I legit don't remember the old graphics being this bad. When I saw the first bit of remastered gameplay I was like, "wow, it doesn't look much different". With the comparison it apparent, but it's almost weird seeing them side by side, it's like my brain always pictured it as the remastered version.
Idk how people can say this. The textures and lighting aren't the best but I think MW2 is still one of the best looking CoD games to date. It's there with Titanfall 2 in terms of classic design. Guns look cool, maps have distinct tone and atmosphere, color is used very well, it just looks very nice even to this day.

I know the VERY first thing I wanted to see since playing MW2 Remastered is how different does it look to the original... so here is 16 minutes of side by side comparison for your viewing pleasure! Do remember that the original MW2 is running at 4K 60fps on PC on Extra.... when we all originally played in 2009, it was at 720p on Xbox 360/PS3. It's incredible how clean the PC version can be when maxed out but I thought comparing identical setting versions was the best way to test. Let me know which version you prefer!
The character models are changed, you can see it clearly, it's minor but it's there. Plus an engine can load any fbx model, it doesn't need an update to put new ones (neither does audio).
The sound for AK-47 is straight from Modern Warfare Remastered and the sound for silenced ACR was just the same of silenced M4 from Modern Warfare Remastered. That just feels weird to me...

The voice acting changed in the remastered. It sounds kinda more cringey than the og one don't get me wrong. Also Nikolai model looks trash in the remastered. The intervention sniper model is literally from IW, the graphics look like Instagram filters. The gun sounds are from MWR, Shepherd looks like Hitler, no multiplayer. The game is just garbage in general.
Hardjaxx - Storm Desert i’m not sure it changed, but when i played og mw2 i didn’t play with headphones, so that could be why it felt a little different. they ruined a lot of models, but shepherd got FUCKED UP. i knowwwwww they fucked up the intervention too. i feel like they tried to add more color, but they also made the game darker, making it look goofy and cartoon-like.
They do add a few animations but usually remakes build the game from the ground up while this just makes the game look better with a few new animations

9:20 this is something that I really don’t like about the remaster, they’ve gotten rid of the lighting and colour that made mw2 stand out so much. the original is orange and dusty whereas the remaster is all blueish greenish grey which isn’t what the original vision of the game was. it seems like they tried to make the cutscenes more cinematic by making everything seeable in the scene but they forget that this a pov not a bloody movie camera. the lighting gives everything this weird shine and doesn’t look real at all.

I know people will disagree but I preferred how they portrayed the betrayal in MW2 Classic. It looks like Shepherd actually has a twinge of regret for his actions, the way he kind of avoids looking you in the eyes, and his facial expressions, even if it’s a tiny detail, it gives a hint that he regrets doing it but he thinks it’s necessary. The remaster makes him look like a total asshole (which he is) but the old version felt like it had more depth and character behind without using any words.
I don't like how they changed a good chuck of the reload animations and I really don't like the fact that they change the animation of soap twirling the knife
To be fair the new knife twirl is more plausible and realistic to pull of during a tense situation when you’ve been stabbed. After watching both in 0.25 speed, the old twirl just feels like he’s showing off.

Sorry to say but it’s definitely not an April fools joke, the game is ready to buy n it’s not there I doubt they would do something like an update and add it in, plus going that route and having people pay $20 even if it was in the files would be a bad idea, the April fools joke will be for another $20 they’ll release the multiplayer as a separate app/game 😂
The Shepard's Betrayal scene looks 10x better in the original. They fucked his model up. Besides that the remaster looks very nice

I absolutely love the arm grab detail in the remastered. Very cold and shows a little more of Shepherd's character.

The voice acting changed in the remastered. It sounds kinda more cringey than the og one don't get me wrong. Also Nikolai model looks trash in the remastered. The intervention sniper model is literally from IW, the graphics look like Instagram filters. The gun sounds are from MWR, Shepherd looks like Hitler, no multiplayer. The game is just garbage in general.
Hardjaxx - Storm Desert i’m not sure it changed, but when i played og mw2 i didn’t play with headphones, so that could be why it felt a little different. they ruined a lot of models, but shepherd got FUCKED UP. i knowwwwww they fucked up the intervention too. i feel like they tried to add more color, but they also made the game darker, making it look goofy and cartoon-like.
this feels more like a Remake rather than a remastered version.
They do add a few animations but usually remakes build the game from the ground up while this just makes the game look better with a few new animations

MW2R has newer animations and even new small added scenes! As well as a total engine upgrade.

9:20 this is something that I really don’t like about the remaster, they’ve gotten rid of the lighting and colour that made mw2 stand out so much. the original is orange and dusty whereas the remaster is all blueish greenish grey which isn’t what the original vision of the game was. it seems like they tried to make the cutscenes more cinematic by making everything seeable in the scene but they forget that this a pov not a bloody movie camera. the lighting gives everything this weird shine and doesn’t look real at all.
They might be trying to match the colour gradient of MW and MW3. Both of those were pretty grey and green.

I know people will disagree but I preferred how they portrayed the betrayal in MW2 Classic. It looks like Shepherd actually has a twinge of regret for his actions, the way he kind of avoids looking you in the eyes, and his facial expressions, even if it’s a tiny detail, it gives a hint that he regrets doing it but he thinks it’s necessary. The remaster makes him look like a total asshole (which he is) but the old version felt like it had more depth and character behind without using any words.
The campaign brings back so many memories, it actually brought some tears

I don't like how they changed a good chuck of the reload animations and I really don't like the fact that they change the animation of soap twirling the knife
To be fair the new knife twirl is more plausible and realistic to pull of during a tense situation when you’ve been stabbed. After watching both in 0.25 speed, the old twirl just feels like he’s showing off.
