I love the fact that, as super talented as he is (singing and songwriting), he's not what we're used to seeing superstars be he's humble not flashy don't need any dancers or any big production in his videos or concerts. Let's the talent speak for itself.
He is masterful in every way. I loved this song so much when it was sent to radio as a single and was so upset and disappointed that it did not get the radio play it deserved. I love all the different songs he has written, so many different interesting topics he writes and sings about. He is also very humble and respectful of other artists and writers. He is very unique, and I am kind of obsessed with his music.
His playing is great. His song writing is great. His voice is transcendental. His appreciation and incorporation of other genres makes him even more special.
He puts so much feeling into every song! I love the songs, but I think it’s just his voice that gets me!? My girlfriend took me to see him for my birthday it was a great show!!
It's really hard to say what I like best probably his voice but the fact he makes what I consider real music but his passion is on another level makes you feel every lyrics.
💯 Chris Stapleton's bluesy, gritty, soulful voice is absolutely incredible‼This mans music has actually changed my life‼His vibe is authentic, different, special & unique from everybody else‼🔥 ☮ ❤ 🎶
"Headphones on on a downtown train or a window seat on an outbound plane. Is it L.A. sunny or Memphis blue? I wish I knew." Fan-frickin-tastic writing.
Chris Stapleton in this video looks like he stepped away from his shift at Jiffy Lube changing oil to sing this song. And then that voice comes out of him. Lolz love it
Otitis Redding is 1 of my sol time favorites. How did they over look Chris for so long. First time I saw him live tears rolled down my face most of the concert his voice is beautiful.
He's a legend. We will be celebrating this man for many years to come. He drips of soul, funk, country, blues...and so much more. One of the best to ever do it. Damn, he sounds good here.
Following him from Steeldrivers and Jompson Bros, I feel in love with this when it debuted and remains sentimental as the first. Hard to imagine now this song did nothing and it was another 2 years for Chris to be who we think of him as now. As for the best part of Chris, I’ll go a different angle and say it’s Morgane. Yes he’s got soul, yeah he’s got that voice and buckets of talent. How do you pick just one? So I go with the commonality. I’ve never seen anyone like Morgane is for him. She’s his muse. She’s his inspiration. She’s his partner and there’s a lot to be said for that.
Great song, singer and lyrics. Thanks for the reaction Burt. My favorite stanza is; Is it headphones on a downtown train Or a window seat on an outbound plane Is it LA sunny and Memphis blue I wish I knew, I wish I knew What are you listening to?
Wishing you the best, Burt! Those battles in your own head can be the toughest! I'm listening to "Gray" by Jesse Daniel. It's a great song about wanting better for yourself. The whole album is fantastic.
GREAT REACTION AS ALWAYS BURT!!!!!! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. YOUR REACTIONS ARE PRIMO NO DOUBT. OUR MUSICAL TASTES SEEM TO BE EXTREMELY SIMILAR. GOOD FOR YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL.
He and a writer named Lee Thomas Miller. So yes it is one of his originals. I listen to a lot of Southern Rock and some newer Country which I think has a lot of connection to the Southern Rock sounds.
One of Luke’s big songs is called “Drink A Beer” which was written by Chris Stapleton for Luke. I like some of Luke’s songs, some I don’t really care for. However, that’s how I am with any artist. There are artists who I love all of their songs, but for the most part my love is for the song! As for Chris Stapleton, the man is in his own lane! The first thing that I love about Chris is his voice! The man has a voice like no other! I love the fact that he doesn’t do “music videos“ like everyone else. He loves getting on the stage alone, or with drums and another guitarist. He gets out there and just sings! In my opinion, he is a trifecta! He has a God given talent for songwriting, singing and playing the guitar! Most of the songs that he sings, or written/cowritten by him.
I am not much for mainstream country right now accept Chris but I appreciate anyone's hard work. Goodbye Dear Friend by Deer Tick is beautiful. This would be a popular song on the radio with him it turns into something full of emotion.
What music do I listen to? I’m all over the place! I’ll bounce around from 60s to today. Although, there’s not a lot of current songs that I have any particular liking to except for Chris Stapleton! I just love good music!
Hey can you check out and react to Mason Horne's Take me back. He's a great artist that was great friends with my older brother, practically grew up with him. He still lives in my home town and he's got the south Carolina charm, his music reached more to new country but he's got deep roots in his music, I think he would be perfect for you to check out
I once wrote song's like they were just another piece of paper to be written on but then it all stopped one day after I introduced my ex girlfriend to a microphone and music to sing to. She somewhat blew up in her own "Ego" and the music just fell asleep for me. I still believe that I could write again but havin the right person or inspiration could make the difference for me personally. I've blended music with outside sounds and other things but nobody to really believe in me or what I was doin so I gave it up over twelve years ago
Somewhere out there he has recorded a whole album in 2013 with this song on it. It was never released. This was one of the singles that he was out promoting at this radio station but they ended up not releasing the album. They’re saving that for the box that I’m guessing…..
Where do I start? How about the first sound he made? I don't know how to explain it, but his voice thrills me. I read a lot of comments, and he seems to have that effect on so many people. I love his soft song, "Whiskey and You," and his rowdy "Arkansas" one, just as much. What I don't like is when he screams. Right now I'm listening to Billy Strings. His voice just keeps getting better and better, and he is already a great guitar player. Bluegrass has always been a favorite form of music to me. I just finished reading a new book about Merle Haggard, so I figure I'll be listening to him a lot. I am also enjoying Colter Wall's music. I know all those cowboy songs from way back. When my mother passed, I put John Denver on.
What am I listening to? And what does it say about me? I went down a Chris Stapleton rabbit hole again recently - I do that every once in a while when I need to hear in his voice what I’m feeling in my body. This time it led me to Joy with Santana, which led me to that collaboration album, Blessings & Miracles, which has been motivating me in the mornings.
Maybe I watch too much too news (definitely) but I’ve been listening to Black Sabbath- War Pigs. I also live in the Midwest and sometimes you just have to get mad to shovel more snow.
Ok, hear me out, when he says “is it one you can’t help singing along, singing whoa oh oh oh oh”. I think the way he sings it sounds like the way Lionel Richie sings whoa oh oh oh oh I’m Penny Lover. Tell me your thoughts please.
I don't think you get the meaning of the song. He's playing a song that was "their song"--thinking about an old lover. He's not over it. Is she listening to that song too? Or is she singing a love song about someone new.
What makes Chris Stapleton unique?
Soul. He makes music to be felt not sold. That makes his music sell but it's not designed to be a big hit and immediately fade out.
His voice . His soul as mentioned below as he makes you feel his pain , happiness and grit in every song he sings.
His voice
He tells a story with every song he writes. It's a whole journey start to finish and I'm there for the whole ride everytime
I love the fact that, as super talented as he is (singing and songwriting), he's not what we're used to seeing superstars be he's humble not flashy don't need any dancers or any big production in his videos or concerts. Let's the talent speak for itself.

