When you think about it, this soundtrack has the "awakening" feeling in it, befitting Sora, Donald, and Goofy who just recently awakened. By contrast, Lazy Afternoon in Roxas's story, Chain of Memories, and 358/2 Days has the "sleeping" feeling, not only because the title has the word "lazy" in it but also because, in many ways, Sora (or, in the case of Chain of Memories, his memories thanks to Namine/the Organization messing with them) is still "sleeping".

I do agree! Twilight Town brings those feelings to me, like being in some sort of peaceful home city. I used to hum this song in my head whenever I rode my bike at the evening sunset, at my town. I miss those times, but I must remain working and learning until I can ride bike on the streets again.
Say what you will about the world that never was ost, this theme has a more heartfelt goodbye to the journey Sora took throughout the game. Could not think of a better theme for the endgame
I love this theme so much but nothing hits me like the original version of this song from the classic PS2 Kingdom Hearts 2 with no ReMix or anything, the nostalgia of that classic just brings me to tears wishing to go back to when I was about 9
for some reason after sora left the memory pod, and when I explored twilght town I felt the city empty, and with this song playing it gave me a feeling of sadness seeing the city almost empty

What’s the difference between this version and kh3’s version?
The KH3 version is more orchestral heavy, especially with the strings and reed/wind instruments in that version. Both are beautiful though!
