aTrippyFarmer and his family are back to bring you more farming adventures! In this episode, Andy and the crew taking care of a few things while they wait on their last push of tillage season. They finally pick up their new john Deere R15 batwing mower just in time for the winter! Andy discusses the new mower a bit then takes it back home for storage. Following that, they wait for the ground to firm up a little bit more on one field that they want to vertical till. Within a couple of days, a farm finally reaches working condition on about 80% of the field, so they send the John Deere 9460R and Landoll vertical till over to chop up the stalks. Due to the wet terrace bottoms, Andy has to be creative when working the field. He finishes that up, and begins waiting on the next opportunity. A few days later in the early morning hours, Andy goes out with the John Deere 9620R to break into some frozen ground. Although this isn't optimal, it very well may be their best and only chance to level this field up. This quest isn't without problems, though, as the disk ripper gives Andy all sorts of fits. Much to his surprise, he gets the entire field worked. Thanks for watching!

Andy "aTrippyFarmer" Dole is a 6th generation farmer from Central Illinois. On this farm, Andy works alongside his father, Marty, his uncles, Chris and Jeff, and his sister, Katie, to grow corn and soybeans on some of the finest dirt in the world. Andy and his family are deeply rooted in the area, operating a large farm that traces it origins back into the 1800s. Although some tracts did not stand the test of time, Andy and his family still grow corn and soybeans on fields that have been in the family for longer than even the oldest members of the farm have been alive. We do, we have, and we always will take tremendous pride in calling this piece of paradise our home. Andy was a Bronze Tablet graduate of the University of Illinois in the field of Crop Sciences, following the same path as his father and late grandfather.
It would be misleading for Andy to claim that this life is one that came by chance; rather, as a member of two multi-generational farm families, it was simply in his blood. His passion for agriculture traces back to his early youth--some of his fondest, earliest memories being of days spent riding in the combine with his father and grandfather. Although his understanding of the lifestyle was much less complex in the beginning, the love he has for farming, and its industry has only appreciated through time. As this dream blossomed into adulthood, Andy now works relentlessly, and tirelessly, to chase his own dreams and to build a farming operation of his own alongside his family.
We, as a whole operation, are handymen, electricians, mechanics, landscapers, accountants, economists, caretakers, stewards, and, most importantly, farmers, and we take an incredible amount of pride in our work. There is no challenge too overwhelming, no situation too stressful, and no problem too difficult for us to take on, and we want to take you along with us. Welcome to our farm and welcome to our lives. You have the best seat in the house to watch the everyday chaos of farming unfold--we usually only get concerned when things aren't going wrong!

Sunday morning May14th and I'm watching yourstruggles scraping the field. Great show
Thank you! Have a great day.
Great video
Thanks!
Nice Drone footage on this video.
Thanks 👍
Excellent video keep them coming 👍 have a true understanding what it takes to be a true farmer and you're family says it all what a farmer is
Thanks for bringing us along this harvest!
Nice video! Being someone that didn't see the inside of a cab back in the 60's, I have to say, you haven't lived until you crawled inside of duals to eat your supper and get feelings back in your hands and feet. 😉😉
Wow that gave me a chill just thinking about it. Farming sure has changed over the years, but so has the world!
Many thanks for the video Trippy. Cheers all
Awesome drone footage, music, sunrise, absolutely gotta admire a man that gets up at 2AM to get work done, Thanks
We run the 60 and 20 r’s at my work, very comfortable machines especially the 20’s
Agreed!!
Hello from Moosomin,Saskatchewan, Canada
Thanks for watching!
Awesome Video and Much Love as Always!!!!
Nice batwing mower! Drone shots are awesome
Thanks 👍
Love the drone footage.
Once again your drone/music shots are outstanding 👍 Good grief Charlie Brown those fields are still awfully wet
For the nasty conditions I think it’s looks satisfactory!
Hands down my favorite farm-focused RUclips channel. INFORMATIVE, ACCURATE, AND FUNNY. Thank you.
Wow, thanks!
On adding lights to your shop/shed/barn. I suggest Hi vis led motion detection lights. are only on when your in. saves on usage costs
It looks like we may have a warm winter here in the land of Lincoln. Slugs, root worm and army worms are going to be having a party!
Yes we may have pest problems if it doesn't get cold. There is a lot of winter left to come, though. I am a fan of cold ones!
@@aTrippyFarmer the colder the better. The cover crops I planted over my wheat are supposed to be winter killing. I dug up a 3’ long radish today.

