This kayak looks gorgeous! I can’t wait to see more videos of you using it! For the front hatch, I think there are things you can apply for it to come off easier but I’m not so sure exactly what.. might be silicon spray.
I am unfamiliar with this kayak, but it looks to a good design. The seat seems to be a bit forward in the design, I wonder how that affects weathercocking. Remove the rear bulkhead so you can access the deeper space in front of it. Use inflated airbags to stabilize the gear and take up space.
Thxs for your review. Was on the verge to buy a Atlantis 14 when I saw your video. Decided to go directly for the Emotion 505, whitout testing it. At almost 66, with only kanoe and recreational kayak experience, it was a bit of a gamble. As I will use it mainly for solo multi day eiland hoping trips, you have to be sure to be able to do self rescue. But after 2 weeks I will go along with you. It is an amazing fast boat and can make it easily 6 km/hr. Able to do selfrescue with the peddle float, but with 4 days of drinking water, food, and a load of gear, the boat will be heavy. In a week, I will test this out as well. When ok, I am off for 4 days of the grid. Also bought myself the portable barbeque you used on your trips. Can you tell me the location where you lounged the kayak for your Ko Payam trip? As with all the mangrove delta's it can take a long time to find a tide independent spot.
I agree, it is a fast and very stable boat. I get to use mine way too seldom though. At the Ranong trip we started off just south of Ranong city. Google Yummi Halal, and you will see a restaurant 50-60 meters from our departure spot. :-) I need to figure out how to move my kayak around Thailand safe and cheap. Got no car, and I really love to do that trip again, among others. Koh Chang by Cambodia with all its small islands are interesting as well.
@BackonTrailasia I live in Rawai Phuket island and have a Hilux pickup with a softrack. Planning a 4 day trip beginning Januari to the Phagna islands as a start. Start at Ko Kho Khao and then up to Ko Ra. If successful I might go to the Ranong islands as well. Maybe we can team up once. I am retired so tons of free time
Hi. I am considering to buy this kayak. The one I've seen in shop had the same issue with front hatch :p next days I will get one for few days for test. I hope it will impressed me.

Is suitable for light paddler about 65 kg too? Thanks
