She finally broke free and released her debut album independently. Then went ahead and won 6 Brit awards (a record for any artist, ever) for that album. There’s a clip of her response to winning that is so incredibly adorable and made me cry. She also performed a medley of her songs live at the Brits which was stunning. She’s so good live. 🥰
Some songs are straight dark pop (Escapism). Some are R&B (Hard Out Here). Some are Blues (Mary Jane). Some are EDM (Black Mascara) and some are very experimental (Environmental Anxiety).

Not really my thing but she reminds me of Chinchilla a bit, similar attitude and combines rap with singing. I thought the jazzy part of it was good, but most of the rest mediocre. Oscar winning tears is possibly a better track of hers! Edit: The Warning have done a great cover of Alanis Morissette’s song You oughta know; it’s absolutely amazing!
