It depends on how many aisles you have. If you have more than one aisle it's better to have a six-wheeler for your cardboard and a plastic bag for your plastic. As you stock you can just make one pile of cardboard for every 4 4-foot sections and throw plastic to one side of the isle. When your finished stocking one isle you can just easily pick up the piles of cardboard and plastic then move to the next aisle without worrying about going to the baler. When your finished with all your isles you can just make one trip to the bale. Unless you have detergent in which case it's better to just get rid of it so your not hogging the six-wheelers.
I used to work freight for Home Depot but now I’m at there MDO warehouse was looking at getting a part time job at HEB working fright do they have A 7pm to 11pm shift there
Used to do this at Kroger, worked way up from Bagger to Cashier to Grocery stocking, and have to say this had the most freedom after working there for 2 years, unfortunately management was pretty scuffed, my manager getting special treatment for having sexual relations with the store director and leaving the difficult work to us, stockers. I left and never looked back lol
All they really want to know is if you can handle a tough job like that and why you really want to be part of the HEB family. Practice doing camera interviews instead of face to face. That's the first step. Then if you're lucky, a face to face. Good luck.
There are very few girls because the job is really hard. I've only heard of two girls who could hack it up in Austin. They do camera interviews first then if you are selected, they contact you for a face to face interview.
I work at target and I want to try to work HEB overnight stock but I don’t want to yet because of college and keeping my schedule flexible and stuff. I’m thinking around next year I’ll apply during the summer.
Summer is a good time to go in. Get ready for the holiday season. It's a monster of a time. Stay away from the big stores as well as the tiny ones, for they are brutal on the body. Unless, you are strong enough like a warrior.
Hey Eduardo I am hoping you answer my question... do you see women get hire ? if so do they last? I am having a hard time finding a job that works with my school schedule heard HEB has flexible hours... I want to apply but I am a female not sure if they hire mostly guys... Is the job hard?
I've only seen one gal that has lasted more than a month. That was in Austin. Night stocking is hard. Ask about General Merchandise, Sanitation, or Meat Market Deli Department. They are night jobs too. Typically easier than grocery.
Jose Hernandez That's Austin 16 Lakeline. Even with what looks like the trash going everywhere, I only make single piles then I pick up. This method works best for me in the bean section. Case count stays above 120 always with cardboard already in compactor.
Eduardo Ramirez hi question I don't know if you will read it or not but I got to ask. How do you guys do case counts? I'm from HEB also and I just want to know more or less the process.
@@2550arcangel2550 its simple. They count the cases. In my store. Its just on the ground. They used to do risers but they made changes in processes where no cases on risers are needed. You single it out. To them its faster since you just pluck the backstock from riser and plug it in. And in some cases. You can fill a shelf that way and if you had a case for that shelf and its full. You didnt have to waste time uncasing it and stocking. Leave case on ground and keep it movin. Now for casecounts. Every "Partner" is expected to hit 55/cph for casecount in order to justify their hours as a OVN/stocker for grocery. NO MATTER WHAT. However; I've heard the world standard in overnight stocking or any position as a stocker for a supermarket is 60/cph+, dont know how they came up with that number since in alot of cases (lol, cases) its not fast enough to finish every aisle on-time before the store opens. There is a time the store is open. There is a time the store is closed. You stock in that time the store is closed till its open. The estimate is usuaully 8-10hours. But thats if every pallet for the store is broken down. A good operating team can theoretically can break down a 30-50 pallet truck in 1.5 hours. As per OSHA standard. You get 1/hour of break time. So 2-15min breaks 1-30min lunch. However since our workload is extremely heavy. We get 30min break time and its paid. Why not. However. Depending on the store and team leadership. Not everyone gets a break. Or is unwilling to take one in order to finish the store on time. A truly good stocker in HEB as a whole should be at 80-120 cph. Thats considered "veteran stocker" level of proficiency. Some are gifted enough to hit that level of speed in 3months or less. Others may take longer but after 1year. You are expected to hit 60cph and above no matter what, or you get written up and then let go. Most stockers honestly fall under the 70/80cph standard but as long as they are at 55cph. Its fine. Just dont expect to always get 40+ hours or allowed to stay longer past your shift to get more hours. So with that being said. Faster partners get the aisles with more cases. Slower ones get the aisles with less cases. But I think the average for a partner to hit 55cph most often can throw 270-350 cases a night at 55cph. Ive often seen partners who have an average cph of 70-90 do get more than 2 aisles but total case output would allow them to do all the aisles in 3-4 aisles in 4 hours or less while either slower or faster partners get only 2: often experts in their aisles or partners who always hit casecount in specific aisles. Usually partners who do 100+ cph are veterans so there is a reason why they only get 2 aisles because it is 100% doable for them to finish the aisle in a certain time.
This is my aisle. That is terrible man lol. When you stock cans you're supposed to use 2 hands and stack them on the box first.
