I’ve seen mice cause havoc in vans, eating the wiring causing shorts and fires, eating through water pipes: best thing you got rid of it as quickly as possible, even though you had to kill it. Might have been an expensive intruder if you hadn’t found it. 🐭🐭
I hope you threw away all the food it had access to cos they urinate constantly when they move about and you should also wash everything down in your boot storage. Funny video, just love the two of you! 😅
Most definitely a fun video to watch, to see the reaction between the two of you over a mouse, hilarious......but surely nobody want's a mouse inside the van.👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Store your food in a plastic box with a lid. That will stop the little critters from getting to your food and if they can't easily get food they won't stay with you.
Hey guys - a comment slightly unrelated to your video - we recently watched through all your videos and it made me want to travel through Europe in a van... we are buying one! One thing you've touched on a little but not really gone into is some of the logistics of water and waste. We've seen you fill up a few times, and there seem to be quite a few public taps and things to use - great. What happens to your waste water from washing up and things, do you have a waste tank that needs emptying, or does it just go on the ground. The most delicate, but necessary question is: what about all the poo? Whilst you've mentioned sometimes the van is smelly because the toilet has expanded in higher altitude, is it easy to find places to empty your toilet cassette? Do you use chemicals in the toilet? I heard about some European places not accepting toilet waste with chemicals... which means a bit more of a potentially smellier situation. Please expand more on your poo removal process :)
Great video bloody mice Probly be worth leaving a trap set just incase the mouse had some mates! We build a new house in the uk and there was a noise in the loft one night put some mousetraps up got 7 in the end and still have the traps set just incase some more appear
I had a mouse in my tent 3 nights in Norway once in the mountains once at a campsite and once again in my backpack after unloading it after putting up the tent in the mountains, I was sure it was the same mouse hitchhiking with me! once of the mice nibbled through the bottom mesh of the inner wall of the tent so that is where either it and its friends were getting in!
I would remove and or secure all food and then get a few traps. Those little guys can get in such tiny spaces! I like mice but not in my stuff. They gotta go ASAP. I have been dealing with them in my house. I have trapped a couple lately. Good luck and Happy Travels
probably chewed the reversing camera wires. If the hole is the size of a bic pen they can fit through it. you know what they say if you see/hear one mouse then you have lots.😆
All open food should be in snap tight containers. Put dryer sheets everywhere and replace monthly. They hate any strong perfume scent and dryer sheets are cheap and easy to stuff into spots.
We had a similar situation in an old flat we lived in, but it was a huge Rat that had got into the building. Could hear it in the walls at night. We were on the THIRD FLOOR 😅. Traumatic experience. Managed to catch it with the old peanut butter trick like you guys and it literally set the trap off while we were in the room. So we heard it thrashing about for about 5 seconds (and saw its tail whipping around. It was behind the skirting board in the kitchen). So I can relate to your situation completely. Not one I would like to repeat. Well done for resolving it so quickly #traplife
plastic containers for all your food, especially porridge and grains etc id be setting a couple of permanent traps so you dont get any more for all you know its already had babies in there and mice can have 5-12 babies once every month
Poor Mr Jingles. Funny video otherwise, the Scooby Doo style running sounds at the start made me laugh as did King Kong. Look forward to next week, cheers.
Our small place was overrun with mice when we first took ownership. We bought a live trap and it worked like a charm. They're adorable. Please don't hurt them.
My sympathy, I had a what I thought was one in my garage a while ago, caused havoc, ruined food, shredded things. I set a capture trap and found it was actually two. I am still finding more nesting sites in various places, I dread to think if I had not caught them and they bred I could have been infested. It did force me to be more organised and keep the food I store in there in sealed containers and to fix the slight leaky pipe they were getting water. The only way they got in my garage was leaving the doors open unattended as no gaps. I guess you guys will have to be a bit more wary of doing the same.
Unfortunately you had to trap it otherwise it could have eaten through the wiring of the van plus clean up as mice urinate as the run around. Throw the food away that the mouse ate. A sad event 😥 Remember! You are good people x
Hey guys, the simple truth is that you can't live with a mouse running around in a van. It's not just the food, also electrics, insulation and other issues they can cause. You have to deal with it, and you did what you had to do... though sad it might be. I'm glad you resolved the issue - Now, can I suggest you get some containers for your food, either plastic or tins... Cheers 😉
