Placing a ‘Mustang’ badge on an EV is also a travesty of justice.
The E Mustang should be renamed, my suggestion is E Donkey 😂
Yep. I feel the disgust every time I see it.
Just call it the Ford Mach E.
It will never be a Mustang.
Especially a 4 door
Are u the CEO of Ford? If not then ford can do what ever the fuck they want with out permission from u.
Great to see someone who is not afraid to come out in public and openly express their dislike for EV's.
Keep it up.
Electric Maserati? What a joke.
I had an electric Masserati back in the 80's - it was a set of air horns 🙂
Oxymoron
Battery is good for phones and watches and vibrators
@@peetsnort warning to all vibrator users when on mains supply - US is 110v and EU is 220V .
You might die with a smile on your face 🙂
Any car that's turned into an electric is a joke, a beloved car company that goes EV are a joke too
Absolute joke ! Car manufacturers have generally lost the plot!!!! 🎉
they are doing it at gunpoint
You should go work for them then and 'put them right'..😂..sorry but this channel and its adherents make me laugh, the industry is only going one way and that's to battery electric vehicles, not hydrogen, not e-fuels and certainly not sticking with fossil fuels....see where the investment is going, that tells you all you need to know.
@@davidparker7920 No.
@@colejohnson3705 No what?
@@davidparker7920 Did you forget what you wrote already Dave?
It’s unbelievable that they are doing this. Jaguar are trying the same thing and they’re just about finished. The death of 2 great marques.
It's almost as if they are doing this on purpose.
@@David-tt2mt- think you might be right. What they're doing runs counter to every established sales and marketing technique, upsetting a loyal customer base is akin to committing commercial hara-kiri and totally illogical. Such companies putting all their eggs in the ev basket should get their CEO's a free stay in a padded cell.
@@David-tt2mt Follow the money, who actually owns Maseratti and Jaguar?
Yes Chris and there are more mate just look at Porsche, Bentley, and before long I am sure Rolls Royce - especially as it is owned now by those "clever" Germans!!
Basically it all comes down to whether we'll be allowed to maintain and restore and even replicate 'classic' pre existing cars.
Then it's just a matter of choice.
I think we all know where it's leading.EVs are just an essential requirement for control of freedom of movement.Car use as we knew it won't exist in that control freak utopia.Just wish I was in my 80's not 60's.But glad not 20''s/30's.
The moment an Electric engine and battery is fitted to a car it loses it's heart and soul from the years and years of pedigree, design and so much more...
It LOSES its heart and there's no apostrophe in ITS, because it's not a contraction, it's a possessive adjective. Back to school for you.
@@simoncrooke1644 got an ev???
Its*** would have sufficed.....
But...why?
@simoncrooke1644Dont stop teaching....but don't be a d about it....
Jaguar is down the toilet after giving up ICE and it looks like Maserati will be following them.
I think this EV band wagon is going to pull a lot of car companies down the tube. This is exacrly what the WEF wants, it's all part of their you will own nothing and be happy plan.
I sense a growing market for EV to V8 conversions... probably comes on pretty quickly after a *very* expensive EV battery bites the dust.
Who cares Tata Motors has owned them since 2008, Chinese & Indian. Jaguar hasn't been British for a long time it's just a name.
This is the right way to run a RUclips channel. Your videos are short and to the point, and you put out plenty of information without saturating the audience

Others need to take note.. yt wants for people to spin their wheels on an overload of useless, unending drivel.. they highly incentivize those that are willing to keep the masses distracted in such a manner.
Why does the "green" movement leave me feeling dirty and disgusted?
for real tho
Nothing sounds better than the rumble of a V8.
I don't know. An old flathead straight 8 has a very good and unique sound.
The only thing I've heard that was mightier was a W16. Absolutely monstrous. But also extremely rare lol. V8s rule!
