While I have every version, the Gameboy Color version is an easier introduction with fewer enemies on the screen; the Genesis version does have the invincibility code which can make practicing dodging enemies less of a hairpuller without the repercussions; but I'm with you, if for anything than for familiarizing with those two versions/methods first, and then being able to enjoy the stellar SNES rendition and the often overlooked GBA with extra content :).
I was a big arcade fan. Sega was huge at the arcades. For me sega was it, I rode with them 32x, sega cd, Saturn, Dreamcast. I also had Nintendo but I was team sega.
Of the ones I've played: Nes > gbc > genesis > super > ultimate > resurrection Nes ghosts is ingrained being my second game after super mario brothers. Still play gbc today, no cart battery! Genesis was excellent for its time but it was about to get 💩 on. Snes was revolutionary for graphical gimmicks like molding the ground beneath your feet. Psp was ultimate for a long time. Resurrection upgraded or changed the visuals depending on you but combines both goblins and ghouls in a polished and refined way while adding cool magic, difficulty settings, multiplayer. It's a really impressive G'NG game, it just didn't look massively impressive next to a lot of modern games unless you knew what you were looking for. Gbc wins for me.
This kind of begs for disambiguation with the title mixups and omissions... Makaimura-Ghosts 'n Goblins (arcade/NES/GBC) Daimakaimura-Ghouls 'n Ghosts (arcade/Genesis/Supergrafx, and a very different Master System port) Chou Makaimura-Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts (SNES/GBA) Makaimura for Wonderswan (Wonderswan, and is its own unique game) Arthur to Astaroth no Nazomakaimura (Saturn/PS1, a puzzle game akin to Incredible Machine) Ultimate Ghosts 'n Goblins (PSP) Ghosts 'n Goblins Resurrection (all modern platforms) Then, the spinoff franchises of Gargoyle's Quest and Maximo... I mean, everyone has their favorite, and I'm not here to tell anyone they're wrong, but there's just a lot more to this series that got a lot of confusion in naming here. Personally, give me the Genesis Ghouls 'n Ghosts, becausr it feels closest to my favorite Capcom arcade game, Black Tiger, which was a sort of spiritual successor in its own right, down to the controls and armor/undies situation...
@@SecondOpinionGames1 Definitely; the best is the GBA one. There are people who are Sega fans and no matter how much you show them evidence, their blind fanaticism will lead them to say that Sega is better. There is a channel dedicated to VS in which, "oddly enough", Snes never gets the credit it deserves. Even in cases as obvious as MK2 where the Snes version is superior in EVERYTHING, fans like this one above will say, "but Sega is better." They are boring.
Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts is not a version of the genesis "Ghouls'n Ghosts", Super Ghouls'n Ghosts' gameboy advance version merely has redone levels from previous games, doesn't really make it a "version" of ghosts'n goblins or ghouls'n ghosts

Thanks 🙏
There are so many versions, and I have no idea what the version was when I played it as a kid.

A Dreamcast g and g would rock 🪨
Honestly, the double jump doesnt matter much in Super when losing the ability to aim up and down feels like a MASSIVE downgrade...
The PSP one is the greatest imo. Especially the reissue. Good video
True 😀🙏
Great vid, love your stuff
I never knew Super on Gba was like levels that are remixes of every games levels, thats pretty cool

Master system had a version.
I forgot about it ☹️
@@SecondOpinionGames1 not sure if it wad realised here though. It was in Europe.

I’m saying the best is the gba game 😃

Great vid♥️
You forgot about the saturn/ps1 japan only port.
This was just a excuse to play through the GBA game
Did you know Ghosts 'n Goblins isn't the same game as Ghouls 'n Ghosts!?
Daaaam this game rocks!
It sure does 😃
Have you played the new game?
Not yet but I hope to soon 😀
supergrafx...
It’s not that super 😃

Do gargoyles quest next!
That’s a good idea 🤔
The Commodore 64 version has the best music.
Love the g and g music 😃
Snes and better GBA versión, are superior versions.