There seems to be a stink raised about killing mice. Mostly from people who know little about them. Their population can go berserk and they end up killing each other. They can flash over a landscape and devastate it. The recognition that the mouse would just come back is truth. Still it is tough.
Hi guys, i feel for you, i really dont know how i would feel in your situation. on the one hand you can not live with a mouse in the van crappin everywhere, yet i feel so sorry for the poor mouse who was just trying to live its best life, my only advice would be get a couple of mouse traps that just trap them so you can set it free in the wild IF it ever happens again. All the very best to you both from Nick in Wolsingham. 🐭
Are you sure there was only one? 🐁 🐁 😮 - seriously, you can’t take any chances with rodents in vehicles. A rodent-damaged wiring harness or ECU could immobilise your van or, worse, cause a fire. Glad you got it sorted.
I'd have been exactly the same as you with the mouse! So sad to kill it, and I would have also felt awful, but also wanted it gone ASAP with whatever you had at the time. Totally with you, glad it didnt cause any more drama than it did!
They cannot live in our space. One built a nest in a mobile home beneath my head in bed. So many channels it can hide in. Had to get it. Now im building a camper van, Ive made everywhere accesible and open. I donf need them eating and destroying all my food and personal items. They risk being close to me and pooing snd weeing around me, Then theres no choice.
Commiserations to mousey, but that was a very funny episode!...😅......think yourselves lucky though, I've just been watching another vanlifer (girland2vandogs) and she had 11 (eleven!) mice in her van!!..😮.. I think Mitch would've fainted if faced with that! 😂
That's was funny. Knock knock. Who's there? Mouse's landlord. Mouse's landlord who? Rents due and you're be evicted for health violations. What? Oh this Asian peanut butter is....I TOLD YA. 😂
You didn't have a choice and couldn't get a humane trap so did totally the right thing. I would look for a humane one to put in boot for next few weeks think I will do the same even though no sign of one in mine. Love to you both
mice can be so destructive and even more so in a smaller area. eventful it would have got to your heating wiring. So you had no choice. it is sad, when you cannot do the humanin part.
You built a van but couldn't build a humane mouse trap? Its literally a tall container and a spinning stick. If you dont fancy killing the next one google how to make one and use the tall container for storage in your garage. I would never kill something when you can catch and release but you need to release a long way away. Looks like you might need to get your van on a lift and seal it up to prevent it happening again.
@igrim39 makes a really valid point about the potential risk and supporting the justification to act quickly to ensure your safety. Your probably already on it, but consider routinely checking your smoke detector works, storing your food in airtight containers and stocking a non-lethal trap. In a less dramatic situation, I used to live in a place that sat on land that was home to a species of endangered native mice. Every day I would check non-lethal traps and often found at least one, and the record was five. One mouse was regular, I must have caught and released it, at least, twenty times. In the end, I'd open the trap and while others would dart away, it would simply walk out casually and disappear into the underbrush.
We know EXACTLY how you feel. We adore all animals. However, you really didn’t have a choice for health reasons, to say nothing of the little darling chewing at cables, etc and putting you in very real potential danger. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
You did a nice job on this episode. Moral of the story: No food in the garage that isn't in a mouse proof container. 🐭
Talk about drama, not ideal outcome, but unavoidable. Love the piece where Mitch says so they know we’re not faking it! Always keep it real.
I’ve seen mice cause havoc in vans, eating the wiring causing shorts and fires, eating through water pipes: best thing you got rid of it as quickly as possible, even though you had to kill it. Might have been an expensive intruder if you hadn’t found it. 🐭🐭
Exactly, not a great pet to keep 😅
I hope you threw away all the food it had access to cos they urinate constantly when they move about and you should also wash everything down in your boot storage. Funny video, just love the two of you! 😅
Oh my, all the fun of the fair 🤣
And don't listen to any negative comments guys, you did what you had to. He'll be in mouseville now
Nice one! Ye it certainly isn't the most hygienic thing letting a mouse live in your whole house 😅
I’d be putting traps out for a few nights. Luck if you only have 1
Jesus, you two are babies.
Most definitely a fun video to watch, to see the reaction between the two of you over a mouse, hilarious......but surely nobody want's a mouse inside the van.👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

