I am lucky I'm old enough to have lived this in real time. The CIS win really felt good. God I miss this era. I was an Ally McCoist fan and footballers were still people we could feel connected to.
Been saying for so long would love this uploaded to your channel! I used to watch the VHS a lot after winning a copy in a Daily Record competition! Thanks for sharing! 👊👍😁🏴⚽️❤
For all the talk of glorious failures, this tournament and Germany in '74 were the ones where we really did deserve better, where we just didn't have that bit of luck you need (see other home nations in major tournaments for examples, not to take away from their achievements though). Probably the most depressing thing is knowing what happened next in the qualification for USA 1994. Although way more depressing is knowing what happened in the 22 years since France 1998. When will it end... Nonetheless this is a nice document of a proud moment for the national team and the country. The Swedish Police escort in Scotland shirts were a class act and really summed up what we brought!!
*Scotland at Euro 1992:* *Scotland vs Netherlands 0-1 (1st Game)* 0-1 Dennis Bergkamp (75 min) *Scotland vs Germany 0-2 (2nd Game)* 0-1 Karl-Heinz Riedle (29 min) 0-2 Stefan Effenberg (47 min) *Scotland vs CIS States 3-0 (3rd Game)* 1-0 Paul McStay (7 min) 2-0 Brian McClair (16 min) 3-0 Gary McAllister (84 min (PK))
Fair play, at least it wasn't as intrusive as the 98 WC doc where they were filming inside the dressing room before the game & half-time, which I thought was just ridiculous as they should never have been allowed to film at those times in such important matches. An interesting watch.
03:35 - ' I felt if we allowed the Bulgarians to attack we'd be in big trouble so we decided to attack them" - oh for such way of thinking in Scotland these days !
Didn't even know this existed. Cheers Josh, Chris and Michael 😅

What a great hour of footage. I was 3 years old and can't remember this, but it's nice to have a wee look back and see what a great team we had
Who wants to see more on that umbro factory and the kit making process?

QK brought me here. Can’t believe they’ve forgotten about Umbro
We had this video. It was good. I hope Scotland gets through to major trophies again.
Back a couple days before the Euros, weve done it 😂🏴

Anyone else who can’t wait for the euros
1 point from 3 games. 1 goal in 3 games. Bottom of the group and away home in no time. Hope it was worth the wait.
The qualification group was very tough
Bellissimo.
@10:30 cutting about in 5 year old "wet paint bench stripe" kit in training. Never let it be said the Scots are tight !
Maverick Pat Nevin style of continental dribbling play almost being bought by PSG to team-up with Weah & Ginola in the early 90s.
Class player.
@@rosemaryfarell5264 yes he was .underrated

Super ally needs to hold that fishing rod lower when he's spinning
why is mccoist wearing number 5 ?
24:08 Steamin' 🤣
They'd only had a couple 😂
Why are the players still wearing Mexico 86 shorts in training?
Good teams on paper from the 1950s all the way through to 1998 - then an abyss of smegma
How come Mcleish was there but not playing?
Mad Headbanging Nationalists.
