Here is the great NASCAR Next Gen Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 from Hendrick Motorsport at the 24h Le Mans 2023. The Garage 56 Entry was driven by no other tha Jimmi Johnson, Mike Rockenfeller and Jensen Button!

The fact that the Garage 56 which is not made for Endurance Race is 4 secs faster than the entire GTE cars and survived longer than some of the Endurance built cars.

I was there in-person, and I can tell you that as great as this sounds in the video, it cannot capture the rumble I felt in my chest every time it when by. Nor does it really capture the “here comes an ass-kicking” nature of the sound as it approached. The Cadillacs had a great rumble as well, but still not as cool as this car. And the Europeans loved it.
Come to a NASCAR race next time you visit, where they go a consistent 185-210mph, and there's 36-40 of them fucking hammering it wide open. You need earplugs, it'll blow your clothes off and the stadium shakes. You'd have a blast I've never seen it get competitive like other contact sports, just everybody having a great time

@leedavis1 you have to come see a NASCAR race in person some day. When there are 40 of them at full song flat out and they come by is a whole different experience, it's truly an epic sound.

Yes - this really conjures images of Cars 2 and I'm glad they made it a reality through the G56 Camaro. Man imagine if the next NASCAR entry goes Jackson Storm style with more GT3 specs yet retains the stock car vibe but with a rear wing.

yes... they should have painted in in Lightning McQueens colors and billed disney for being a sponsor.
They finished 39th place where they started. Surprisingly ahead of many GTEs and hypers. The nascar held its feet and place until the end which is absolutely amazing.
And probably would have done better if their engine didn’t blow up and have to be swapped!

Everything about this car was so raw. The sound, the loose rear, the ferocity and the non stop flaming exhaust. Absolutely loved it!

Not to mention it had 100 more hp than every other cars on the grid, yet only finished 39th. Looks like NASCAR still has plenty of bread on the board. 😅
@limpetarch98k yea other than they completely wrote this car off and wanted to start it behind the GTE cars since it wasn't going to keep up. Then completely destroys them. Also it had less hp than normal nascar specs so I would say they over achieved by a massive margin.

It was also 200lbs heavier than the GTE's and almost a full 1000 lbs heavier than the LMP2 cars, and had less downforce than any of the other cars on the track. Horsepower doesn't mean anything if you can't keep it on the ground. A 200hp civic with all of the aero in the world will wreck a 500hp Mustang with a stock body in a road course. Of course, you'd know all of this if you'd ever set tire on a track. Looks like you're too busy with video games to ever try though.

Garage 56 nascar was so successful it almost stole the show from the LMDH's, even ppl with not a lot of interest in motorsports where tuning in to just see where the nascar was and it was all over social media. Hope they build on the Garage 56 class even expand it a tiny bit to just get some wacky cars back at Le Mans.

Bro I’m not a fan of v8s but hearing this in Le Mans is crazy good. The underdog where everyone thinks it’s gonna break in the first hour only to shut everyone up and crossing the line at the end of the race is such a great story

Someone who watched NASCAR for as long as I can remember, and discovering the 24 hours in 2011, I never thought the day that a Stock car could not only participate but legit fighting for positions in LeMans was insane, and the sound... Not a Sunday in the regular in NASCAR have I ever gotten bored of it.

OK. But NASCAR as a ruling body won't allow the teams to improvise and tweak their cars like they were allowed to do at Le Mans. And that's a shame - because if they did permit it, then you would see innovation return to NASCAR instead of the cookie-cutter approach - and a much better product on the track for the fans would result. As it is, NASCAR's ruling elite won't risk it because they would have to share power.

Glad our friends in France got to see and hear what is so great about stock car racing. I know they've probably seen a couple SB2 cars put around the track, but not a current Cup car being driven hard like this.

The funny thing is... they used to be louder.
No way. The Gen7 is the loudest Cup car to date. It’s literally just an open header exhaust system. All the older generation cars had longer, tuned exhaust systems that generally sounded better, but were a bit quieter.

The only thing I would have done different would be to make the car #3 instead of #24.
It was a 24 because Hendrick was in charge of making it, or at least designing it I think