15:57 if you pause the video and look through Acme Ghostbuster glasses you can see a Mouse Angel 🐭 flying upto Mouse heaven...

Mickey!!!! 😂 Still the way Disney is going you did (him/her/they) a favour! Haha. Love the content. ❤

Best video you have done to date, very funny as well. Thank you

If you buy mouse proof containers to store your food, that may help prevent future intruders! 😅
It was you or the mouse….
💪 you won, you did the right thing, it would have destroyed your home….
Ahhhh!! 🐁 mousegate, they can get into the smallest of spaces.
plastic containers for all your food, especially porridge and grains etc
id be setting a couple of permanent traps so you dont get any more
for all you know its already had babies in there and mice can have 5-12 babies once every month
Aw feel so bad for you both, not a nice situation to have. Enjoy the rest of your travels x
Poor Mr Jingles. Funny video otherwise, the Scooby Doo style running sounds at the start made me laugh as did King Kong. Look forward to next week, cheers.
Hell fire. Glad it was'nt a Black Mamba, or summat !

You guys are funny thanks, for the good video, Van life has its challenges eh! 😄
Omg id of died. Least you found it :). Absolutely loved this vid. Was Mitch waring your clothes 😅😅 have a lovely week x
Be glad you had food otherwise he would have chewed on the electrical... I heard peppermint essential oil helps to keep them away...
I hope the mouse wasn’t travelling with a couple of buddies! 😊
I have used traps like this before and if you get it as soon as it goes off you can let the mouse out and they can run away. 🇦🇺
Unfortunately you had to trap it otherwise it could have eaten through the wiring of the van plus clean up as mice urinate as the run around.
Throw the food away that the mouse ate.
A sad event 😥
Remember! You are good people x
They say shavings of Irish Springs soap bar deters mice and flies and other creatures, the entire bar even.

Aww poor 'Stuart Little' RIP little man you will sure be missed, 1999 - 2023 🐭
how about try crazy honking for a while, i saw it worked for another utuber to expel the mouse inside her van

Bless you both x
I went to Spain in the Toyota van and a mouse ate one of the injector harness and put it in limp mode until I got a new harness fitted.
Heard a lot of stories similar to this, we park on fields 90% of the time and I just pray it never happens to us 🤞
I'd have been exactly the same as you with the mouse! So sad to kill it, and I would have also felt awful, but also wanted it gone ASAP with whatever you had at the time. Totally with you, glad it didnt cause any more drama than it did!
Ohhh bless the Slovakian mouse! Loved the video though guys! Take care…. Smithy
Thanks Smithy! 😄

They do sooooo much damage, it needed to be sorted!
😂 very entertaining!
It had to be done!!

Better the mouse than your wiring as it cost £500 to re wire our engine bay !
It cracked me out when you see two cats
Well you got one of them….
Moontlik eers op ontvoering Carlo
Luckily got it before it done any damage to the van electrics.
Several traps with your oatmeal in and around it
RIP mouse
Your good kids, don't worry though. Had to be done.
Comes down to democracy. Mouse vs Me. I vote for me.
Peppermint oil is a good deterrent so you don’t have to go through the ordeal again 🤞
If you can fit a biro pen through a gap a mouse can fit through
I completely empathize with you. But i really believe that you needed to do what you did. You had no choice. It’s okay.
You really can't live with a mouse, you did what had to be done. Now i just need to make my cat understand that😹
If I see it, he’s having it 🤣
Don't be sorry it was pissin n shittin in your lovely van - how would you feel if it had babbies in there? - Done the right thing
Nightmare ain't they, we've got caravan and 3 years ago we had mice, luckily we cleared the bedding out and the little shites were in there 😉
That's was funny. Knock knock. Who's there? Mouse's landlord. Mouse's landlord who? Rents due and you're be evicted for health violations. What? Oh this Asian peanut butter is....I TOLD YA. 😂
You really should keep food in sealed boxes so it does not attract vermin!
Put all your dry food in a sealed plastic box
Couldn’t you have got humane traps so when you do catch it you could release somewhere else
mouse hunt 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
So so funny 🤣🤣🤣
Have you checked there are no others, it may have had babies 😬😬😬 they breed really fast 🧐🧐🧐
I thought the same thing... I gutted the whole back of the van as you saw. Had the traps set since and nothing else so far 🤞
@@TheJammyGits yeah fingers crossed 🤞🏻
You didn't have a choice and couldn't get a humane trap so did totally the right thing. I would look for a humane one to put in boot for next few weeks think I will do the same even though no sign of one in mine. Love to you both

Nightmare guys :( just make sure it's not left dead in your van , you will have flies 😢
You can bet your going to have a real problem returning the body for internment.

If a pencil fits in a hole mice will get It!
I would have sold the van - 😂
So brave😂

Omg that poor little thing !
Rest in peace wee mousy :-) needed to be done, just watch for more they tend to hang out by the 100s LOL
