When I was in college choir a decade ago, we sang this....and when we would perform it we would surround the auditorium and no one would stand next to the same voice part....it was so powerful the entire place would just be in tears. There were times we would sing it and I would be fighting back tears as well. It truly is a beautiful song!
My office is on the floor above the choir room at Mississippi College. This building has been very quiet without students. Hearing their voices again brought tears to my eyes. I didn't realize how much I missed the sound of their voices.
Found this by accident months ago and so glad I did. It's about the most beautiful thing I've ever heard. I have played it many times, each time blown away by its beauty. Great job! I can't imagine how hard this must have been to do remotely.
This is superb. Tears welling at the last line, "No more a stranger or a guest, but like a child at home." Am thinking of the gunshot victims in Boulder and all over our country. May God receive them in peaceful embrace.
THANK YOU; THANK YOU; THANK YOU, CHOIR! Today, 1 Nov. 2020, you have blessed me to tears as the words of this anthem came ALIVE in my heart - me... "no more a stranger nor a guest, but like a child at home" at rest with my Abba Father, my Savior the Lord Jesus, as the Holy Spirit has used your singing.
Oooh! Thank you so much! I have tears streaming down my face. This is so beautiful to me because I have loved this since I was small. I recall hearing it as young as four years, as my sisters and I sat in church with my father propped up to hear my mother, a Coloratura Soprano, sing it with Mrs. Watkins sing it in thr ot on urtit eit
This describes precisely the feeling, when eating the Eucharist. He feeds me well. Even though the hymn was made by a Protestant, it is perfectly catholic. Except that “Yahweh” is more proper than “Jehovah”. ❤️❤️❤️🙏🏻❤️❤️❤️
great performance of a wonderful song - thank you! I really enjoyed this , not only the music itself, but also the format that allows us to see close up who the singers are. Sometimes we forget how individual work/ talent/ desire can become so beautiful and powerful with cooperative intention. I really loved seeing the singers up close - really tough in a concert hall. But thanks to each one of you.
I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and I am used to hearing the Choir at Tabernacle Square (Mormon Tabernacle Choir) singing this song so beautifully. Something about these talented young people singing this in their own home; with their own powerful conviction seems so powerful. Thank you for sharing. I have a renewed commitment to strengthen my relationship with the Savior.
Very nice recording! Nice arrangement, so peaceful yet uplifting. As a life-long choral singer/conductor, I appreciate these lovely young students working to sync up and make it appear easy/effortless.
I love this arrangement! Your choir did great! I first heard and sang this song when I was in the university choir at Brigham Young University-Idaho 16 years ago. “My Shepherd Will Supply My Need” is just what everyone needs right now. I know it’s that way for me anyway🙂 The song fills me with peace. Thanks for sharing.
Don’t forget to credit Isaac Watts for the beautiful text of this American folk hymn, from Southern Harmony, 1835 setting. Lovely singing by my hometown college’s choir.
This hymn was sung at the Washington national cathedral during the memorial service on September 14th 2001 in memory of the almost 3000 innocent lives lost as a result of the terrorist attacks a few days prior
Good to know! Glad my denomination came through with love and encouragement for that extremely difficult time for all on earth. Thanks for sharing this tidbit. I’m compiling a list of my favorite versions of hymns of Psalm 23, and these kids do a fabulous job with this fine old American hymn tune (which probably comes from the Sacred Harp body of music from the early 19th century). Anyway kudos to these talented college students and thanks to you and best wishes and blessings and hope to all!
Singers, I was singing at MC when this song became tradition two decades ago. This time was surrounded with fear and tribulation, not only due to the impact that 9/11 would have on our nation, but also the personal strife that goes along with leaving adolescence and being thrust into adulthood, ready or not. This arrangement was our balm. It was our staff, guiding us, keeping us among the flock and safe from the thought of being apart. "There would I find a settled rest, while others go and come. No more a stranger, nor a guest, but like a child at home." I can't tell you how much these words will stick with you, or how much you'll likely revisit this summation of Psalm 23 throughout your life.
A beautiful rendition of the 23rd Psalm. I doubt if there is any other psalm the has more musical settings. That is a testimony to the important role it has played in the Judaeo-Christian tradition. However I've often wondered why the title of the melody is "Resignation." Not the most positive word in my dictionary!
I just lost my mom 6 weeks ago. Found you all a day later, and again today. What a blessing from the Lord. Thank you.

BusbeaMC - when we are back in Aven I think we’re all going to be thankful for the privilege of sharing space! Thank you for your kind thoughts.

You have added to the beauty of the World. We need much much more of this to survive. Thank You.

Stunning. I performed this arrangement when I was a student at Howard Payne University. This brought back warm memories.
“One word of Thy supporting breath drives all my fears away.”
Thank you all for this gift.

The words to this song is beautiful. "He brings my wandering spirit back"
To God be the Glory. Praise God 😁
That's me!!!
We do an online service every week and this is the hymn I chose for the closing hymn. Thank you for sharing your talents....absolutely beautiful!
Great hymn.
I don’t care what group sings this or how they sound, it makes me teary eyed every time.
Sh avoid cults singing like Tabernacle Choir. Formerly known as Mormon Choir.
@@erh1997disparaging remarks says more about you than those whom you disparage. Respect yourself more
Episcopalians sing it best.

I'm also a Church member! We sang this Sunday for Stake Conference as a choir musical number.
Episcopalians sing it better than Mormons. Okay. I'm biased.😂

A beautiful rendition of a beautiful hymn. Thank you.
Perfect
Arnold and Marion Nabholz would be proud of their son -- and decide that those years of music lessons were money well-spent. Great job, Bro!
Beautiful! Our calm through this current storm!

Very moving, very lovely.
I love this song. Have sung it in our choir.
Thy hand in sight of all my foes, Doth still my table spread....
This was totally awesome! Thank you!
This blessed my heart. Thank you, my brethren.
Very nice. This is a beautiful hymn.
How precious! Thanks all for your beautiful efforts!
God Bless...

Well done my Alma mater
Such a blessing to hear. It brought joy to my very soul.

A better title would be Trust, in my opinion. Everything you need comes from the Good Shepherd.
I've always liked the title: Resignation; as in Let Go: Trust, All will be well
