You guys are great. Dedicated father and supportive son. I love it. Iron dad spent years becoming a master and still maintained a great relationship with his son. Not many can say that.

This reminds me of my mom teaching me Jewish cooking, now I mostly cook Japanese food (minus seafood due to allergies) she now teaches my nephew how to cook Jewish food while I help cause she’s older (70’s) and forgets things and I teach him Japanese cooking. He loves going to the Asian market and learning about new ingredients even if he won’t eat them (7 and picky) but loves to cook it and has his own cooking set up in our houses
watched iron chef growing up. the man is a legend and hes so nice to share his craft with his son. great chemistry. And yes he is a genius like Morimoto
When I was in Japan I spoke to a chef who had been preparing A5 for decades and asked him the best way to cook it. He just said a slither of beef fat for the oil lightly coating the pan,a gentle amount salt and pepper med-low heat and gently browned. That's it. He said adding any more to it ruins the natural flavour it already has.
I feel this is accurate. One time, I cooked both A5 and regular prime rib eye, pairing them both with a dipping sauce. The prime rib tasted amazing with the sauce but for the wagyu it did not enhance the flavor at all, taking away from the experience instead compared to just salt or salt+pepper.
They use wagyu fat or high quality butter if they do add oil. Some chefs don’t use any oil for A5. It’s too rich to eat large amounts if by yourself so it’s served with other dishes and sides.
Great video but please make more of ones to enlighten people. I stumbled upon someone complaining in your comment section about loosing job and seeking for help. Having multiple income sources is very crucial to financial growth.
Ideal words. Investments have always been the best alternative; having multiple investments increases your benefits and provides you with other revenue streams.
I realized the benefits of investing. My source of income had previously been my job. But I lost my job when the pandemic started and I had to live with the little I had in my savings which really affected my plans.
This is exactly what I'm talking about. For the past four years, my income has never been dependent on any firm or work place, because I chose to invest and the more money I get the more I seek for new investment opportunities.
I'd actually gotten an American Wagyu steak for my wife for her birthday (so, not an A5, but still very nice), and she'd wound up cooking it to medium-rare by accident. I'm definitely sharing this video with her so that we can have a better sense of how to handle that kind of meat. Even so, the steak came out beautifully tender and delicious.
Lol I'm sure yours was better, that dude was trying to make a steak into a sushi dish, raw beef fat , is raw beef fat.... Dude can cook some good stuff but I wouldn't want him touching my wagyu personally
The fat in A5 is different from stuff like choice. It renders more easily. Also this is clearly not raw. Really rich how people are telling an iron chef that his dish is raw lmao This is also not sushi. Sushi dishes require rice…
@Hanson I have eyes bro , looks like meat before you cook it. I mean people love sushi too, nothing wrong with that, but get a kid to eat that shit he just cooked.. lol They don't have bias or informed bias, or knowledge of dudes resume...kids would be honest
Last time I tried to make A5, the person who bought it insisted that seasoning/saucing it is against the rules haha. They also wanted it super rare, so... ended up with an under seasoned, unbrowned steak that honestly made me a little sad. I'll try again one day.
My dad and I have been working together on a new supermarket selling goods that are close or past to their best-before date. It's so nice working with family. I hope you enjoy it.
