@@HowYouCanMakeIt I just had a small fleck / piece of metal removed from the colored part of my eye. They used a vibrating 30 gauge needle. It was insanely painful and almost lost my vision. I never used to use safety glasses, but now I do 100% of the time.

@@HowYouCanMakeIt 😂😂😂 I was outside doing some sanding one day, had safety glasses on. All was good. Well I walked away from the wood, I took the safety glasses off so I could open some bubbles for my daughter and a TINY little piece of wood landed right in my eyeball while I was opening the bubbles! Go friggen figure! 😂 I had soooo many people say “You should’ve been wearing safety glasses” I had to say the words “I WASSSSS, WHILE I WAS SANDING” like 100 times! 😂 anyways, had to go to the hospital to have it removed, that was fun! Lol
But regardless, again, good for you teaching your son early ❤

My son made something for the family, his mother, his cousin, his teacher his principal and his sister. Great to see them learning a skill and using their creativity. 👍🏻

An Ender Dragon made by your son using the same broken scroll saw in my storage unit that I just now find out looks like the Millennium Falcon??! It’s immediately coming back out of my storage unit, going back into my workshop, I’m backordering the replacement part, and I’m logging back into my Minecraft account to finally defeat the backEnd (and NOT in Creative mode!). And you sir, have a subscriber.

I have heard from some of the scroll saw clubs on RUclips that the DeWalt 788 bearings are not well lubricated from the factory. Have you re-greased the bearings on the arms of your saw? I want to make sure that I take care of this if it is a problem before I put a lot of mileage on my DW788. Thanks!

Can we PLEASE get some basic safety equipment on this child so he’s not a statistic! I won’t even let my 16yr old daughter WALK INTO the wood shop without safety glasses at a minimum!!! Even if EVERY machine is turned off, safety glasses ARE required by everyone! He should also have hearing protection (Chloe has pink ones) and, at least, a basic dust mask. It takes so much longer to unlearn and break bad habits than it does to develop proper ones! Amazing job at passing this wonderful hobby on to the next generation as things like this are kind of a dying art. But please pass it on with safety in mind.

@@HowYouCanMakeIt , BTW, if your 788 is like all the others, the first thing to break will probably be the so-called "air hose" that blows sawdust away. Instead of paying DeWalt about $30 for a replacement air hose assembly that with be a real ***** to install, go on Amazon or elsewhere and spend about $18 on a cooling water hose from Loc-Line, plus their installation pliers (about $7.50 for the hose kit and $10.50 for the pliers. The replacement hose will be better quality than the original, and it's kit includes three different size nozzles that you can choose from. The pliers makes installation quick and easy. You will want to look for their 1/4" ID hose and the matching 1/4" pliers. Taking the table off the saw and raising the upper arm will make enough room to get the pliers in close to the saw.

@@HowYouCanMakeIt no indian summer for you? We're usually good until almost Halloween here. but my shop is always far too cluttered to get away with going barefoot in it. ..not to mention all the different splinter/sliver possibilities ranging from wood to copper to curled bits of sheet metal to stainless steel filings, carbon steel chips, fiberglass strands.. ...etc. then there's all the splitting toenail / stubbing toe probabilities. So I guess im not without fault either. I shouldn't have "cast that stone."
..as for the dewalt scroll saw. I thought they discontinued them? I got mine back in the mid 90s on sale at home depot. I think it was marked down to about $60 or less.. They said they weren't making them anymore.. but now that I'm thinking about it oh, that was about one minute they started pushing those Ridgid woodworking tools. Maybe they were just making room for that. Anyway, I think I made 1 jigsaw puzzle with it and it's been collecting dust ever since. At least next time I use it it's going to be free.
