I own it and love it, so right about the crown and Lume. Surprisingly light, so much bang for the buck, ceramic, titanium, SS, sapphire, AR reflective, anti magnetism, it wears so nice. The little Knick on the back at the 5 year mark of when to change the battery. This is my favorite watch in my collection by a long while, better than any rolex or Omega i own in terms of bang for the buck. It’s a stunner.
@@fraybentos9854 I will take it to seiko to be serviced in the 5 years when the battery dies. It will start to skip two seconds to let you know when you have one year of battery life left also the 5 year date is stamped on the back

@seegee1613 As an owner and someone who has handled it in the metal, what color is the shroud? Is it black? In certain lights it almost looks blue. Maybe its just my eyes playing tricks on me because of the dial.
I've just treated myself to this watch today and its beautiful. I've had my eye on this model and the Gold version for a little while now but an offer I spotted tipped me over the edge for this particular model and I feel lucky to have landed one with the limited run of 1200. I got it for a fantastic price from an authorised dealer who'll send it to Seiko for me free of charge when the watch eventually needs a battery change sometime around July - Sept 2026 according to the back of the watch.. A spot on purchase from start to finish, I'm over the moon with this. Happy Saturday!

I saw a post from 2018. Guy sent his SBBN011 tuna in for battery change to Seiko service center. Only $40 including pressure test. Way less than I thought it would cost.
I have been trying to figure out what this watch is actually a limited edition for. it says it is celebrating the 35th ann. of the 1986 release (which was the first year for the 7C46 and 1000m) but it looks nothing like the one from 1986. In fact the one released for the the anniversary of the 1978 Tuna should have been released for the 1986 one as it looks just like it with the 1000m on the dial (a true 1978 anniversary limited edition should have said 600m on the dial) Oh and with the ceramic shroud comes the chance of cracking it (something that happened to me with one of my tunas) which would not happen with the one on the 1978-1985 or the 1000m SBDX011 as they have metal shrouds)
If you need to replace the battery or service the watch because it got damaged. Do you have to send it to Japan or is there an option to send it to a USA service center?

So close to be the perfect tuna. Love the use of yellow, but i can't stand 2-colour dials like this one that fades from black to blue. Makes it more fashion-like than a tool.

I own the automatic emperor tuna and the bezel insert is made out of some sort of resin. Every watch enthusiast should own a Seiko tuna. 👍
Those pops of yellow on the second hand, 1000m, and the crown are all tastefully done! It really looks like a pressure gauge. My grail watch!❤️

Mine arrived today, the watch is absolutely perfect, perfect human engineering, better than a Rolex in my opinion, a piece of thought work.

How do you change the battery? It looks like a monoblock case?

I like the new crown with the "Lock "marking on it, and the style of the hands.

The only negative to this watch is it has a metal strap keeper. It should have been silicone.
