Currently OS Distros offer single DPDK package for different architectures. This requires packages to be compiled for the lowest possible CPU requirements allowed by upstream. This presentation covers the performance challenges with the current distro packaging model along with the functional / memory footprint issues with the current DPDK static configuration model and multi-architecture support binary issues.
