I owned a magnetic version with the bullet proof2.0 d***el, nice red leather seats and quite well put together. The problem for me was the driving position, i could never get the ideal set up, the seat base was to flat and didn't support my legs properly. two main things to watch for on RCZ's are the jacking points are very weak and if the rear double bubble screen ever gets smashed it's an eye watering £5k to replace.
Oh wow! That does sound like an expensive part to replace. I did find it a little bit difficult to get comfortable, but eventually I got there. The 407 that Justin has is a lot better for long trips, I think. Thank you for your self-censorship, it is much appreciated, like the leather seats!
OMG, the exterior styling! I'm liking this much more than the TT; the bulging wheel arches, the uniqueness of the rear window, the larger door windows, those headlamps and the Peugeot lion! The interior is remarkable as well; the pop-up navigation screen reminds me of Rolls-Royce and Bentley in their later years before being taken over by BMW and VAG. Justin is very fortunate to have this unique Peugeot, as well as the others in his fleet! Maintenance is important to keep any engine from self-destruction. Another excellent review Joseph!
Well sir, glad you enjoyed the video! It was indeed a wonderful example, and we would expect nothing less from Justin, of course. The pop-up screen is similar to something like a first generation Audi Q3. Got to watch these Prince engines, of course...
@@lloydvehicleconsulting From what you had mentioned about the similar engines in the Mini Cooper, I definitely agree. The styling is what attracts me, better than the Audi TT. A shame it did not sell well in the UK, so Justin is extremely fortunate to have a nice example.
@@frothe42 , yes, the good old Prince engine, about which we will discuss nothing more.... The styling is indeed very distinctive, although sadly this sort of car is not popular on the new car market any more, hence the low sales.
Stunning car, stunning colour, you sometimes forget Peugeot made this. Great review as always. I know that TV personality Carol Smillie owned one or still does.
Oh yes, I remember Carol Smilie. Didn't know what cars she owned, though! Glad you enjoyed the video, Mr Watters, this is indeed not a common car at all.

It's definitely immaculate, like all Justin's cars! They are definitely rarer than a TT, Peugeot didn't sell many of them at all. I don't think it's for sale, sadly....
Thank you for reviewing my RCZ-R. It’s definitely a rare car with only 300 sold in the uk. This was Peugeot Sports first road car since the 205 T16 and they have done a great job. Values show this and they are holding up well for its future classic status. As Joseph said it’s an amazing car to drive with its limited slip diff, light weight and 266 bhp. One of the favourite cars in my collection.
We do like the RCZ-R, sir, especially this one! It is a lot of fun to drive, although those rear seats are a bit useless. Thank you ever so much indeed again!
@@reecewalton5116 and you swapped it for a 308 GTi BPS? Well it’s being well loved now, fully restored all wheels refurbed, correct tyres, paint worked detailed and living in heated storage with lots of other beauties! How long did you own it for?
Historically the Prince engine was, erm, interesting. This RCZ R was the first of Peugeot's reworked cars to have a properly sorted engine that addressed the faults of the earlier Princes. This, the 308GTi and the later (208PS) Peugeot 208 GTi are better ownership prospects than previous Prince powered cars. They're no Toyotas but they're no longer the disaster waiting to happen that previous Prince-engined cars were.
Thank you ever so much indeed for watching and commenting! You will notice that we don't talk about diesels or the Prince engine on the channel most of the time, but I broke my own rules as I was offered this one, and I caved in... The Prince engined 207 I reviewed on the channel in 2019 was one of the worst cars I have driven in a while! The 3008 PHEV still uses a Prince engine (heavily modified), so perhaps they have finally sorted these out, as you say.
A very fine car. Much more than a mass market coupe, it is indeed very well designed and stands out really well in any setting. I have noticed some lady owners struggling to emerge from the low seat through the very large door which can only be opened very slightly in a confined space. They still seem to love their RCZ because they seem to hold on to them for long periods. We do love 266 bhp though as well as sharp steering, great ride and handling with comfortable heated seats and leather steering wheel. Very surprising boot capacity. I believe that you would also enjoy an early Audi TT Sir. My Son had a 2001 Audi TT Quattro 1.8 with 300 bhp. It was a lovely drive with a very smooth gearshift. Beautiful grey leather interior. Big stretch over the sills to get in and out though. Utterly reliable and built like a tank
Yes, not that easy to get in and out, especially if you happened to be in a confined space. There has not been anything quite like this before or since, definitely a very distinctive car. The boot is quite large for this sort of car, although I don't think anyone buys an RCZ R principally for its practicality. As we drive moderately on this channel, it didn't really get particularly exploited, but it definitely has the chassis which will handle it.
As this one belongs to Justin, it is in superb condition with no faults at all, but I have had electrical problems in one of the Peugeots we tested early in the life of the channel about two and a half years ago...
Given the huge boot, I wonder whether throwing a spare tyre in there wouldn’t help the weight distribution, being front-engined. Not that I’ve heard any complaints about handling in any reviews. Great video and in my opinion a special car - although rear design far better than front end. Cheers
A surprisingly spacious boot for a car like this, and quite a nice drive, although I am not sure about the driving position. The rear is extremely handsome, no doubt about that!
They may have their share of issues but, for a mainstream brand, Peugeot really knew how to build some very pretty cars. This is a stunner. I think it should have had a better name though. RCZ doesn't really do it justice! Despite a small boot, which would struggle to fit bodies, it's impressive that A-net fitted inside. She must be very petite.
