Pretty sure Jeff would have beef with one of my four Carvin basses/Amps/PA/speakers/cabs/mics. if I were him I’d embrace the legacy of Carvin. Frank Zappa, Steve Vai, Mike Clark off the top of my head.
I really want a Dustin Davidson signature but want more options than just the blue and red offered ... the burl looks incredible ! Simply an amazing bass . Something that will age well regardless if your taste changes .
Hell yeah. Glaciers is great. Yeah I've been the bass player for OTS for the last 3 years. New album is just finishing up mixing now. I also re-did the bass for The Return of Inertia which is sounding insane
Is it just me or does the string buzz get a bit too much quickly? It sounds amazing on that metal track but the more mellow piece makes me want to adjust the action up a little?
Do you know why they discontinued the SB Series? I have a koa SB4000. I love Brian Bromberg but I have never seen anyone playing his bass (which they still sell). Meanwhile, a lot of people had Sekou Bunch’s. I like the Thanos because it resembles a headless SB. I wonder if Sekou feels they’ve infringed on his Signature bass?
I have the sb5000 and love it. Not sure why they discounted it but I picked up the thanos because it looked like a headless sb. I think the rumors are that carvin couldn’t keep the relationship with sekou. I think there might be bad blood about it but I have no idea
Reallying getting into kiesels and the Thanos in particular, a die hard fender dude and have been wanting a mod shop but this might be the ticket. But is it me or they basically all sound the same or is just every one playing these style basses into what ever is the latest from darkglass so everything and everyone gets colored in that shade?
I kinda hate to say it but I STRONGLY prefer the sound of the SB5000 by a lot. I reached out to Kiesel about this and they sent me some of the pickups from the SB5000 to try out. I am swapping them into the Thanos and I'll have a pickup comparison for 3 different setups to share with you
@@spoonerluv There is some magic in the sb5000 for sure. I actually started working on a pickup comparison video where I do a shoot out of the SB5000 (j99a pickups) vs Thanos (JVA pickups) and I still need to record/film the third video of the Thanos with j99a pickups. Hopefully will have that up soon and you will be able to hear the difference for yourself
@@SisterAbdullahX I think its the pickups -- will record a video to compare the JVA pickups (the ones in this video) vs. the j99a pickups (the stock pickups for the sb5000)
how does the sb5000 compare. My sb5000 is my favorite bass I have ever owned and I loved the body shape. Is it the same body dimensions? How does it balance and feel?
I still greatly prefer the sb5000. I think the electronics in the Thanos are just worse. I even got the same pickups that I have in the sb5000 loaded into the Thanos and its not as good. The weight/balance on the thanos is nice and the lack of headstock makes it a good couch guitar, however.

Perfectly balanced, as all things should be
Killer tone. When I first saw the bass at a glance thought it had an F-hole... that top is killer!
That bass sounds killer. Great sustain too.
Insane build and it sounds awesome! Congrats!
Great Video - Outrun the Sunlight is great! BTW - very inspiring 5 string playing -
Thanks so much, Seratone!
That bass has a real good tone. You also play very well. I think it’s a keeper.
Holy shit, outrun the sunlight... i used to listen to that song you're playing in the background all the time. You guys are great
New bass day is like every Christmas morning as a child packed into one.
dude beautiful bass, wow that top in gloss is striking.
Great looking instrument. Love the music that you were demoing it with too.
Awesome player with awesome tone and great-looking bass
Nice tone Phil what were you playing through or is that all the bass?
Gorgeous bass!!
Nice playing buddy! Cool tunes as well. It sounds like you could probably make any bass sound great. String flop on the B?

check the virtual builder, There are more options… I just got a Dustin Davidson in natural finish. Love it.
@@krisjb1how are you enjoying the bass now ? I wish there were more demos of the DD4 to hear how versatile it can be.
i love that tone
what songs did you play in this video?
love it! what pickups is that?
Love the pace of glaciers amazing song
Wait are you the bass player from OTS? Lol
F*** nvm I found out by paying attention more

Great build and insane looking top ! I really dig the tone ... the PUps are JVA single coil or the H50A Alnico Humbuckers ? Anyway great song too !
Congrats, but it would be cool to hear the natural sound of the bass, unprocessed at all.
Are these the single coil pickups or the H50A humbuckers?
The stock pickups in this are Kiesel single coil JVA pickups. I have since swapped them for j99s
Is it just me or does the string buzz get a bit too much quickly? It sounds amazing on that metal track but the more mellow piece makes me want to adjust the action up a little?
I really hope you can do another one with no background music. It’s hard to hear the tone

that's rad man, gorgeous guitar. hope it sounds how you like it after today!
That is a bad ass looking bass though.
Yeah, I saw the music is win for Kiesel builds. Now I’m looking at what I can sell to get a custom bass.
And I started this bass journey on a Hohner B2. Kinda brings it all back
It would appear my new bass was sent to you bu mistake sir, please return as soon as possible……nice bass!
cool bass, me likey
It's a stunner for sure
You and that music was so sick! What songs were your playing to?
These are tracks from my solo project: Asleep in the Stars -- and my band: Outrun the Sunlight
OHHHH YEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
I just watched your video and read comments about how you have macaroni mouth. How did you achieve this timbre?
Are these the Kiesel single-coils or humbuckers?
how much mara do you order ? thank 🥳
Sounds great. What are you playing through?
I ran it through an axe fx preset then messed with it in post with some eq, compression, and drive
Glass pick guard?
Definitely gotta remove that pick guard the design on that wood looks too good to cover it up.
That bridge looks ugly sticking out past the body🤔🍻
Why has no one did a clean tone all I hear is August Burns red dial tone even though he has the best I want to hear a clean as well
Hey if you email me I can send you the bass DI tracks from the audio I recorded in this video. pbasskalas@gmail.com
I haven't had a pick guard on a bass in such a long time.
I don't really need them
