hello, as a kid i watched a lego short animation on youtube and forgot its name, it was about the heros in mech suits that while digging a tunnle they find a nest of monsters, the monsters were dragons and such. basically the main plot was that the big monster mother was trying to protect the eggs from outsiders, if you know or can find anything about it can you reply to me/make a video about it? im only asking you since you seem to know a lot about lego stuff. thank you!
@loganjohnson2463 I definitely agree, I wish the new sets still used the old complex play features. Remember when the vehicles actually transformed instead of featuring an alternate build? Personally, I think Ninjago has peaked (on a technical level) with the Legacy remake of Destiny's Bounty. The Legacy line in general was amazing, too bad it was so short-lived...
@@LegoManCam jus as bad as skipping ROTTMNT & LAST RONIN existance from your video 9:55 It's okey if you don't care about the franchise but don't misinform your audience
A few things: "Failed reboot attempts" is not a thing. Every TMNT series is a new Turtle universe. 87 was a big hit. The original movies were a hit. 2003 series was a hit. That was before these sets. It's kinda like Super Hero comics where they reboot in a slightly different universe every now and then except each new series is its own thing basically. That's TMNT.
If the 2000s animated movie was a success, it would have gotten a sequel. Same with the Bay movies. I am sure the original plans were to make that at least a trilogy, not to stop at 2
@@gbrogo7139 Actually, part of why the 2007 movie didn't get a sequel was because the Astro Boy movie the same animation studio made a couple years later flopped and they shut down as a result (they were an indie studio). The Bay movies were fundamentally flawed and the second one released in a busy summer, so it was buried.
You missed the 10669 Turtle Lair (a 4+/Juniors set. Its not the best set ever but for what it was (a Juniors set designed for younger builders) it is not that bad (especially because it comes with a number of exclusive parts including lime green wheels)
The 2014 TMNT movie was NOT directed by Michael Bay, it was directed by Jonathan Liebesman. Michael Bay only produced the movie. And the 2nd live action film was directed by Dave green.
I remember as a kid that there was basically a year wait between wave 1 and 2, and I remember that being a big problem for me, as I wanted more, but Lego just wasn’t making any. Also, I feel like there wasn’t enough character variety. I remember that I specifically wanted them to make Rahzar and Mutagen Man, but they just kept making more Shredders and Foot Soldiers. Half of the new characters in the second wave just were not very desirable (Spyder-Bytez was only in one episode, and Kirby Bat wasn’t in very many either), and the movie sets only had one new character, which was Vern (not very desirable). Yes, there were new versions of the older characters, but back then, I really just wanted to get a variety of different characters and not the same ones with different designs.
1:06 _"After many Failed Reboot attempts"_ I'm sorry ¿WHAT? There were literally only 2 TMNT cartoons before this show & BOTH OF THEM ended up having more episodes & a longer time on air than this one(the 2003 even had 3 spin off shows, the Web 4Kids Shorts, FF & BTTS, & a movie, Turtles forever)
TMNT will always have a special place in my heart and mind not only as a loyal fan to series because most of raised with the series but also as a Lego fan because “The shellraiser street chase “was my first Lego set that I bought, and still I have it and play with it a lot , I freaking love TMNT not only the show( I mean all series) but also the sets
By Lego's own admission...TMNT just did not sell. In fact the ONLY Nick Lego series to sell well and make money for Lego was Sponge Bob. Nick has a marketing problem...all the toymakers know it.
I have the turtle sub set. the cool thing about the guys face prints was that there were Ozygen tanks included as a print.. honestly kinda cool detail instead of just thoring in the normal fig.
Failed reboot attempts? He makes it sound like the 2003 show was a failure. Also TMNT wasn't that quit after 2012 it had another show and rhe comics were still going even had crossovers with stuff like Power Rangers I do wish they still made Lego TMNT I would love to get some
I have a few of them the Turtle sub is my favorite, since it has good interior space, and was one of the more efficient ways of assembling the brothers. They kind of made acquiring the four brothers more costly than it had to be.
I would love for LEGO to do their own Ideas/Icons set based on the 87 Technodrome or something to test the waters and then just do their own TMNT original universe with the occasional tie-in to new or existing properties (Akin to what they did with LEGO DC during early to mid DCEU).
I recently bought the hairpiece for the live action April O’Neil, it by itself was over $30(CAD). I love it, it’s my favourite colour variant of the hair piece.
No lie I had no clue these lines even existed. Really small fascinating moment for the franchise. I do love how they stuck with the varied green skin colors just like the original Playmates toys and other current lines usually do with the turtles to diverse them outside just the bandanas and weapons
You don't think it failed because LEGO released some other famous Ninjas in the same time. One theme that was supposed to be only 3 years but new sets are still released to this day.
I owned 5 of the original 6 (I was a huge Ninja Turtles fan as a wee lad), but a lot of the pieces and figures are missing because a 5 year old child doesn't have the best track record of keeping Lego sets intact.
I loved the series, and I have owned the Kraang Lab Escape and Karai Bike Escape (funnily enough for the first one, I didn't even know it was part of the 2012 TMNT until like a year or two ago). I wish I had more tho, and that I still had those sets (they were unfortunately put into storage and the landlord who owned it took everything in that storage out and gave away for free) :(

I really wish they can come back to be based off the original cartoon and the original live action movies.
