Stoicism is a practical philosophy for everyday life. At Orion Philosophy, we cover Stoicism 101 and draw on the wisdom of Stoic philosophers like Marcus Aurelius, Epictetus, and Seneca to find better ways to live and promote resilience, peace of mind, and overall wellbeing. Whether you're looking for daily Stoic routines, or how to be a Stoic in daily life, you'll find something here.

Very nice lesson! Personally I think It is good to plan for the future but that plan must have very measurable and realistic objectives and a finite timeline.
We certainly must not making plans with undefinite or subjective goals. We also must not make our wellbeing and stability depends on its outcome.
I like to say the past exists to teach us lessons, the future to challenge us into our journey but ultimately we live and act in the present.
    Thank you for your video!

@@OrionPhilosophy I just want to add I really enjoy these short stories videos much more than the collection of quotes videos. I think quotes in themselves are nice but I think they need to be put within a coherent video narrative to be more impactful. Thank you for everything you do brother! 💪🏻

You must plan ahead. Failure to plan is a plan to fail. Reactive vs proactive. Strive for Fulfillment not happiness and Fulfillment comes from achieving your goals.
Happiness is a proximate goal. That means you are happy doing the stuff you enjoy. Its not an absolute goal. Meaning it does last beyond doing the things you enjoy and love.

Consider this, the key point in the fable is when Axios speaks to the sage, the sage tells him that his search for the future implies that his present is insufficient. Axios only seeks wealth and glory for it's own sake, rather than actual fulfilment, because his present is not insufficient. The shift in perspective that Axios has is one that we must all learn, because while Axios could then see that his life was fulfilled, the rest of us can also objectively identify where our own lives are insufficient while appreciating the good things in life. Then we can address our insufficiencies with focus, we can pursue wealth not for its own sake, but for security, to gain knowledge and skills that we may do good by society.

Planing is future, not living present

@@JosueSanCoral My point is that you must first live in the present in order to prepare for a future that can be. Lest you prepare for a future that can't be and remain trapped in the present. A career that is not for you, a home renovation that never happens, etc.