To stray just a little from terrestrial based machines, the 27 litre, 2 stage, supercharged Merlin V12 sounds pretty awesome, especially when it's powering a Spitfire at 500 km/h. 1200 kW of awesomeness. What a glorious sound.
It's really an anti ev statement- even maserati knows this will be a joke that will have to stop every 100 miles it drives 140 on the Autobahn to charge for an hour but they can still get a handsome price. Barnam said - their's a sucker born every minute.
This way to the egress…
The tortoise & the hare comes to mind.
In fairness, I owned a BMW 316 when I lived in (West) Germany many years ago. I could almost watch the fuel gauge move when I drove on the autobahn with my foot to the floor. It wouldn't take any time to refuel though, so your point is still completely valid.
But: that thing really guzzled the gas when you drove it as fast as it would go (which wasn't all that fast).
@@the_mowronI own a 1969 Ford Mustang with a 428 (7-litre) V8 - when you mash the fun pedal you can see the fuel gauge move in real time in proportion to the smile on your face and the sound is glorious!
@@the_mowronUsing fuel at a faster rate when driving at high speed is true of all vehicles, including EVs. It's just physics. Greater air resistance, tyre resistance and drivetrain inefficiency. If you drove that Maserati EV constantly at 250 to 300 km/h on the autobahn you would be stopping every 100 km to recharge.
Imagine the depreciation on that sucker!
Drive it off the lot and it loses 50% + because of the pain on the ass it is to judge battery condition for resale. A big oof.
The new Italian Job will be a silent movie.
Best comment so far. LOL
Very short also, due to range.
Unless they resort to sound effects 🤪
That's two steps backwards😂
How proud will they be when the company goes bankrupt
They will be stunned into utter silence at the nerve of their "ignorant customers" not appreciating the wonders that they are creating. 😕
Maserarti, Aston Martin, Lotus and more. RIP.
DB12....
There is one sure way to get the message across and it’s foolproof.Dont buy them.Vote with your feet and don’t go into the showroom.
That or do go into the showroom, laugh, shake your head at the stupidity of it all, and walk out.
Sacrilege!!! 😡
Like Scotty Kilmer says, “I would never invest in one of those rolling piles of junk EVs!” Cheers Simon. 🇨🇦🇦🇺👍
Rev your engines!
@@ragtowne yes sir! Cheers friend.🇨🇦🇺🇸👍
Two days ago, I had parked my car out in a quiet country car park. When I returned, I noticed an Aston Martin a couple of car bays away. I did not take much notice as I was in a bit of a hurry. Just as I was getting into my car the Aston started its engine. I was immediately fixed to the spot listening to what must have been a V12. As I turned to watch the Aston pull away, I thought, that can never be replaced by an EV. What a travesty it will be that future generations will never know what an incredible experience and pleasure the sound of an ICE can bring to your ears. For no reason, the sole of the motor industry is being ripped away and chucked onto the woke heap of destruction.
For most people cars are just a means of transport and they have no interest in the technical details of the engineering. If you want a classic car fine but classic car owners are the small minority. For the rest of us engine noise is just audible pollution. A quick scan of the comments shows that they are almost exclusively from males as very few females are ICE addicted petrol heads. The future is coming ready or not and that future is EVs. The only question is the rate of change.
@@rodsmyth The future is most definitely not EV's, the market is deciding against that. If governments continue on their current trajectory the future is no personal transport for the masses, EV's are a Trojan Horse to facilitate this.
@@rodsmyth But those same 'most people' aren't in the market for an Aston Martin or Maserati.
It's like taking all the analogue mechanism out of a Rolex watch and putting a cheap digital Chinese mech. inside .Will Masa loose all its customers in 2 years and go bust??
My money is on bust.
When sales fall below expectations and dealer inventories rise Maserati will scale back production and layoff employees
A good analogy 👍
Analogue is nice but digital has it's place. Just like EVs.
They lost me with the V6s. Love that Ferrari derived V8.
So what is the range? End of the f-ing street.