Hi from Maine. Awesome drone vids!
We were in that same boat right after harvest but then we had a 3 week window where it dried up and we got about 900 of our 1400 acres chiseled. But we have been in your same situation where we would work ground all night and sleep a few hours during the day, and didnt stop until we were bringing up chunks the size of a pick up truck.
2am start. Impressive!
The drone footage is deadly 💪💪
U should b home in a warm bed but farming is a 24/7 job no matter what the weather Thank U for being a farmer keep farming an I will keep watching
A lot of beautiful drone shots! Happy Holidays!
you could insulate a area in your shop and put up some doors and have a heated are in ur shop to work on combines and tractors in
Make sure put hose concter in every 50 feet wont have have much hose then blow up tries also add towel rack wipe hands
We have no idea how hard our grandparents or great grandparents had it. My father's mother went 7 days without a single thing to eat (when already lean and always hungry) won't refuse anything that's edible and set before you.
It’s hard to imagine the struggles that previous generations have faced. We sure are lucky to be alive today!
Slap a salamander heater or two in your shop areas if you don't already have one. Just an idea
Another great video with drone footage and music. Would you consider putting a label up during those scenes with the group and song name? Thanks for your continued hard work, still catching up.
Yes I could probably do that!
Start ripping to get rid of that compaction. We power wash everything after field work to make sure its nice and clean so we don't have problems next time we use it.
18k subs Friday night. Climbing on up 🚜🚜
Sounds like breakfast to me
WINTER LIST #1 Remove Harvestore from in front of shed door. LOL!
Haha we would have to get the corn out first!
Inside washbay like Larsons. Lol also a pitSo you can change oil without lifting. Make a little bit longer though.
Great video and tractor. Greets Stefan
Was just there doing same, had to take rolling baskets off and raise back blades up to hardly in ground, thank god to hydraulic lift.
When you mentioned highway 57 I realized we go right past some of your fields on the way to Alabama’s gulf coast in February. We need to get out of the Wisconsin cold for a few weeks.
In trashy wet gumbo soil I had to move my scrapers a good inch to inch and a half away from the disc to stop the mud from filling in between the discs. The trash would get caught up between the scraper and disc and then start collecting the dirt otherwise. Could maybe try that and see if it fixes your problem.
I know how frustrated you feel with those disks clogging up. I was out disk ripping and the rear disks kept plugging up on the left side - the rest of the machine was working perfectly. I was getting very frustrated, and it turned out that one of the scrapers had broken and was causing problems. Once that was fixed, there were no more problems. And your comment about your neck hurting because you had to babysit the ripper could not have been more relatable... haha
👍👍
😎☀️
Did Y'all use to moldboard plow most everything? I broke-in a new DMI years ago in Greene County. One of my favorite operator events after harvest.
Just call me a hired-hand.
subject in Transair pipe for your airlines have worked with it very easy to work with and very quick to put up too my boss at the time was not happy with the cost put i taken me a day to run the airline down the warehouse i would have taken me a couple of weeks with black pipe and to thread it all to push on couplers had only on failed on me it was easy to fix to put it apart and replace the o-rings in the coupler to easy to add on to the airline to
yes i do have this on all of our farm's buildings too that has air too
Thanks for the suggestion!
I dont know if you have the chance, but maybe get a demo on a Fendt? I would be curious to know what a die hard JD man says about them.
I am interested in that idea!
That’s why you should clean out the machine when you quit so it will run the next time you want to work
Love your videos
I hope that design works better than some of the others on the brushhog the 1508 had the spring inside the frame junk . And the cx 20 had the springs if you backed up against something hard the spring would fall out . HX 20 had the air bags to get cut or punctured so I kinda like it
Was that an old John Deere swather/windrower in your shed?
That is an old sprayer!
Have you ever noticed a yield difference in soybeans between the ripped ground vs vertical tilled?
How fast do you pull that thing sheesh
I pulled it out of the ground because of the disc being froze up, so I was going pretty fast.
Next spring will you plant beans right into the vertical tiled ground
Why not buy some reliable semis?
pourqoi tu draine pas tes champs tu n aurait plus d eau sur tes parcelles ?????
I don’t have translations on my computer here. Thank you partner
Yes you should of used open station tractor and combine. You had to be tough. Field in michigan
I hate when the 512 outside rear disc gangs make piles.
Hey there Trippy, I believe the proper name is "Rotary Cutter" and not Rotary Mower, and it's a "Flex Wing" and not a Bat Wing.
I'm going to have to start charging you for this continuing education.
"Nothing Runs Like A Deere" 🦌👍🇺🇸
did you ever find that stalk stomper? Great drone shots
Nope!
You outlaw farmer putting off road diesel in your pickup lol
Well that was certainly a cold video, I am still recovering.... But I completely understand what you were trying to do. hasten decomposition. Thank you for the warming video. BTW Xmas music started too early this year again.
Surely you've got some more pressure washing videos?
You really need some more reliable semis. Maybe do or explain why strip tilling may or may not work for you.
i wish i would have saw a plough
Make sure that mower has the pip on it to prevent the rear wheels from folding up underneath the mower. We had it happen just backing into a ditch. It about totaled it. Terrible design, that torsion axle is. Deere wouldn't cover our mower.
We rip ne to see angle on a quarter mile field tube acres from corner to other corner of field works good
Why?
Why not?
How about a million-dollar bin site that you ask your viewers to help pay for. LOL
Should I start a gofundme?
@@aTrippyFarmer No, just having a little fun at Cole the Corn Stars expense. You guys look like you live within your means.
