Already the country lacks trees, at least the few trees and plants in the entrances helps not only to beautify but also provides fresh air. The team really needs to do some research andxsee residential areas in Ghana, Nigeria, south Africa all have beautiful gardens and trees in their front entrances... please please reconsider this decision...

You should use common sense There's an exception for every rule. Look at the opposite side of the embassy how dirty and filthy it is compare to the beauty in front of the embassy. It's not even a main road it's a dead end. This is not part of cleaning it's pure madness.

Is this Hammer man a "ma shaa Allah "?, he is very happy making the poor people cry, yes clear the roads but what support is the government giving to those affected? "Jurumi la sappi kang", the people are already suffering from the high cost of living and lack of employment, no meaningful jobs to sustain families

Nowhere in this report The Gambia National Social Protection Policy 2015-2025 (google the pdf) do they mention the security for pedestrians walking along the highways ...the government is using this as an excuse to tear down street vendors shops...whilse the real issue is that Gambia will be hosting the international OIC Conference and the participating countries (Afghanistan, Albania, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Benin, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Brunei Darussalam, Burkina Faso, Algeria, Djibouti, Chad, Indonesia, Morocco, Cote d'Ivoire, Palestine, Gabon, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Guyana, Iraq, Iran, Cameroon, Qatar, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, the Comoros, Kuwait, ) are affraid of their own security during the transport of the OIC delegates - meaning this entire Clear the Street operation has NOTHING to do with the safty of the common Gambian getting struck by a car....Gam Gov is also enjoying an Increased financial assistance for development: The €1.45 billion EURO pledged will help cover needs identified for donor support to The Gambia's National Development Plan. This was decided by Europena Union External Action in 2018 (google it) ....that amount is equal to 106 Billion dalasis = 106 769 880 000,0 to be exact.....

I was thinking the same. I fully support operation clear the roads but not the destruction of beautiful gardens in residential area, this is what makes our country beautiful, you see this in all the other beautiful countries we admire, this is the only beautiful thing we have in Gambia and when it goes ... perhaps they have a better plan...lets wait and see

The reason why this operation, is because no one respected and adhered to the laws of the country and people just did whatever they wanted and it's shameful that it took this long to rectify it.

Shut up, no one is braking the law here. It’s a simple logic, tell people in advance because doing nonsense like this is not acceptable. Gambia is the most undeveloped country in west Africa but also in Africa. I wish you travel and see how other countries are and then you will understand that Gambia is just a village in Africa

Treat people with respect when talking to them, Gambia is lacking a lot of things it seems, and that’s why the useless government need to build more educational infrastructure so that the younger ones can have some education. How can you not understand what that security guard is trying to explain to you. That place is a diplomatic base and you have to respect that, what if the same thing happens to out diplomats in abroad. This country is a hell