Enough to get to a nice restaurant, a bar or two, and back home or to the hotel. We can be pretty sure that if people buy that car that won't be their only car.
It's not just the range that matters, but how long does it take to charge?
Good point, but unlike other luxury Grand Tourers, this one won't go on tour.
Driving to the French Riviera or along Highway 1, or from Sydney to Melbourne loses its appeal when you have to stop every 2 hours to charge it up for an hour before you can get back on the road.
It's not much of a tourer, and stopping at a coffee shop near the charging station isn't very grand.
literal laugh outloud
@iscadean3607 400 miles! No way, you would be lucky to get 200 out of it if you drive it properly. And if you drive it like Miss Daisy, why buy a Maserati in the first place?
EV sales are falling through the floor, yet these marque brands continue driving towards the abyss. i suspect loads of DEI hires in the marketing dept.
As sales plummet and production is scaled back there will be loads of layoffs in the DEI departments
actually no its the gov forcing their hands
Tesla sales almost exceeded GM sales and GM is the largest automaker
@@erictuffelmire6826 Even Tesla has layed off 10% of its work force. How Arrogant is Elon Musk to take another mans family name and soil it by putting it on his Shiteboxes.
@@erictuffelmire6826 are you trying to convince me, or yourself ? sounds like you already bought one and need to justify your impulsive purchase decision to yourself. but if you haven't bought one yet, what are you waiting for ? hell, if they are that good an investment, buy 2. the prices are dropping so fast why wouldn't you.
The excitement and joy of hearing and feeling the throaty fruity throb of a well tuned engine vented through a sport exhaust is something on it's own.
Why buy the new electric Maserati when the manufacturers say that an updated version is already being planned?
It's like buying an i-phone. You know that a newer and better one will come out next year, but you buy one anyway. 😂
@@my3dviews Phones are only 5% better each year at the moment and a phone from 3-4 years ago is just as usable as a modern one; I only upgraded from a Galaxy Note 3 (released in 2013) last October because of the upcoming 3G shutdown.
@@deanchur I still had a blackberry priv until two years ago. 😂 Now I have an S22 Ultra.
About 18 years ago I was a telephone company tech, repairing a service on a semi rural property in the Southern Highlands. The driveway had to be about 500mtrs long. While working up a pole in this driveway, the Sydney based owner returned home. The V8 sound was absolute music to this Hot Rodder's ears. Once I turned to see the source, I was surprised to see a near new lowly four door sedan, but with the Maserati trident up front.
I wanted one, but with a coupe or two door body. It was the sound that had me sucked in. It burbled authority even at low RPM. I never got one & never will, but if my 1933 Coupe Hot Rod can be made to sound like that, I can die happy.
I love the idea of sitting on top of 800 volts!
It made me physically ill within 4.5 miles. I drove 11 miles in a Polestar demo between 3:30 /4:00 and I didn't feel even half way normal until 8pm that evening.. Fair play to the young 21 year old 'salesman' he said that I wasn't the first to report that.
@@lucylovitt9583That's an interesting point you make. We need more investigation into this. I guess that the electric field will be proven to have detrimental health effects in all these pathetic milk floats.
Maybe they should resurrect the Pacer and the Gremlin so they have appropriate cars in which to place electric "engines".
Good one 😂
The whole point of these fast Italian cars (Maserati, Lambo, De Tomaso etc) is to manage long distance blasts across Europe- not sitting for hours somewhere charging up your AAs.
Aren't they AAA's?
Thank you so much for bringing this tragedy to our attention. I look forward to seeing your videos every day.
I 100% agree. The sound of the Maserati V8 is completely unmatched. Absolutely glorious
Instead of the joy of listening to a V8 rumble, you can listen to the crackle of flames as your 7000 little batteries have a thermal run away. These people have lost the idea of what attracted people to these cars. What a shame and ridiculous thing to do to such a beautiful vehicle. Waste of money.