He can do it all!
This is without a doubt my favorite Chris Stapleton song. Brilliant lyrics!!!
He puts so much feeling into every song! I love the songs, but I think it’s just his voice that gets me!?
My girlfriend took me to see him for my birthday it was a great show!!
His soulful voice, he can really write beautifully, he's my legend ❤❤❤
The bridge makes this song IMO. One of his best written bridges ever.
Thinking of old friends from 40 years ago, listening to Please Come to Boston.
It's really hard to say what I like best probably his voice but the fact he makes what I consider real music but his passion is on another level makes you feel every lyrics.
His authenticity and humility. His voice is once in a lifetime.
I believe it is their song. A love song.
It’s my favorite Chris song.
💯 Chris Stapleton's bluesy, gritty, soulful voice is absolutely incredible‼This mans music has actually changed my life‼His vibe is authentic, different, special & unique from everybody else‼🔥 ☮ ❤ 🎶

Chris's voice is "Next Level"and his words touch your soul!
Preach!
He's a legend. We will be celebrating this man for many years to come. He drips of soul, funk, country, blues...and so much more. One of the best to ever do it. Damn, he sounds good here.
Preach Jesse!
Favorite thing? Soul
I agree. Only his voice can sing this song and make it so real.
His absolute love for his wife and kids and not afraid to let everyone know it
Voice + the heart. Chris is just the greatest at getting at the heart of a song.
Love that and couldn't agree more Terry!

You never heard this one?!?! It's one of my favorites of his!
Never had before!
I'm listening to Chris's newest album, Starting Over. 😍
Whiskey sunrise Chris Stapleton
Great song, singer and lyrics. Thanks for the reaction Burt. My favorite stanza is;

Love that part!
Wishing you the best, Burt! Those battles in your own head can be the toughest!
I'm listening to "Gray" by Jesse Daniel. It's a great song about wanting better for yourself. The whole album is fantastic.
Chris Stapleton wrote "Drink a Beer" for Luke Bryan.

One of my favs to torture myself over old memories too 👌🏼
You ole tortured soul you!
i've been listening to nothing but the new LDSB album on repeat, it's an absolute masterpiece
It is so good! That first song rules me!

I like his grit and real life sound. On another note...I like your sewing stool lamp. I had the stool but never seen one with a light. Cool.
Thanks Fiona and I love his grit too!
Great video Burt!
I'm currently listening to "Broken Hearts & Dirty Windows: Songs of John Prine, Vol. 2". Great cover album.
I'll check it out!

I've been listening to Low down rolling stone by Gary Clark Jr recently ... But Stapleton his whole vibe is out of this world crazy!
Love me some Gary Clark Jr! What About Us is my forever jam.
@@SongwriterReacts I just saw him live Friday in the city

Pick it back up Gary. For you. Us songwriters need to write for our own well being.
@@SongwriterReacts I'm sure that you can understand what writer's block is and it seems to me that's where I'm at
I always thought that lyric was "99 miles on thier guitar" 🤣🤣 Pretty sure I am still going to think of it that way.
Love that lyric too!
The answer to your question about which Stapleton song to react to next is "You Put the Hurt on Me" from his Steeldriver days. You won't regret it.
FYI Chris Stapleton wrote for Luke Bryan
Keeps me running -Esther roses
It’s just a snappy tune
Thanks for the rec Austin!

I really love is early group, The Steeldrivers.

Check out some jelly roll. I recommend the whiskey secession,
But rather only the heartless live would be a great starting point.
Songwriting specialist, hangs onto notes
Hi burt what guitar is that hanging in the back ground? Thanks.
