Classic Doc! The best musician (on any instrument) that I ever worked with. I was his Conductor & Pianist from 1978-1983. 'Doc' and his Lead trumpet player, Snooky Young, took me under their wing & showed me the ropes. They were both Impeccable every night - and helped turn a 22 year kid into a fully realized Musician. His daughter, Nancy, was on the road with us as a background & featured Singer. She also sang at my first wedding in Los Angeles in 1979. Doc is still killin' it - and the documentary is terrific! Thanks for the memories...
Wonderful! Thanks, David. I believe Nancy was the co-producer of the Doc Severinsen Documentary, “Never Too Late” which is being shown at virtual music festivals around the country. Still waiting to get a DVD copy of the program if it becomes available.....or an on-demand version. Nancy Severinsen also sang with Doc’s Now Generation Brass group as a vocalist in Today’s Children accompanying Doc both on the road in on some of his recordings.
Siempre me encanto su increíble afinación y desemboltura un gran trompetista de los mejores del mundo

Thanks for sharing. That's such lovely story.
You are blessed!
Well done, nice handy work.
Thanks for uploading a goodie, of which I was unaware.
The best ever love the Doc!!
Powerful perfection he.was born to play the trumpet
How cool, I hadn't seen this before, and damn, Doc was smokin' even way back then! 😎
Complete, total, absolute mastery of the instrument. And the purest tone to have ever been produced this side of heaven.
No kidding about that pure tone. I saw him live several times in the late 70's and early 80's, he was amazing.
What an awesome find. Thanks for posting!
Thanks for posting this. Nice to see early Doc.
I love his sound. Unbelievable trumpet player in his prime. Thanks for posting this!
I love you, DOC ♥️♥️♥️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️♥️♥️♥️🎺🎺🎺🎺🎺🎺🎺🎺🎺
Love his tone on the Getzen Eterna. Scintillating!
Agreed!
The greatest trumpet player ever by far.
I agree.
No way.

My hero
On this day I turned 5!
The Master
Isn't Doc still performing?
Only on his own terms, I think. He is not touring as far as I know, but still plays with Gil Cartas. Can't guarantee that info!
He never sounded better than on the stock Getzen horn. He was playing a Schilke mouthpiece too.
Bach screw rim mouthpiece, variation on a Mt. Vernon 5C I believe.
You got better eyes than me.
It's a Jet-Tone
Funny Valentine in concert C#m.
The microphoning on this is bad.
