Hey Pandora! I had very small piece of Yellow fabric in my stash, which is why I had to cut multiple pieces. But you can cut one strip out of a bigger fabric.

So you stitched the whole thing closed and then seem ripped the opening? Just wanna make sure im understanding!

Hi Holly
Initially, while handstiching, I stitched it all without leaving any opening. However, i left about 4 to 5 inches unstitched when i used the sewing machine. So if you watch at 7:14, the stitches i ripped opened were the rough hand stitches.
At 7:41, that's the inner side of the letter left open to turn over.
