It is so good to watch someone who know what they are doing. So many people on RUclips don't know the name of anything they are doing, they don't know how to measure, don't even know the name of fraying fabric, they call it these little things. Ask them what is a selvedge and they don't know. They need to take some lessons before they start trying to teach.
Beautiful fabric and great tutorial on how to make your own - my head is covered all day so wraps can be pretty expensive so nice it's to know how to make your own. Thanks for sharing!
I am white but my nephew's wife is African and wondered how the head wraps worked. Thought I would make her some I made her some masks out of African print fabrics and she loved them, now I know how to make her a matching pair. Thank you❣
I enjoyed your tutorials, you make them clear and simple. Your select fabric is beautiful. Could you please do a tutorial on the infinity scarf. Thanks for sharing your videos.
I was recently in the BWI and I saw several head scarfs with a wire inserted for ease of creativity. do you have a how to make tutorial, or do you sale them
Thanks. I have a beanie from the beauty supply store to use. I may actually do a silk or satin lined one. Sometimes Joanns has some cool prints to use. Very simple and easy.
I am really inspired by African fabric and styles - is it appropriate for someone who does not come from African decent to sew and wear clothes inspired by these styles? Or is that insensitive?
What a very thoughtful question and I’m honestly sad that you even have to ask if you are allowed to honor a culture you find beautiful. But, I get it. Personally, I don’t have a problem with it. But I can’t honestly say that you won’t get some side eye. A sad truth. But I don’t live my life getting permission from others, so I’d just do it anyway. Lol!

You're gorgeous!
Ah, thank you, Amanda!
Thank you, what type of fabric did you use?
Ankara. Mentioned in the video.
thank you so much!!!
It I use stretch fabric would measurements be the same
Yes
Hello.
Did you start with 1 yard or 2?
I mention my measurements in the video, babe.
Was your cutting mat specially made?
Yes, check out my sewing studio tour. I cover everything in my room and where to purchase!
I am going to make it even easier...have jersey knit in black and heather also hot pink...just going to cut and wrap 😊
How much fabric did you start with?
Sorry, I don't remember.
Two yards of fabric is always ideal ... three yards if you'd like a larger and taller knot/design.
Why do you call the fabric lace. Isn't cotton or something else the fabric? Very cute at the end: the model and the project.
Thank you. The name of the company the fabric is from is "Ankara and Lace".

It's 2020 and I love head wraps but trying to wear masks with them is another story
