Legend!. In the mid eighties Dad and I (as a young lad) were on the motorway having left the British F1 Grand Prix. I glanced over at a big very expensive metallic blue Mercedes and saw one of my heroes, Barry!. I gave him a big 'thumbs up' and he recipricated with that big broad grim and did same. Bril! Nuff said.
I knew Barry Sheene when he lived in Australia. He had a pretty _laissez faire_ view of life and always had a quick riposte. I remember we were at Phillip Island for testing and he wanted to talk to Loris Capirossi (I think) who was about 17 at the time. He described Capirossi thus, 'He looks like the geezer who throws the newspaper over your fence'. I knew nothing about bikes so we talked about his house that he'd lived in back in England. Parts of it were about 800 years old and the chimneys hadn't been swept in about 200 years. He liked flying too. Good times. Good man.
What a great race meeting that was😁. I was there, somewhere between the old tree and the hairpin, my favourate position as I could see the main straight and the hairpin. The old tree got taken down after a man came off a chair and got killed. Happy days.

Awesome, thanks for sharing
The sound and aroma of two strokes were instrumental in generating the excitement.
