Dyne retelling was fantastic, I still like more the ending of dyne and Barrett battle in the original because of how raw it is, but I think they still managed to make it really emotional
As a kid playing the OG FF7 I used my imagination to think what the characters' voices may of sounded like (and we probably all did back in the day). I would of never imagined in a million years Cait Sith having a scottish accent but it fits him so well. I never watched Advent Children or any other FF7 media so I have nothing to compare it to.
Great rendition of Barret and Dyne's showdown. And that Cloud reassurance afterwards? Lovely character moment. They had [too] much fun making Dio's character model as well, didn't they... 😅 👀 Seeing him flex down Rude was fun too. Wth is Glenn though [some Whisper entity]? Cait Sith's VA and lines so far are great. And, that Gongaga Jungle sure is HUGE.
For some reason, about 10%-20% of people on here and other websites say she is annoying, because Yuffie is quite obsessed with materia. I mean, yeah, 60% of her convos tend to be materia or being sick to be fair. I don't mind Yuffie though.
For my personal opinion I think the story flows better with the last stand. Cloud and crew were on the run and wrongly accused for dyne's attack on GS so it makes more sense that this would be resolved in a last stand rather than dyne throwing himself from the cliff. Dio learns the truth through the listening device regardless but this better solidifies shinra as the evil company that it is and makes more sense as dyne attacked the GS specifically to get revenge against shinra and die in a hail of bullets. It's more in line with that archetype

As glad as I am that FF7 still has so much admiration after so many years, I'm one of those people who feels like, if the original was good enough, there's no real reason for a remake. This game and its predecessor are fine, no question, but I question if it'll be looked back on as fondly as the 1997 classic once a few years have passed 🤔
I can't get into the original because of the outdated graphics so at least the remakes have been an opening point for a lot of people, same goes with the Resident Evil remakes

Then FF9 also would be nice (again, good story but horrible graphics). Even FF10 (should integrate with FFX-2 and make it less annoying). They also could make remake of FF6 (the actual best FF game). Then I in fact do see point in FF5 remake.

Did they use the same mocap studio as Lost Planet? The character movements during cutscenes seem very....overdone. Like when you ask for a well done steak and they put a literal smoldering charcoal on your plate.
