
      @synyster_nate 5 лет назад +22

      That’s because mark would only do the stuff you don’t see every day, and by that I mean as far as, Mark would only do an original 64 strat, not a new custom shop 64 strat, lemmo stays more loyal to the name of the day, if it’s straturday, by god we’re doing a strat. Old new doesn’t matter. On Saturdays we play strats. Where as Mark wouldn’t do one if he didn’t have a cool vintage one. He would rather do something else that’s vintage and cool that he felt wouldn’t be around long enough to do another day. Can’t say which I prefer, they both kill GTOTD in my opinion, one isn’t better or worse than the other

      @MrErdner 5 лет назад +17

      @@synyster_nate To be honest, when you start talking about obscure little tiny details on the subtle differences between one Strat and another, my eyes get glassy. Frankly, I'm POSITIVE (Michael wants us to stay positive) that GOTD would be better if they'd get past the cutesy nicknames for the five days, and just pick the best rare, vintage, and noteworthy guitars available. Think about it. Two days dedicated to two different Fenders, no days dedicated to Les Pauls, SGs, or any of the other Fenders and Gibsons that aren't Strats or Teles. A day dedicated to flat top acoustics, but no day for archtop acoustics. A day dedicated to basses that almost never has a bass. And a schizophrenic day dedicated to either Gibson Electric Spanish guitars, or to weird ass guitars. I've gone on the Norman's Rare GUitar website several times to look at some of the great, old, super vintage guitars they have for sale that will never be on GOTD. I'm POSITIVE we'll never see a d'Angelico. That one pre-Gibson acquisition Epiphone was a great guitar, but we'll never see any of the great old Epiphone archtops in Norm's store. Gretsch made some great guitars back in the day.. Do we see them? They have a Gretsch Country Gentleman signed by David Crosby! We'll never see it on GOTD. They have a Guild 1964 DE-500 Duane Eddy. It'll never be on GOTD. I realize that a lot of the guitars on GOTD will be Gibson and Fender electrics and Gibson and Martin acoustics. But does it have to be something like only one that isn't one of those per month? I'm POSITIVE that a little more variety would be a good thing.

    Beautiful looking Strat. Don't understand why they can't paint them like that nowadays. they must've forgot how. Great jams.

      I totally agree. EPA cracked down on anything that may impact our environment. Hate the plastic-y new finishes.

      Yeah I understand that. But I'm talking about the clown burst I think that's what they call it. The three tone sunburst doesn't look like that anymore. I look all the time at the new ones. If I find one this color I will buy it.

      Back then they weren't pumping out as many, better quality control and people had more pride in their work. Painters just aren't as good. They do it, send it out. Unlike back in the day, it wasn't common for them to reprime over it if they weren't happy and do it again, haha.