You think an electric Maser is bad, think about an electric Ferrari. A travesty!
Can't wait to see their advert for it with Dylan Mulvaney in an Audrey Hepburn outfit, looking for a charging point along the Amalfi Coast !
Exactly! It's not about the numbers on paper, it's the feeling that you get...... Plus there's that issue of resale.
This instantly triggered the line from the following Benny Hill song in my head: "Ernie, he drove the fastest milk float in the West".🤣
Nice one. 😅😅
GranCabrio Folgore: Range and performance
The 800-volt powertrain is combined with a 92.5kWh battery - 83kWh of which is usable - that can provide UP TO 280 miles of range and charge at a rapid 270kW for 100km (62miles) of range in only five minutes of charging - that IF you can find one and its working .
280miles of range for half a million dollars this brings a whole new level of stupid.
I made a comment about this bizarro car on the Late Brake Show. The moderator of the page took it very personally.
Maserati now owned buy Stellantis , not really a surprise.
The largest manufacturer of junk in the world (Fiat, Peugeot, Citroën, Chrysler...)😂
The dealership has to spend about $200,000 USD to get the chargers and electricity support for the BEV Maserati and Alfa's.
in Montana the local Ford dealer decided not to invest in the EV infrastructure - I have not seen a single F150 Lightning or Mustang Mach-E on the roads here and only the very occasional Tesla
What utter, complete lunacy. These manufacturers are just selling their souls and doing jack shit to oppose it. Apart from Toyota it seems. An electric Masersti. Makes as much sense as a solar powered torch.. I agree with you 100% - it's about the experience, not the speed. The thing I love about my Volvo is the woofly, vocal and entertaining 5 cylinder sound and I never tire of it. Its certainly not fast but I adore it. And what gets me is the draconian laws everywhere stamping down on speed which is directly opposed to all these ever-incresing and stupid speeds and acceleration times!!! And acceleration does NOT help with 'being green' not to mention the huge additional strain and wear on the vehicle's components. Absolute madness. Great video as always Simon
It's time to change the legendary Maserati logo, from the "Trident" to the "AC Plug"...
bahaha
Imagine with that voltage and power how bad the EM fields will be for the people inside and outside the car!
I have wanted a Maserati since 1968 when I saw the most beautiful automobiles ever created. It wasn't until 6 months later that I learned the name: Maserati. Even the name is exotic, exciting and you can see it's made for the experience of racing. I lusted for the muscle cars like all teenage males did in the 60's but this was such a radical and beautiful automobile. Just from the shape, you knew it was fast.
Can't wait to hear the sound of a washing machine doing the spin cycle. What a thrill...
Sacrilege for sure, they've gone mad!. Imagine how long it'll take to charge on our 10amp power or using a low output public charger. No thanks...
I love the look and the sound of a Maserati but a modern Maserati with its dodgy electrics? and EV Maserati is very sketchy. I see Maserati's future going up in flames, literally.
Yeh, they're not great cars. They were even worse back in the 80s but they do look good.
There's one model that looks very like a Mondeo.
Maserati depreciation + EV depreciation is going to be brutal.
Gonna be fun to watch the depreciation race between the Porsche Taycan and Grandcabrio
One acceleration to 200km-h and 5-8% of the battery is done.
more loss than that
Folgore was a division in Mussolini's army. Not sure what connection I can make to EVs but someone might.
That's a connection none the less
Socialism is involved with both…
EVs are like the vegan activists of the automobile realm.
Double like
I think they are also well off people with a guilty conscienceand and lack of knowledge about true enviromental impacts, That buy EV's to virtue signal to all their friends about how great they are.
😆
Nothing I'd want more than an overpriced electric supercar that I'm forced to drive at 80kph thanks to all the planet saving speed restrictions that are being imposed.
nope, manual transmission. tesla's cyber truck has improved steering that does away with hand over hand crash prone driving.
