  • As you prepare for colder weather with chores like cleaning the fireplace or servicing your heating and cooling system, consider winterizing your irrigation system. This short video will give you easy-to-follow instructions on turning off your controller, operating your backflow prevention assembly, and closing your isolation valve.
These actions will prevent your system from being damaged in the event of a freeze, which could result in costly repairs or contamination of the water you use inside your home.
Depending on how much precipitation you receive during the winter months, you may not need to turn your irrigation system back on until late March or early April.
The video features Licensed Irrigator Thomas DeCell (LI0022594).

The half way on off of the valve is key. I made it thru the freeze but later notice the valve cracked and only leaked in the On position

My system was installed prior to 2009. I can't find an isolation valve. What do I do?

We recommend contacting a licensed irrigator in your area for assistance.

Couldn’t see where you used the screwdriver. Otherwise very helpful.
