Thank you for this video and the rest of your x carve tutorials. I used the tiling feature for the first time and had a pretty good experience. drawing the line and using a straight edge through out the 3 cuts really made the difference.
Like the tileing feature, primarily due to the size of my machine 300mm 180 mm. You did a good job explaining the tileing feature and its ins and outs.
Greetings from Malta (Europe). 🎄 Many thanks for your excellent tutorials. Regarding the straight edge positioning when setting up a tiling job, could you 'tape and super glue' a piece of say 6mm ply and have the machine itself cut/trim it along the y-axis? Wouldn't that ensure perfect y-axis alignment? Thanks again for taking the time to share your superb videos. Meanwhile, I'll be waiting for my new Vasto.
For the text alignment discussion at around 27:30 you could select one letter, then shift+click on each of the others and hit the vertical align button. Then put them at your 2.68 This saves a bit of time
awesome!!!!! building growth charts is near the top of my to do list, i just brought home 6 white oak live edge pieces just for this purpose, did you get the original pattern from easel? great vid thanks for the leg up,,Cheers
Thanks for the video.I have watched your method a few time but I always end up with a line through the middle of the project from top to bottom. The line is too deep to sand out.I have tried resurfacing the spoil board etc etc and still it is not working out.I have the 3018 Pro and the Mandrill.
I have a vevor 8080 cnc router they show how to build it but once its built you don't show how to start it and how to hook it up to a laptop. Please show me how to get it started
Here is a playlist of videos. This is not using the tiling feature in easel. This will allow you to do breaks in the tiles wherever you wish. ruclips.net/p/PLWUBjmT-017BwZP94NT96It7R2TzFQ_dS
Just curious why not set the overlap past the C? Also I found using PwN CNC z axis bit jig to help with not having to rezero the z axis every time in a bit swap.
Using the tiling feature in Easel Pro currently does not give the option to move the overlap. That is a request that I have made to Inventables. I'll check out the z axis bit jig. That sounds very interesting.
First, are you using the tiling app in easel? It tells you where to place the project. You also have an overlap feature. If you are not using this feature then the zero point of each tile must match the computer to the project. Hope this make sense
So I’m curious how you ensure the machine doesn’t move when changing bits? Mine goes all over, so if I were to go to last X,Y zero, it’s likely going to be off?
First make sure your stepper motors are locked. The GRBL $1=255. If you home the machine you can use the use last x,y position if my chance it does move a little.
What about when you want to carve pocket text using the tile feature? I was getting lines through/across each tile. Everything lined up just carved through the text like a border around each tile
I have two large platform CNC machines. In this video I used the XCarve. There is a link in the description to go to their website for more information. The CNC4NEWBIE is the other large platform CNC machine. Again information in the description
@@PawPawsWorkShop I have a 1000x1000 X-Carve currently but am looking for an upgrade to what I'm using, i.e. ball screw or rack and pinion. Thanks for your feedback
This is something I've wanted to see for a while. Thanks for posting
Awesome! Do you other topics that you have been waiting to see??
Thank you for making these videos you explain it very easily to understand I just used the last week and it worked perfectly thank you again
You're very welcome! I’m so glad that my videos have helped you.

My pleasure. I’m glad that they help you
Thanks!
Thank you very much. I really appreciate you.
Thanks for your input .I was unsure how the tiling feature worked I now have a great idea how, thanks to your video
Look at my fan art playlist for more information on tiling

Yes, you could definitely do that. It will work great

That is awesome! The growth chart that I made was my design.
Great work....my compliments :-)

I have literally hundreds of videos showing the setup, startup, calibration and operation. I not sure what you need to know
To get in between letters I have been able to change the tiling sections length in easel. Would like your input or a video on doing that.

Thanks for the video I'll be using the tiling feature for My Halloween Carve , something scary for the kids
Awesome
Can this program work on the Fox Alien Vasto? I just ordered one and want to make sure I get the correct programs to get started
Yes it can. Great choice

How do you know where to place your tiles? I have an 18” tile and a 19” tile, how do I know where to start my second tile?
The location of the material must match the same exact location on the computer
@@PawPawsWorkShop so I’ll start my next tile starts right at 18”?

@@PawPawsWorkShop I’ll look and see. Thanks for the help!
@@PawPawsWorkShop I am using easel by the way.
Did you support the rest of the board hanging out in the air or let it hang 🤔
Yes, I support the board. I don’t want unnecessary pressure on the clamps

I see the new carve next to the x carve do you ever use it?
Yes, it is an excellent machine.
Maines should never be under the Coast Guard Paw Paw. haha
Thanks for the information
Chuck a pen and keep the router off and have it draw the line for you
Yes, that will work. Thanks