You summed it up right at the end, it’s about engagement of engine and chassis. I have a latest gen MX-5 with 184 HP for a mere 1.000kg. On paper it is slow but the fun it delivers is endless. The feeling that sitting low nearby the rear axle with the engine behind the front one delivers is fantastic. The car pivots around you instead of just following the front wheels motion. Love it.
Those V8 Maserati's are some of the greatest sounding engines ever. It's all part of the experience which is completely missing with all EVs.
Speaking of Folgore, Ford recently cut production of the F150 Lightning electric pickup after weaker-than-expected electric vehicle sales growth as dealers report slower sales and rising inventories - Ford lost an estimated $36,000 on each of the US$50,000+ EVs it delivered - but claims it will make it up on volume in the future 😊
By building and selling ICE vehicles.
the USA TAXPAYER WILL COVER FORD FOR THAT LOSS..THX BIDEN!!!
So there are 83 kWh of useable charge in a car that can use it up at a rate of 610 kW. I calculate that adds up (or rather divides out) to 8 mins of driving flat out. Have fun Folgore buyers!
Well, if 610 kw gives you 0-100 in 2.8 seconds, in 8 minutes of applying 610 KWh you will accelerate to ......
About 10 years ago I got my son, an electrical tradie, a cigarette lighter plugin that went to the radio, and made any car sound like a Maserati; it matched the engine revs & sounded great in his Hilux work van! Going 30kph, it sounded like he was going 300kph up a mountain pass. Now we can all save money & just get Simon & Garfunkle's Sound of Silence to put on our car sound systems, since a new Maserati won't make a sound- until it bursts cheerfully into flames, that is!
You are spot on. Speed limits are for everyone and being reduced here in the UK, so the driving experience is the top feature of a car which is why EVs are rubbish and why I have a diesel powered Range Rover.
I wonder what the depreciation will be like? I am thinking on the lines of the Porsche Taycan
I love the sound of a roaring IC V8 engine in the morning.
I drove alot of flash cars as a valet. The Maseratis always felt the most driver car connection and were my favourite
What is all that gibberish??? What happened to horse power and torque!! Something Dodge used to know a lot about. Sadly now they've forgotten what got them to the top of the heap. Now they're just making heaps😢
Your opening statement is the definition of automotive articulation! Thank you.
Just because you can, doesn't mean you should. 😱
It shows that nothing is sacred.
I’m convinced that the manufacturers know the truth about the weather, and also the truth about what is wonderful about their cars, but have either been threatened or highly financially encouraged to go along with this death-dealing blow. I also believe that this is where the “carbon taxes” are going. Even though the present average CO2 levels are 400 ppm, and dropping them to 200 ppm would destroy all life. Raising them to 800 ppm, as commercial greenhouses do, grows lush healthy oxygen-producing plants.
They're fancy golf-carts now
I can only hope they sell exactly none of these.
It is sacrilege to produce such a vehicle from such a well known marque.
I was watching videos of the Goodwood Festival of Speed last night. Amazing sounds of McLaren F1's, vintage Ferrari's, Can-AM cars from the 60's flying by! Exhilarating and intoxicating noises to say the least. Then, the camera followed a soulless EV up the track...aside from the sound of tires squealing for grip...silent. It's like watching a black-and-white silent movie, but without the subtitles.
Just imagine going to Goodwood in the year 2030 to watch a bunch of EV's driving up the track with not an ICE in sight. No thanks.
😂 they had to add a waterproof speaker underneath the car and a separate circuit to produce a sound that mimics a big V8 revving 😂
'It is expected to reach Australian showrooms' if the boat doesn't catch fire.
And will this climate friendly abomination also feature performance limited by real-time 24-7 surveillance so drivers can only use the performance appropriate and inside walled-garden areas?
Exactly and if it’s linked to your insurance company!!
These next generation batteries are always just around the corner, ay? 😉😁
With its own built in Soya milk despenser.
