I can only walk in this challenge speedrun because it was extremely difficult and hard and Funny, Happy, Sad, Cringe, Scary, and satisfying New Super Mario Bros. Wii[b] is a 2.5D side-scrolling platform video game developed by Nintendo EAD and published by Nintendo for the Wii. A follow-up to New Super Mario Bros., it was first released in Australia, North America, and Europe in November 2009, followed by Japan a month later. A high-definition port for the Nvidia Shield TV was released in China in December 2017. Like other side-scrolling Super Mario games, the player controls Mario as he travels eight worlds and fights Bowser's henchmen to rescue Princess Peach. New Super Mario Bros. Wii was the first Super Mario game to feature simultaneous cooperative multiplayer gameplay; up to four people can play in cooperative and competitive multiplayer modes, taking control of Mario and the green guy.

I remember playing this game when I was like 4 and me and my brother made it all the way to the castle in World 5 without knowing you could hold 1 to run
damn should of submitted it.

We got a Super Nintendo when I was a kid and always played Super Mario World together on it. I eventually learned all the techniques (flying, sliding, "extending" jumps via Yoshi) while Mom continued to slowly saunter through the levels, patiently waiting for enemies to pass. Fun times.

what's cool is there's an an actual leaderboard for smb1 walkathon, but that has some really precise things to even be able to cross the gaps

it is kinda cool how every level was designed so it could be beaten without running - it does make the game much harder, though!
that was how my family always played the game. i think the game could use a small tutorial for running, but for them it was always more so that they didn’t understand how to press multiple buttons so they could run and jump at the same time
I remember playing this when I was little and I was bored most of the time that I gave myself so many challenges such as not getting a single hit or only having mushroom as the only power up and I made it that I beat the game so many times and hell I even did this on world 9 on every lv also. I was damn crazy back then.
