They were worn at the first summer camp I worked at, styled with the oversized t shirt (Christian camp, so absolutely not see-through) pretty sure it was the running shorts and the sperrys. This was by the girls. The guys however styled them in a much more... country club style lol
As a New Englander, they were never out to my knowledge. You don't style them how stated though. You wear them to make yourself look like "old money" from Cape Cod.
I've kept my Sperrys since high school knowing they're timeless. Still in good condition! Too bad they're a whole size too big for me. 🙃 This was back when my mom advised me to buy shoes a tad bigger so I could grow into them. Spoiler: I didn't grow into them. But I have been seeing a lot of them at the thrift store lately so hopefully I'll find one in my size eventually.
Literally everyone except fashion history scholars is ignorant about "the history of what they be wearing"; all the millenials in the comments are convinced they invented this stuff as well.
Not the reeking of the shoes🤣 why did no one wear socks with their shoes in those days. I think it’s because they didn’t make socks yet that didn’t show
Um, according to my father-in-law, those have never been out of style. These sweet summer children. Even though this joke has been made a million times, they still think that they are inventing new trends. Just waiting for my teen daughters to ask for a pair of these.
If you wanna get REAL WILD, you can put your hair up in a messy bun, use sports wrap as a headband, and wear giant dangle earrings instead of studs. It really pulls the extravagance together with the preppy athletic vibes.
The aggressive speech is killing me! 😂😂😂😂😂😂❤
"I'll play along..." 😂😂😂
You’re missing the neon sports bra under the shirt 😂 at least that’s what we did!
Lol they are trolling us 🤣 "boat shoes" girl bye 😂 we lived in them "boat shoes"😂
What do you mean back? I always dress like this. And yeah I am on the beach in Florida. We all dress like this. 😂😂
Exactly. New England coastal community? This is how you look classy, but with like a popped collar polo/old money look.
“The new boat shoe trend” 😂 Girl, we invented the boat shoe trend from *gasp!* 2005
Lmao, no, you didn't, they've been around since 1935; funny exhibiting the same behaviour you make fun of.
"Like a comb-over" 💀
After a while I seriously was transported back to college. I felt I was watching old school RUclips
I’m a uni prof and kids have been wearing Sperrys for at least the past 7 years. I don’t think that they went anywhere, honestly.

I was JUST talking about hoping the boat shoes make a comeback omg
As a New Englander, they were never out to my knowledge. You don't style them how stated though. You wear them to make yourself look like "old money" from Cape Cod.
Omg 😂😂 the throwback, it does feel like a troll how they’re like ✨what do you guys think of the “xyz” trend✨ and us being like huh?? It’s back?
Sperrys and Dexters were Catholic school uniform shoes in the 80s.
You forgot adding prevention bandaids the first two weeks so your blister blood does stain the leather 💅
Yes it totally caught me off guard when my daughter asked me for Sperrys 😮 when I should've just kept all my old ones
😭 whyyyy am I being forced to remember these trends that I locked away forever

alot of gen z super ignorant to the history of what they be wearing. I'm guilty of it too but at least I don't partake in trends to that extent

Why would you style them in the most juxtaposed way possible?
I bought a pink pair
Not the reeking of the shoes🤣 why did no one wear socks with their shoes in those days. I think it’s because they didn’t make socks yet that didn’t show
Like I was in high school during the sperrys and colored skinny jeans era (2010-2014). 😂 can’t believe its coming back

My FL corporate attorney father-in-law would agree 😂
I never knew sperry’s were “out” 💀

I wore them in middle school/jr hich in the mid 80's, but with slouchy socks. They were called docksiders.
YESSSS MA’am❤😂😂😂
Omg they have to be trolling us atp 😂
Ew, noo, not the grandpa bedroom slipper shoes again. I wouldn't be caught dead in those.
This is how every popular girl dressed when I was in high school 😆 It's taking me back
I've come to the realization we either looked like office workers or someone who ran out of a burning building in their sleep wear.
"You're welcome"
triggered
Why do I feel like I’ve seen those shoes before? I probably haven’t but it feels like I have 😂😂
Lol