Next I'll be told that Steinway are making synthesisers. 🎹🎶
Speed = 0 to 100kph in 2.8 seconds, Charging = 0 to 100% volts in 1 hour plus (if you`re lucky)
A friend owned a recent Maz and it was nothing but problems. He returned it after 18 months.
I just saw that EV charging is at $3.10/ minute here in BC Canada, thought they were supposed to be cheaper
I think adding (at end?) a sample/sound/exhaust notes of pure automotive passion, would have been a nice touch. Thanks for the video.
EV'S are a perfect car for civil servants who have plenty of time to recharge them juring the working day!!! 😊
A car that no one wanted.
Hey, we're no longer allowed to criticise a turd if it 'identifies' as a car. 🙄
The numbers are boring. The experience is everything. I've owned a S1 Lotus Elise since 1999. Best car I've ever owned. Makes me smile every time I drive it. It's slow compared to modern cars....but it is so fun. Fun seems to be the thing that's missing these days.
Mguy gets it.
Bentley, Jaguar...now Maserati. Say goodbye!
DEPRECIATION OF POLICE EV FLEETS
It doesn't matter.....
Brilliant observations. If Maserati joins the other Earth Worshippers they will be doomed.
The era of ICE’s is coming to an end! It had it’s moments while it lasted, that much is true. I will fondly remember my first howling Kreidler 50cc, Mini Cooper, Honda CB750 K2, Mercedes, etc, etc…
Nothing is stopping enthusiasts from enjoying iconic ICE conveyances in the future. The majority of this vacuous vlog’s subscribers have never driven an EV, let alone owned one. My Tesla Model 3 LR does not equal my teenage memories racing my Kreidler Van Veen, but it’s the most satisfying car I have ever owned…
How sad must this world get to do this. Sacrelidge.
there are brand which have been able to build a prestigious name in time and consequently the hope for a purchaser of such brand is that by keeping in time such car one day its value it will be increased. Such perspective is totally impossible with a car based on battery
Top speed is fun if you're 16. The best fun I have is on a highly technical track, big brakes, sharp curves and rarely reaching 160kph in a straight. Only times I get up past 300-320kph is on an oval... but that's just turning left on such a high bank it's not as mentally challenging as remembering 27 turns of varying direction, severity and apexes.
pink.. i remember the old General Electric washing machines were pink in the 1960's i started out repairing them. but they were built strong & were functional 👍 that castrated car probably will explode shortly after going over a speed bump that was too high & damaged the fairy pee battery
#oh When the range is too short but the customer rep is a bot, that's a-FolGore: when the wheels stop spinning and the headlights are a-dimming, that's a-FolGore. When the batteries are flat and there's so much VAT, that's a-Fol-Gore!!..... 😅
Bought some newer diesel powered Volvos. Better than money in the bank.
You don't Have any money in the bank. Go read the T+C's
It’s a disgrace! I own a Jaguar and they have thrown away years of engine development by going totally EV!! Madness as they are killing the brand with grossly overpriced milk floats.
I could never afford a high performance European motor car. But I could afford a high performance motorcycle. And for over 50 years that's what I did. Sadly, in my mid 70s, health issues have forced me to retire my bikes. But god I loved all of them. Adrenaline is the best drug ever, even if my doctor keeps admonitioning me.
I sympathize with you, I was the original owner of a 1974 Norton 850 commando and a 1999 Triumph speed triple - as traffic and my age increased and the allowable speed and “twisties“ decreased they no longer became as enjoyable
But don’t drive at top speed or you will shorten the battery life!
When many local authorities are introducing 20 mph limits…….
Just like not producing sport cars with a manual transmission.
Ferrari is having a hard enough time selling the SF90 and 296 models, and those are hybrids! Imagine how poorly this piece of work is going to do!
Nice looking car. Can be scaled down for environmentally friendly pedal power for the kiddies to play with in the garden when the EV dream evaporates.
Yep, even less reliable now...
