Protesters took over the streets of downtown San Diego to call for justice for George Floyd and against police violence, joining nationwide protests this weekend.
I hope everything remains peaceful and no one gets hurt. Every city doesn’t need to be disrupted or destroyed over something that happened in Minneapolis.
That’s weak. It takes the attention away from the cause. At this point, a lot of people are only watching, or even ignoring the whole thing, because it’s become a spectacle of looting and property destruction. I don’t know anyone that takes that seriously
I’m a RN and I just got off of work three hours ago. It took me two hours to get home. I have been working with COVID patients in ICU for three months and I’m fuckin tired! If I know I have to care for a hurt looter who caught covid. I will NOT BE HELPING YOU! I will refuse to help you. My dad owns a store that does not want to get looted. He has been waiting for months to finally open. Then this shit happens! I’m caring for someone mom, dad, grandparents and child!
These protesters got the Coronado Bridge shut downed. Being stuck on the Island where there's like 3 restaurant (2 of them closed at 1600, and one closed at 2000) with no delivery. the closest restaurant was 10 minutes away is now 45 minutes away. Doesn't really make people want to listen to whatever message you're saying.
Blocking roads, bridges and transportation ways/routes helps absolutely nothing. In fact it only causes more distress, emergencies and even can create further costs and expenses for things. Get off the damn bridge, get out of the road. Grandma or baby may be stuck in an emergency stuck in the car and can't move because of these road blockers.
This may have started peaceful but in the end, they did loot, they sprayed graffiti and threw bricks at the police officers. Of course, the mainstream media doesn't show that part of it.
Chaos? Like what? Shooting protesters with pepper balls, spraying them with pepper sprays, hitting them with batons? There are just doing their jobs. They don't even know who's who in that crowd, it might be someone with a gun or a explosive device of some sort. Most of the peaceful protesters were affected of the dumb shit that the others are doing. Like throwing random stuff at the cops and hitting them back, don't expect that the cops wont hit back. Try watching the news where they filmed it at the front lines, you'll understand.
Couldve resolved this in a peaceful way so the cops won't cause "chaos". Let's be honest here, most of em aren't there to seek justice for the death of George Floyd.
And probably they don't even live in that area nor an actual US citizen. Even probably got arrested by cops before in the past and tried to retaliate back.

Let’s fight for those that can’t fight for themselves without looting, burning and destroying communities. Let’s march peacefully together. An old saying still rings true, “treat each other how you want to be treated.” Whether you believe in God or a higher power. We all must learn that change only comes from within and in order to make a difference we must lead by example. Let us all serve as a blessing to others and be a positive example to those around us. Despite the bad deeds of those that are being caused by those around us, let those actions not overshadow the true reasons behind the end goal WE are all Trying to achieve. This is the time for change, and let the message not be smeared by the actions of those who are ignorant but rather carried and voiced by those who truly want CHANGE and JUSTICE for all.

bobby dunn...Peaceful assembly is just that...peaceful. No rioting, no burning, no blocking streets so travel is impeded. I doubt you have ever seen a peaceful assembly or would ever want to.
Lived in San Diego 17 years. The police there have a trigger happy issue but I never saw racial issues in San Diego. Too many people with autism and other processing issues shot and killed. They need far better training in that. In Chula Vista I saw racial issues by the police against Hispanic people that was unjust. Mostly unjust harassment type behavior.
